March 20, 2022Episode 93 - TattoosIf you like 90 Day Fiancé and you like parenting talk, then this episode is your jam. If you're here for the parenting tattoo discussion, maybe skip ahead about 20min...because we unintentionally discuss 90DF a bit longer than we thought. But we do discuss our thoughts on getting inked. Do we have tattoos, what would we do if our kids wanted them, and just some general thoughts on them. What do you think of tattoos? Do you have them? Would you get one? What would you get? Would you be ok with your kid wanting when when they are old enough? Our mom today is MRS. GUMP from the movie Forrest Gump. Give us your Tattoo opinions in the Facebook group or on Instagram, or write in to us at [email protected]. Enjoy!...more1h 19minPlay
March 13, 2022Episode 92 - Tangent Talk...AgainYou know it, you love it (at least I think you do), it's everyone's favourite....TANGENT TALK! These are the episodes that have no rhyme or reason, they have twists and turns, and maybe you laugh once or twice. We mostly get hung up on things we hate but everyone else loves....like cheesecake and pizza (you'll have to listen to find out who hates what). What do you hate that everyone around you seems to love? What topics would you like to hear us tangent off of in future episodes? Our mom this week is JOYCE BYERS from the show Stranger Things. March 06, 2022Episode 91 - PiercingsSandy did it in Grease (kind of), Vada took the plunge in My Girl 2 (even though Nick was totally against the custom), and Stephanie Tanner was desperate to get it done and be cool (she did up with a nasty infection though). What am I talking about? Ear piercing of course! For whatever reason we feel the need to poke holes in our ear lobes and adorn them with glittery items. There are differing opinions on what age is appropriate, whether it should be done at the mall or a tattoo parlor, and even how many is too many. Only you know what's best for your kid when they come to you with a piercing request. Just make sure they don't get it done in a friend's basement with an ice cube and a safety pin. That won't end well. Our mom today is LYNN SEAR from The Sixth Sense. Find us on the socials and write in with your parenting story to [email protected]....more1h 6minPlay
February 20, 2022Episode 90 - Kids and TVSaved by the Bell and Full House, Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls, even MTV/Much Music, it's no surprise TV has had a huge influence on the lives of adults in our generation. Our intent was to discuss parenting and the influence TV has on our kids, but I think we ended up going down more memory lane tangents of our own television history...as it sometimes happens. What are your thoughts on kids watching TV? Do you put time limits on their viewing? Are there certain hours of the day they can watch? What was your relationship with TV as a kid? What are/were your fave shows? Our mom this week is the amazing QUEEN RAMONDA from the movie Black Panther. Follow us on the socials and write in with your parenting stories to [email protected]. February 13, 2022Episode 89 - Love LanguagesUntil recently I had no idea what a love language was. I thought saying mushy words or hugging and kissing were the only ways people showed their adoration for each other. Well, I was wrong and I now understand the different ways we prefer to show as well as receive love. I try to be more mindful of what my husband and kids need to feel special, and I'm working on the hug thing...I'm just not a hugging kind of gal. What are your love languages? Are you aware of the ways your kids, partner, friends prefer to be loved? Our mom this week is the hip and cool REBECCA DONALDSON KATSOPOLIS (aka Aunt Becky) from one of my all time fave 90s shows, Full House. We hope you all have a lovely Valentine's day xoxo! February 06, 2022Episode 88 - Kid FashionAlright mom voice fans, buckle up. I give some opinions in this episode that are probably not very popular and many of you are screaming at me. You know what though, that's what podcasts are about, expressing opinions and having people who are listening in their cars/office/home/etc. scream at their devices because they don't agree. Today we discuss kid fashion and some of the controversies that go along with that. From our own fashion choices in the 80s and 90s, to gender specific sections in stores, and then everyone's favourite...school dress codes. What are your thoughts on the topic? Are you for or against uniforms in all schools to create an equal playing field? I usually try to stay neutral and not step on toes...I just want everyone to be happy and have fun...but I may have opened a can of worms with this topic. Our mom this week is JANE VILLANUEVA from the show, Jane the Virgin. Write in to us with your thoughts at [email protected] or find us on the socials. We hope you enjoy! :-)...more1h 12minPlay
January 30, 2022Episode 87 - Snow DaysDo you live in the northern region of the world? Do you look out your window in the colder months and see snow at least once? If so, you probably have a first hand understand about the love/hate relationship of snow days and just days that are cold and you don't want to go out. I am all about sending the kids out with their mittens, hats, and snowsuits, but I am happy to stay inside drinking a cup of tea. We both agree that we just aren't the kind of moms that like to play, and that includes in the snow. How do you approach this snowy time of year? Do you get obscene amounts of the stuff, or is it more of a light dusty and a novelty? What do you love or hate about it? Our mom this week is DIDI PICKLES from the classic 90s cartoon, Rugrats. Find us on the socials and send in your parenting stories at [email protected]. Enjoy! :-)...more1hPlay
January 23, 2022Episode 86 - Turning 40!According to the obscene amount of movies I have watched over the years, there's one thing women (99% of the time it's women) fear the most. It's not starting a new job, it's not living on her own, it's not even having a kid...although that usually sparks some slight fear...nope, it's turning the big 4-0! But why? I'm not sure why being 40 is such a death sentence. Maybe back in our parent's days it was stressful because it meant you all of a sudden had to shop at the "frumpy dress and shoulder pad" store, but now you can still be hip and with it. Women today can be 40 and still do things they did in their 20s...but maybe some things should be left in that decade. How do you feel about this milestone? If you're already there, how do you feel now that you've reached it? Turning 40 is fabulous! Embrace it. Our mom this week is MARIA VON TRAPP from The Sound of Music. January 09, 2022Episode 85 - Embracing Routine After the HolidaysI happens to all of us. You spend two weeks of sleeping in, eating fast food or the remnants of cheese and cracker plates, and constantly asking "what day is it again?"and now that decorations are put away, you're getting ready to step back into the office. For some, routine is easy to slide back into, for others it's a struggle. How do you get back into the swing of things after the lazy days of the holidays? Do you find it hard, or do you stick with your routine even when you're not at work? How do you get your kids back to their good habits? Today we ease into the new year with how we embrace our routines after being out of them for a bit. Our mom this week is DEBBIE from the movie This is 40. Don't forget you can find and interact with us on the socials, and you can write in with your parenting stories to [email protected]. Enjoy!...more57minPlay
January 02, 2022Episode 84 - Happy New Year 2022Just like last week, this episode is a quick shout out to all our listeners. We wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and we hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. You'll notice it's another rough cut, no edits, no bells and whistles, just us saying hey. We'll be back next week with a brand new full episode. I hope you're all full of appetizers and cheese...because that's all I seem to eat during this time of year. Thanks for all of those who listened during 2021, I hope you stick around to see what 2022 has in store! A big mom voice welcome to everyone just discovering us, we hope you like what you hear....more8minPlay
