The old building that housed the Annison Funeral Parlour has been a vital building to the local community for generations, as the Annison family business evolved throughout the years.

Now home to a late-night pharmacy, and, allegedly, a whole host of otherworldly entities and residual hauntings, could the Annison Building be haunted by the ghosts of those who passed through here on their way to their final resting place?

Back in the 90s, Fox Hollow Farm in Indiana, was home to a monster named Herb Baumeister, who was responsible for at least 12 murders on the property — although based on the fact that 10,000 fragments of human remains were found, the real number is likely to be higher.

When the Graves family moved into the 18-acre property in the early 2000s, they were initially sceptical of the paranormal. That would soon change…

The Ostrich Inn in Colnbrook, Slough, has stood as a welcoming coaching inn for centuries, now serving as an overnight stop for travellers before they head off to the (equally haunted) Heathrow Airport.

But there’s also a murderous story attached to the Ostrich Inn, which may have served as the inspiration for the Sweeney Todd story that first appeared in Penny Dreadfuls in the 19th Century.

Whether this story is actually true or not, seems not to matter - as regardless of whether you believe in the Jarmans, the ghostly residents of this old pub are not afraid of making themselves known.

Gainsborough Old Hall has seen centuries of history, initially being the family home of the Burghs and then the Hickmans, before going on to be a hub for the community.

It’s now a museum, where you can walk around one of the UK’s best-preserved timber-framed late-medieval manor houses, from the stately Great Hall to the almost untouched medieval kitchens.

But you might also come across some characters from the Old Hall who have long since passed away…
