In this episode, we’re talking about Reginald Hudlin’s 1992 movie Boomerang. With a story by Eddie Murphy and a screenplay by Saturday Night Live writers Barry W. Blaustein and David Sheffield, this was megastar Murphy’s first time taking the lead in an adult romantic comedy and became the 18th most successful film at the US box office that year. Sitting down to some asparagus with us at Lady Eloise’s impossibly long table tonight are Jacqueline, played by Robin Givens; Angela, played by Halle Berry and, of course, Marcus portrayed by Eddie Murphy. Do these relationships feel like the perfect pedicure we’ve been waiting all our lives for, or do they signal the end of the road?

In this episode, we’re talking about the haunting 2011 drama Drive, directed by Nicholas Winding Refn. With a screenplay by Hossein Amini and based on the novel by James Sallis, this won Refn the Best Director award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and saw Ryan Gosling take on his first lead role in an action film. Tonight we’ll be trying to be neighbourly to The Driver, played by Ryan Gosling and Irene, played by Carey Mulligan. Is this the deluxe version of a relationship or is it just about standard?

In this episode, we’re talking about the hugely influential and gigantic box office hit The Graduate from 1967, directed by Mike Nichols with a screenplay by Buck Henry and Calder Willingham, based on the novel by Charles Webb, this film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning Best Director for Nichols. Tonight we’ll be pouring a scotch for Benjamin, played by Dustin Hoffman and Mrs Robinson, played by Anne Bancroft, before buying a burger for Elaine, played by Katherine Ross. Does this affair between Ben and Mrs Robinson really mean something, or might they as well have been shaking hands?

Pulling on Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon masks with us tonight are Johnny Utah, played by Keanu Reeves, and Bodhi, played by Patrick Swayze. Is this relationship the ride of a lifetime during 50 year storm, or should we back off Warchild, seriously.

With a screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna and based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel rumoured to be based on her time working under Vogue editor Anna Wintour, this film earned Meryl Streep and legendary costume designer Patricia Field Oscar nominations. Tonight we’re opening up our own hideous skirt convention and dragging in Andy, played by Anne Hathaway along with her boyfriend Nate, played by Adrian Grenier and her boss Miranda, played by Meryl Streep. As Andy tries to negotiate and balance these two crucial relationships in her life, which do we think is the corn chowder and which the cube of cheese?
