  • ‘Fall in Love with the Hustle:’ A chat with the mother/daughter team behind Motto Fashions, Faye Browne and Lauren French.

In episode #93, Mel and Trish were excited to jump online to the Melbourne-based mother/daughter team behind Motto Fashions, Faye Browne and Lauren French.

This dynamic pair live and breathe both their business and fashion. Never ones to shy away from hard work, they oversee every aspect of their business from design to e-commerce and marketing. They also believe, unequivocally, in the power of fashion to change lives - in its ability to affect mood and energy. For Lauren and Faye, fashion is not about the superficial but about confidence, expression and commanding the room.

Being fashion-lovers themselves, Mel and Trish were keen to tap into the energy of these two extraordinary women and learn more about how they make it all work. And their favourite time of day?...1pm weekdays when they go live on social platforms to play with fashion, talk about what’s new and most importantly, have fun.

These girls seriously love the hustle and are an absolute hoot.

    Enjoy!

  • ‘Consistent, Imperfect Action:’ a better approach to diet and exercise with health coach Kitty Bloomfield.

In episode #92, Mel and Trish headed to the Gold Coast to chat with ultra-dynamic, Kitty Bloomfield - kick ass health coach, businesswoman, podcaster and entrepreneur. Kitty is the co-founder of Nustrength, an online nutrition and training platform that helps women transform their bodies through improved metabolic functioning and strength training.

Until 2015, Kitty spent most of her adult life stuck in a cycle of dieting and overtraining. She was obsessed with food and was happiest when she was thin but had to starve and overtrain herself to get there. That changed when she met her now business partner Craig, nutritionist Emma Sgourakis, and discovered the work of Ray Peat.

Having achieved a complete diet and exercise overhaul herself, it’s now her mission to free other women from restrictive diets, help them restore their metabolisms, balance their hormones, and build bodies they love. And if that’s not enough, she and Emma recently launched Saturee, a clean skincare and food supplements range and in her spare time, she hosts a red-hot podcast, ‘Weightloss for Women: Eat More, Train Less Get Results.’

Kitty is shouting her mission to the world and we are listening.

This is a no-holds-barred conversation so hold onto your hats 50ishers.

  • ‘The Girl Who Chose to Be Tasered:’ An interesting chat with anxiety coach Kim Adams.

In episode #91, Mel and Trish chat to anxiety coach Kim Adams about high functioning anxiety, extroverts, and introverts and why she believes finding your passion and purpose is over-rated.

Kim spent 20 years working in law enforcement organisations and absolutely loved her job managing research and evaluation programs. She felt valued and a sense of belonging. When her job disappeared due to an organisational restructure, this outwardly confident, inwardly anxious girl found her world came crashing down.

It led to a critical re-examining of who she was, what she was doing and where she was headed. Armed with a degree in psychology and a masters in management, Kim set herself on a path of spirituality and healing and is now focused on helping midlife women with high-functioning anxiety cultivate radical self-acceptance, release self-limiting beliefs and anxiety using a blend of psychology and grounded spirituality.

It’s not all serious though – Kim has a few fun facts up her sleeve including that one time, she volunteered to be tasered & a few adventures in Cuba.

Enjoy the clarity and fascinating perspective of Kim Adams.

  • ‘The Life You Can Save,’ with philanthropist Louise Pfeiffer

In episode #89, Mel and Trish were excited to chat to the very awesome Louise Pfeiffer, a smart-smart girl with a lifelong calling to do good in the world. After completing two university degrees and spending years working in the highly competitive financial services sector, Louise found herself at a career crossroads and decided to follow her calling. Louise is now director of philanthropy at ‘The Life You Can Save,’ an organisation that curates a group of nonprofits that either save or improve the most lives per dollar. This takes a lot of stress out of the donation process. The organisation carries out due diligence, and provides an impact calculator which quantifies the impact of donations, there is also a questionnaire to help donors decide exactly where to donate.

Louise is a calm force of nature trying to achieve social change by reducing suffering and if that’s not enough, in 2017 she decided to step into the political ring and joined the Animal Justice Party of which she is now Vice President.

It seems there is no stopping Louise. In her quiet way, she is a woman on a mission.

  • ‘Small Hinges Move Big Doors,’ unpacking co-dependency and boundaries with life coach Susie Pettit.

In episode #87, Mel and Trish were excited to sit down with life coach Susie Pettit to discuss people pleasing and co-dependency - what it is, how it shows up in midlife and how to deal with it. The more the girls chatted with Susie, the more ah-ha moments there were as they identified what was happening in their own lives. But the good stuff doesn’t end there. The chat then moved onto boundaries or guidelines as Susie calls them. What are they, how to deal with push-back and how are we getting them so wrong?

Susie Pettit is an educator, certified Parent, Life and Wellness Coach and the mum of five sons ranging in age from 8-26. She is the host of the ‘Love Your Life Show’ podcast. She runs a monthly membership for Midlife Warriors and is the owner of Strength: Mind and Body.

This is a big episode content-wise because Susie doesn't just talk the talk but really has walked the walk. She’s an incredible woman with a powerful story and at all times, has demonstrated great resilience which she now shares through her work.

    Enjoy the dynamic Susie Pettit.

  • 'The Key is in the Complaints: I am Enough,' with ABC broadcaster, Sheridan Stewart.

In episode #86, Mel and Trish sit down with writer, speaker, and ABC broadcaster Sheridan Stewart to chat about the recent release of her book I Am Enough and the impetus behind its conception.

Sheridan Stewart had been struggling with burnout for years but couldn’t find a way to break the cycle of rushing about feeling guilty for spending and eating too much as well as not being a good enough wife, mother, friend and so on. Verbalising her complaints to her husband, he suggested she go back three months to look at where she spent her money, how she spent her time and why she was always rushing. This suggestion led Sheridan on a quest to prioritise calm, selfcare and what really matters in life. She set herself a 90-day challenge to spend less and this experience made her contemplate what it means to have enough, do enough and ultimately be enough. It also inspired her to write about her experience. The challenge wasn’t just about how she spent her money either, but how she spent her time and the affect a lack of work boundaries was having on her life.

Sheridan wants to inspire others to follow her lead and take the challenge. She has created a simple, do-it-yourself way to spend less and have more. Importantly though, its tailored to the individual – your challenge, your rules.

As Sheridan says, “Funnily enough, it all began with complaints, so the key was in the complaints.”

Enjoy the very engaging and well-spoken Sheridan Stewart.
