Why did VWC have a year of expansion?
Have you ever heard or made the statement: “I don’t have enough room”? Can you imagine being pushed out of your own birthday party? Jesus Christ has been largely removed from Christmas. Not to mention our schools and businesses! The Holy Spirit is asking us tonight: “Will you make room for Jesus in all areas of your life”? This is our new start for the new year -2021!

Text: *Luke 2:1-7 – V.7 there was “NO ROOM” for them in the inn! ROOM = space, location, opportunity!  

                                     #1 MOTIVE   

*Read Matt. 8:18-20 –V.18 Jesus wants us to live from the other side! V.19-20 we must first make room for Jesus in us before we can faithfully follow Him to the finish line! See Luke 4:28-30 drove.                                          Read Matt. 19:16-30 - compare the rich young ruler’s heart to the disciples then V.27 question.

                                     #2 MOTION    

*Read Isa. 54:1-3 –  V.2 enlarge the “PLACE”- same as “ROOM” in our text – room, spot, condition.  MOTION for expansion by making room for Jesus!

*Read Luke 8:1, 11 & 15 close with V.8–  (Ezek. 36:26-27) Decree: I have a “100 fold heart”!

Illustration: If you plant for a year, plant grain.

If you plant for ten years, plant trees.

If you plant for 100 years, plant men.

If you plant for Eternity, plant the Word.

An old Professor of Biology used to hold a little brown seed in his hand. 'I know just exactly the composition of this seed. It has in it nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon. I know the exact proportions. I can make a seed that will look exactly like it. But if I plant my seed it will come to nought; its elements will be simply absorbed in the soil. If I plant the seed God made, it will become a plant, because it contains the mysterious principle which we call the 'life principle'. The Bible looks like other books. We cannot understand altogether its marvelous power. Planted in good ground it shows that it has the life principle in itself: it brings forth spiritual fruit.

“Don’t Delay – Do!”
DESTINY not DELAY! “Progress” is the plan (faces inward) of God, “Delay” is the strategy (faces outward) of the devil.

SATANIC DELAY is a dangerous attack that is very deceptive. It can put your dreams to a standstill bring your HOPE (expectation) to nothing! On 11/22/20 Sun. P.M. we ministered on: “Delays, Detours then Destruction”! I sense we need to remind ourselves God is always on time and is a DOER!  Decree: “I am in perfect step with the Lord, inside and out.” 

Text: *James 1:21-25 – V.22 “BE” = “to BECOME” doers of the Word – “a performer; specifically a poet”!

*Read Luke 12:42-44 –V.43 the Blessed is the doers!  Read John 13:27 – do quickly!

                                     #2 ASSURED    

*Read 1 Thess. 2:17-20 – V.18 Satan “HINDERED” = “impede” or “detain”.  Paul knew what he wanted to do was God’s will. He had that witness in his heart, but Satan raised several oppositions and blocked him, and not even once. See Romans 1:13 – 2nd witness!

*Read John 5:1-9 - note V.5 -6– 38 years (the devil had delayed this man- no help from family or friends)! Close with Ruth chap. 1- the blessing remains, don’t delay get back to the place of obedience!  Repentance: O LORD, forgive me in any way I have stepped out of your will for my life. Have mercy on me and restore me to Your will once again, in Jesus name! DESTINY not DELAY!

Illustration: One day George Muller began praying for 5 of his friends. After many months, 1 of them came to the Lord. 10 years later, 2 otherswere converted. It took 25 years before the 4th man was saved. Muller persevered in prayer until his death for the 5th friend, and throughout those 52 years he never gave up hoping that he would accept Christ! His faith was rewarded, for soon after Muller's funeral the last one was saved.

“Distractions” 

"DISTRACT" = to prevent (someone) from giving full attention to something or someone! *Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Success or failure is completely dependent upon us! As far as the Lord is concerned, we always triumph (2 Cor. 2:14) as we are victorious (1 Cor. 15:57 & 1 John 5:4)! Be mindful of the devil’s "DISTRACTIONS" by looking to Him (Psalms 121) from where our help comes!   See 1 Cor. 7:35 …and that ye may attend upon the Lord without DISTRACTION.

Text: *Matt. 14:22-33– note V.26-27 – Peter “SAW” and "HEARD" Jesus he walked on the storms of life! But distraction came in V.30 Peter “SAW” the wind boisterous – Can you see the wind? NO – just the effects but he could see Jesus!

                                     #1 What CLOUD   

*Reread Matt. 14:30 & Hebrews 12:1 (AMP) - As a child of God, you are following the CLOUD, not the CROWD, says the Father!  Note Hebrews 11:39-40 ”ALL” See Heb. 2:1 (AMP) pay much CLOSER ATTENTION!

                                     #2 What CARE     

*Reread Matt. 14:22– Jesus “COMSTRAINED” His disciples to go to the other side – His WORD as seed! See Mark 4:14-20 – note V.19 “CARES” = to divide by “DISTRACTIONS”! (1 Peter 5:6-7)

                                     #3 What CAUSE

*Read Exodus 5:1-9– note V.9 – note when we try to come out of EGYPT (BONDAGE) by the WORD the devil will try to “DISTRACT” us! We cannot work for the Lord as we work for the devil!  

