Dogglounge Deep House Radio

Mix Recorded March 21, 2021 (Track list below)

Photo: Matanzas, Cuba July 2019

I get a lot of inspiration for my podcast covers from my trips to Cuba, and all the other places in world I have been fortunate to travel to pre-pandemic. Whenever I was traveling I would make sure to take photos of places and unique scenery with podcast covers in mind.

In this particular photo my partner and I rented a scooter and made our way to the city of Matanzas, which is about 48km/30mi from beach resort town Varadero where we were staying. Matanzas was not quite the 'city' we thought it would be but still a humbling and bustling community with lots of character and characters.

Currently in Toronto, Canada we have been in lock-down for almost 4 months, one of the longest lock-downs in North America, as businesses slowly begin to reopen and our numbers continue to rise, the politicians are now dj's (lol jk,could not resist slipping that in there) I digress - The government is suggesting hair salons allow outdoor haircuts. This made me remember the photo I had taken in Cuba of an outdoor barber shop where this has been normal for a long time. Cuba always had a way of humbling me.

Recorded live on 2021 Mar 05, just AFTER I got home from Miami. I couldn't completely shake the high energy of Miami, so there was some "residual energy" in this set - less than my last one, but still some fun here. Tracks by all kinds of greats - Atjazz, Two Armadillos, Demarkus Lewis, Low Steppa, Keri Chandler, David Harness, and many great tracks by lesser-names like Boosh, Dee Montero, Mike D, and more. Enjoy!

Track list at my Mixcloud page for this set (after I post it there).

Recorded live here at the station on 2021 Feb 12. Thanks to all the listeners (especially those who keep the DJs company in chat).

My normal Friday residency slot crept up on me, and I hadn't prepared as well as I maybe ought to have. So, this one is a bit ad-lib. But, it turned out pretty good.

I hope you enjoy tracks from a WHOLE BUNCH of unsung producers that aren't household names, but are pretty darn good, including Lady Alma, Marquis Hawkes, Masaki Morii, Austin Ato, Phaze Dee -- along with others you DO know like Demarkus Lewis, Phaze Dee, Giom, Robert Owens, and Groove Assassin.
