  • Episode 22 - The Rachel Divide
It's episode DEUCEDEUCE and this episode is HOT 'N' READY! The newest Documenteer, Akil, joins Bob Sham for the new Netflix documentary "The Rachel Divide" by Laura Brownson. The story of Rachel Dolezal, the woman who claims to be a trans-racial black woman who was born white, unfolds in all it's cringworthy glory. Shit gets intense. Shit gets weird. Akil and Bob do the world a favor, and pretty much figure everything out in this episode. You're welcome.

  • Episode 21 - Lot Lizard
It's the 21st Episode. An episode that begs the question, "How brave is your penis?" It's addiction, poverty, and truck stop sex-working galore as we explore the evening ladies (and one dude) of the great american interstates and highways. Bob and Angela discuss "Lot Lizard" by director Alexander Perlman. Streamable for no extra charge if you have Amazon Prime. Join us as we parse through a cavalcade of memorable personalities. Some got syphilis. Others will burn you with a cigarette. One is trying her damnedest to stay out of the game. Plus there's Cinnamon, the lot lizard America doesn't deserve. She's too good for the truck stop. She's too good for all of us.

  • Episode 20 - Enlighten Us
Can you believe it's been 20 episodes already?! 20 delicious episodes of the greatest podcast about documentaries ever! Accept this offering, oh mighty Herzog. Jonni and Bob delve into the world of spiritual motivation and its hazards as it follows around one troublesome/troubled guru with a serial killer name in the 2016 CNN film "Enlighten Us" by director Jenny Carchman. Streamable as of this posting on Netflix. James Arthur Ray (aka JAR) hosted a retreat (for $10,000) where three people lost their lives in a sweat lodge incident he was hosting. After serving time for two years and getting out, what has JAR taken from this experience? Is any of it about the people who lost their lives, or are they just stepping stones in JAR's story? More importantly...who farted?

  • Episode 19 - Get Me Roger Stone
In this our 19th episode, we look back on the life of the most vicious alligator in the swamp and how what happened in the election year of 2016 really wasn't that much of a shock in the whole scheme of things. Stuart and Bob watched the Netflix original documentary "Get Me Roger Stone" by Dylan Bank, Daniel DiMauro and Morgan Pehme. You may think you're tired of all the Trump era rigamarole, but this doc, for all it's snideness and sneering, is rather enlightening. A film that could be an historical account of the slow burn into everyone being completely fucked over. It wasn't overnight. It took years. This film features interviews of people who are being indicted and making the news as we speak. WAKE UP SHEEPLE (LOL). Turns out the "Anti-Elitists" are the biggest elitists of all!

  • Episode 18 - Andre the Giant
Hot off the HBO presses! For the 18th episode of Documenteers Drew joins Bob for a documentary that isn't a 30 for 30. The Dox discuss the new HBO Documentary "Andre the Giant" by Jason Hehir. Andre was larger than life. Literally. Life couldn't hold him. His legacy paved way for legend and so many years after his death his mythology lives on as strong as ever. Bob Sham and Drew discuss the doc and rub Herzog lotion all over it. Also, is Shamco studios...Huh huh huh HAUNTED?!?!? Let Bob's shitty impersonations begin! DOC YOU ALL DAMN NIGHT!

  • Episode 17 - Take Your Pills
Oh My Gawd, Becca. It's episode 17 already. We gotta buy some adderall from your brother and go drink schnapps with Billy over by the playground. We assume that type of scenario has occurred in the lives of the young people we meet in Alison Klayman's new Netflix documentary "Take Your Pills". It's about the rise and reach of adderall, and the history of us feeding amphetamines to kids. It might just be a commercial for certain personality types. The Documenteers tackle this educational film and it's ok if you get sweaty. You might get sweaty. We can be sweaty together.

  • Episode 16 - 30 for 30: Muhammad and Larry
It's been a sweet 16 episodes of your favorite documentary-themed podcast! Bob Sham and Drew get back into the 30 for 30 way of things with Albert Maysles and Bradley Kaplan's "Muhammad and Larry". This film chronicles an aspect of the legendary Muhammad Ali that doesn't get discussed too much...the times he got his ass beat. It happens to the best of us, and even Ali had to lose eventually. But the guy who beat him, Larry Holmes, defended his title a record 16 times over the years and yet the average person likely doesn't know who he is. Much less that the guy is a fantastic singer who is as down-to-earth as a heavy-weight champ can be. Seriously, Larry Holmes likes to sing. Come sing with us. Bet you can't last 10 rounds. For the unofficial soundtrack to this episode, check out DrEugeneFudge's 10 track "Muhammad and Larry" playlist over at www.8tracks.com.

  • Episode 15 - A Hole in the Head
It's a mighty keen episode 15, and we're here to discuss a rather gorey procedure with supposedly interesting results in Eli Kabillio's 1998 documentary "A Hole in the Head". The ancient procedure of trepanation goes back thousands of years, and as it turns out people can come up with a myriad of reasons to drill a hole into their skull. This doc can be found easily on YouTube. If you feel like Documenteers doesn't make fun of hippies enough, this is the episode for you. Will Bob and Jonni perform a trepanation on microphone? Grab your lotion and listen and see.

  • Episode 14 - Call Me Lucky
For the 14th episode of Documenteers, we cover just about all ranges of emotions watching the 2015 biographical documentary "Call Me Lucky" by Bobcat Goldthwait. Bob Sham and Angela are brought into the humorous and dark world of Barry Crimmins. The comedian/activist who we lost just late last February. The emotions get heavy as we discuss easily the most disturbing crime so far. Documentaries can be sad. This film is also deftly funny and fascinating. It's streaming on Netflix right now. Go watch it and cry about it with us. RIP Barry Crimmins.

  • Episode 13 - Nintendo Quest
It's a baker's dozen 13th episode! This is like the bearclaw that gets thrown in with your dozen if your donut guy is cool. We go on our first Kickstarter funded odyssey as a Canadian super-nerd/rock-drummer goes on a quest to find all 678 original Nintendo games licensed in North America. "Nintendo Quest" by Rob McCallum gets the Herzog treatment and Bob Sham and Stuart Von break down all the riveting one-sided phone conversations. How good a film does $40,000 get you? Blow into that copy of Double Dragon, then jam it into your grimey old Nintendo (A metaphor for us, i think), and get ready to...uhhh....listen to us talk about watching this movie.