Close with Heb. 10:35-38- keep your eyes on the prize (Phil. 3:14) Jesus is coming in your situation by your faith in Him and one day He is coming de-fact-o.

Food 4 Thought: “I wanna hold your hand” – remember who holds your hand holds your heart!

(Your hands love your face. On average, most of us touch our faces 1 to 3 times every 5 minutes, which adds up to between 200 and 600 times a day: that in the physical how much more important in the spiritual with whom we hold HANDS! )

*Read Jer. 1:4-10 -Note God FORMED (yaw-tsar') = to mould into a form as a potter:  See: *Jer.18:1-11 – note V.4 & 6 God is ready, willing and able to “MAKE US AGAIN” because of His grace and mercy!

*Read Rev. 1:18– “KEYS” are used by the “HANDS” {HELL HATH ENLARGED ITSELF – Isa. 5:13-14}! *Read Rev. 13:16 – Note right “HAND” is for power – WORK! Defeated by Jesus sitting on God’s right hand.

*Read Matt. 8:1-3 & Mark 5:23 & Mark 16:18– note we are to follow in Christ’s footsteps WORKING the Word! Our “HANDS” in His “HANDS”!

When Christian Herter was governor of Massachusetts, he was running hard for a second term in office. One day, after a busy morning chasing votes (and no lunch) he arrived at a church barbecue. It was late afternoon and Herter was famished. As Herter moved down the serving line, he held out his plate to the woman serving chicken. She put a piece on his plate and turned to the next person in line. "Excuse me," Governor Herter said, "do y ou mind if I have another piece of chicken?" "Sorry," the woman told him. "I'm supposed to give one piece of chicken to each person."  "But I'm starved," the governor said. "Sorry," the woman said again. "Only one to a customer." 
 Governor Herter was a modest and unassuming man, but he decided that this time he would throw a little weight around. "Do you know who I am?" he said. "I am the governor of this state." 
 "Do you know who I am?" the woman said. "I'm the lady in charge of the chicken. Move along, mister."

                                          “BELIEVING =  RECEIVING”

Matthew 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, “BELIEVING”, ye shall receive.

“Beliefs” are developed in the course of life, your “beliefs” function like filters on a camera through which you see life. “Beliefs” decide your focus (last week’s word) — what you receive and what you reject! 

                                     #1 REPENTANCE   
Text: * Matt. 9:27-31 -you become a product from what you believe! Note they believed and confessed Jesus as “The Son of David” meaning God’s Messiah = Anointed- Acts 10:38 & Isa 10:27 yoke destroyed by God’s Anointing! See Isa. 35:5 & 42:6-7 God’s Word always comes to pass!
Your BELIEFS Create Your REALITY!

                                     #2 REDEMPTION
*Read 1 Peter 1:18-19 – now you see your value! Jesus that died for you LIVES: See Job 19:25 -! (Benefits of REDEMPTION: ETERNAL LIFE(Revelation 5:9-10), FORGIVENESS(Ephesians 1:7), RIGHTEOUSNESS (Romans 5:17), FREEDOM FROM THE LAW’S CURSE(Galatians 3:13), ADOPTION (Galatians 4:5), DELIVERANCE (Titus 2:14), PEACE (Colossians 1:18-20), and the INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT(1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

*Read Mark 3:5 & 8:25 – Jesus Christ wants to restore your ability to “WORK & SEE” for the Father’s will!

Close with 2 Cor. 5:19& Rev. 22:2-(AMPC) – RESTORED to favor and fellowship forever!
In 1963...65% of Americans said they believed in the absolute truth of all words in the Bible. By 1978, the proportion of the population holding this belief had declined to 38%. The last poll was 28% represents a new low in literal belief in the Bible! From the garden the devil has offered a substitute and we receive from what we believe! Choose wisely!

“PUSH, PULL, PROPEL”

“PUSH” = movement more by the external – TO or FROM! “PULL” = movement toward! “PROPEL” = movement more by the internal!

In your daily life constantly, you are being: PUSHED, PULLED, or PROPELLED! Each one of us must come to a decision as to whom or what motivates us in a moment by moment basis! The Lord desires to “PROPEL” you from fellowship!

Text: *Rom. 8:1-4 & 14-17– note V.14  – “LED” (ag'-o) = to lead, fig. to induce – “INWARD” Note V.16 – “BEARETH WITNESS” (summartureō) how? By testifying jointly throughout the universe that by concurrent evidence you are God’s child and being “LED” – “PROPELLED” by His Spirit in your spirit being joint-heirs with Christ!
#1 Lord LEAD   

*Read Luke 4:1-2 -Note Holy Spirit LED a spiritually FULL JESUS into the wilderness to overcome for us – 40 days for 40 years:  See: *Joshua 5:1-6 – “PUSHED & PULLED” by FEELINGS

                                     #2 Lucifer LEAD 

*Read Mark 5:1-9– the man was being “PUSHED, PULLED, and PROPELLED” by these 6,000 evil spirits! to STAND! (Mark 4:35-41 – Note “LED - PROPELLED”  through the devil to a man in need)

                                     #3 Loosed LEAD

*Read Mark 5:15-20 – note the way we get closer to the Lord is by obedience! When the Son makes us free walk in that freedom! Was he to preach the whole Bible – No! His testimony!

