  • Sin Corrupts The Earth | Ep. 007
When we hear about the flood, everyone automatically thinks God was angry. After all, everyone but believing Noah and his family died. But we see the heart of God is filled with sadness and grief over the corruption of His creation. Yes, God is angry at sin, and can’t bear the thought of His created people turing away from him. He was sad that mankind chose sin and death rather than life with him. But He made a promise to Adam and Eve and He had to keep it.

  • Jesus’ Early Family Tree: Filling the Earth | Ep. 006
Many years took place between the story of Cain and Abel in the Bible and Noah and the Flood. In Genesis Chapter 5, we get a glimpse into the early geneology of Jesus' ancestors, beginning with Seth.

Looking at genealogies could get a little tedious, and even boring. But when we dunk ourselves into the details, the stories become more fascinating. Jesus' ancestry was full of sinners, but He was not - He was fully human, fully God, completely perfect to be the Messiah God promised the world.

  • Cain and Abel: Overcome By Sin | Ep. 005
The story of Cain and Abel is often glossed over in children's Bibles and storytime. Admittedly, it's not the happiest of stories; it's downright upsetting and full of evil! We can learn such incredible lessons from Cain, though, which is why we tackle Genesis Chapter 4 head on in this week's episode of Donuts and Devos.

Jealousy. Anger. Spite. Murder. This Bible story has all the makings of a great plot line, but not in a good way for Cain! Cain was jealous of his brother Abel for receiving God's approval. He was angry that he didn't get something his brother got, so he did something very bad.

God could see the brothers' hearts and He saw that Abel's was full of faith and trust. Cain's heart was full of unbelief, which is why sin overcame him and he killed his brother. Cain remained unrepentant for his actions and his ultimate punishment came from his own doing. He walked away from the presence of God.

When we sin and do wrong, we need to be repentant and ask for the forgiveness only God can give through His Son, Jesus!

  • Sin Enters The World | Ep. 004
Adam and Eve lived in the beautiful Garden of Eden where God placed them. They were happy taking care of the animals and the land. God was with them there, and life was perfect. Until...temptation came slithering up to Eve one day...

Satan tempted Eve by pointing out that she would be just like God if she ate the fruit from that tree. When Eve took that first bite and ate from the tree, she also gave some to Adam who also ate. And in doing this, they disobeyed God.

In spite of their sin, God loved Adam and Eve so much that he promised a Savior when He cursed Satan. "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between her offspring and your offspring; he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heal,"

Adam and Eve were encouraged by God’s promise knowing that though they had sinned God still loved them.
