The category is….AUTHENTICITY.  Alec and Matthew are thrilled to talk to Dominique Jackson, the celebrated actress known for her role as Elektra Abundance on the critically acclaimed series, “Pose”.  In today’s episode, Dominique shares her real-life personal struggles growing up in a religious family as she faced sexual abuse and her journey to find her authentic self.  She describes her road to stardom and reflects on the moment she realized her life came full circle, including her experience working with other trans actresses including director Janet Mock.  Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, the model gets candid about her past drug abuse, the misconceptions of sex work and how the ballroom changed her life.  As a trans activist on the front lines helping to bring transgender issues to the forefront, she also explains what it really means to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and her positive message of love and acceptance.
