William Willard Langston was a Private First Class in the Marine Corps who was killed in action on March 7th, 1945, while fighting on the Japanese island of Iwo Jima in WWII- or at least that's what was reported by the USMC. Then ten months later, a man limped into Langston's home town of Newport, Arkansas, claiming to be the supposedly dead Marine. The man knew everyone by name, and accurately recalled stories from Langston's past. By the time he left town the next day, everyone was convinced Langston had indeed returned. But after that visit, the man vanished, and left behind a mystery that endures to this day- who really was the Phantom Marine? (Subject Matter Begins @ 5:00)