Close with John 4:1-30& 39-42- notice Jesus was “PROPELLED” to her to loose her and then she walked in that freedom bringing freedom to others!
John Wesley: “I want the whole Christ for my Savior, the whole Bible for my book, the whole Church for my fellowship, and the whole world for my mission field.” We can have all of God’s Promises but we must let the Word be more real to us than the moment! Because as we are led into freedom in truth, we are leading others.

                                               “SAVED: Now What” 
Food 4 Thought: On all of life’s subjects you can apply this question: what I wish I knew…! We have all heard the old adage: “EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER.” I agree but we can save ourselves a lot of time and trouble by becoming teachable to those around us! We can learn from other’s successes and failures! 

Text: *1 Peter 1:22-25 & 2:1-3– note V.22  – “OBEYING” (hupakoē) = attentive listening with submission to the Holy Spirit of truth. Note V.23  –  “BEING BORN AGAIN” not of ourselves but by Jesus Himself! (Repentance causes us to be a new creation in Christ Jesus 2 Pet. 3:9 & 2 Cor. 5:17)

                                     #1 STRUGGLE  

*Read Gen. 3:17 (CEV) See 1 Tim. 6:12 – “FIGHT”! Remember your Lord’s struggle: *Luke 4:13 - opportunity

                                     #2 STAND

*Read Eph. 6:10-18 – Note “STAND” in some form 4 times then we can “WITHSTAND” (ANTH-is'-tay-mee) to stand against - OPPOSE! See Acts 5:20– see the apostles freed by Jesus then STAND!

                                     #3 STRONGER

*Read 2 Sa. 3:1 & Gen. 25:21-23 – note David & Jacob a type of the spirit grows stronger daily!

Close with 1 Cor. 16:13& 1 Tim. 2:4- let your strength come from the Lord by receiving the truth!
***Two friends played basketball in a nearby public school. Nearby, an elderly janitor waited patiently until the friends finished playing. Invariably he sat there reading his Bible. One day his friend asked him what he was reading. The man answered, ‘The book of Revelation.’ Surprised, his friend asked if he understood it. ‘Oh, yes,’ the man assured him. `I understand it.’ ‘What does it mean?’ Quietly the janitor answered, `It means that Jesus is gonna win.’” In truth, “That’s the best commentary I have ever heard on that book. Jesus is going to win.”!

                               “COMPLETED not DEPLETED” 

Decree: My cup is full and running over (Ps. 23:5)! In the presence of my enemy!

“CHOICES” are becoming more and more limiting during this trying time! Whether we want to admit it or even think about it one world government is coming, Why? Because the Bible tells us so! (Hananiah was called Shadrach. Mishael was called Meshach. Azariah was called Abednego- they chose freedom in bondage and were made free) But in this season of uncertainty we have the ability to “CHOOSE” faith, hope and love (1 Cor. 13:13) which releases joy!

Text: *Col. 2:6-10– note V.10  – you ARE “COMPLETE” (plēroō) = full, furnished and satisfied! Note this same Greek word is translated “FULFILLED” 45 times: see: (Matt. 2:15, 17 & 23)! REMEMBER God’s Plan: Jer. 29:11!

“PASSOVER 2020”
The COVID-19 virus (AR. Cases 1202, 24 deaths with 329 recovered) is creating a panic we have NOT seen in our lifetimes! Our Father in Heaven is a God of perfect proportion in love and grace to His children! Because of the Cross and our faith in Him we have hope this morning – see 1 Tim.1:1 Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope!
Text: *1 Cor. 5:6-8– note V.7 – Christ OUR “PASSOVER” (pas'-khah) IS sacrificed for us - note present tense, this was written some 25 years after the Crucifixion! Let that sink in: Jesus died for you – for me!

*Read Isa. 9:6-7 – Note V.6 Jesus was born as a “CHILD” in the flesh feelings and temptations just like you and me! But He laid down His will-life (1 John 3:16): see Phil. 2:5-11!

#2 The PASSION of Passover 

*Read John 12:27 & 13:1 – Note Gen. 3:15 – waiting on God’s Timing! Having Judas and others to betray Him - see Psalms 41:9& John 6:66 – note many of His disciples went back! (Matt. 9:36 & Mark 1:41)

#3 The PERMANENCE of Passover 

*Read Heb. 10:10-14 – note “PERFECTED FOREVER” by sanctification: see Rev. 22:11-13! Close with Col. 1:14 – we have redemption through the BLOOD of our PASSOVER LAMB!
