- Trade: Intropin
- Class: Vasopressor /Sympathomimetic
- MOA: Stimulates alpha and beta adrenergic receptors resulting in inotropy and increased cardiac output while maintaining dopaminergic induced vasodilatory effects.
- Indications: Hypotension and decreased cardiac output associated with cardiogenic shock and septic shock. Hypotension after ROSC. Symptomatic Bradycardia that doesn’t respond to atropine
- Contraindications: VF, VT, or other ventricular arrhythmias
- Side effects : Tachycardia, arrhythmias, skin and soft tissue necrosis, severe HTN, angina, dyspnea, headache, N/V

Adults: 2-20 mcg/kg/min IV/IO
