Today I read an essay from the book "Dog in the Gap: Brief Explorations in Canine Care-Taking and Human Flourishing" I co-authored with Doug Jackson, as I mourn the loss of our family dog, Luna, who inspired the book project in 2013.

The essay is called "Taming" and speaks to the choice to love and be vulnerable in friendship in order to be better for it. Using the arrival of Luna and the character of the fox in the story "The Little Prince" to examine those ideas you will wonder how you have been tamed and hopefully be challenged to invest more vitally in friendships moving forward.
