  • Catherine Keener | Episode 10

We’ve made it to episode 10 of Don’t Know Her and this week we are doing a special birthday episode for Scott!! As a delicious birthday treat Scott got free rein from Michael (how generous) to pick a performer of his choice and he chose the glorious Catherine Keener!

Catherine will be known to many as a staple of American indie cinema. A firm favourite of many filmmakers like Nicole Holofcener, Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman she has had the opportunity to tackle roles in a real fun mix of movies along the way. With a lot to cover for Catherine, we dive into as many films as we can, from Into The Wild and Get Out to her Oscar-nominated turns in Capote and Being John Malkovich. And of course as we always so love to do we take a little journey into the unknown future and share some hopes and wishes for Keener’s film career moving forward.

So please join us once again to celebrate another personal favourite who we feel everyone ought to be as excited about as we are. It’s Don’t Know Her time!! Follow @dontknow_her on Twitter and Instagram to keep updated on upcoming episodes and to have your say on future episodes.

  • Kathy Burke | Episode 6

This week we talk about Kathy Burke and her unique screen presence.

You may know Kathy from her celebrated comedic work on British television (Absolutely Fabulous, Gimme Gimme Gimme) but we wish her award-winning film work was more seen and/or appreciated. Whether she’s playing a queen (Elizabeth), a teenage boy (Kevin and Perry Go Large) or a long-suffering neighbour (Anita and Me), Kathy always makes an impression...perhaps only as Kathy could do!

Join us as we reflect on her filmography, why we're drawn to her and what role we hope she gets in the future.

NOTE: In this episode, we discuss the subject of domestic abuse and how it is portrayed in Nil By Mouth (1997).
