In the mid 19th century, Americans began traveling and moving westward, settling in new communities in California and Oregon. In 1846, one group of settlers embarked on one of the scariest and deadliest treks of that time. Tricked into taking a dangerous route, the travelers had to endure rough terrain, steep climbs, and eventually strong winter storms. This left them exhausted, desperate, and starving. Today, we'll tell the story of cannibalism and the Donner Party.
