In Chapters 11–13 of my memoir, When Sex Meets God: A Midlife Unraveling, the story shifts from what I thought was happening to what my body already knew.
Long before my conscious mind was ready to face change, my body was offering clues—subtle signals, sensations, and disruptions that pointed toward an impending midlife unraveling. Rather than listening, I resisted. I stayed focused on what I thought should be happening, while something deeper was trying to emerge into consciousness.
Although the memoir is written as a personal story, it naturally follows Carl Jung’s theory of individuation. In this video, I bring the Jungian psychology that lives beneath the narrative into the foreground, exploring how the body often becomes the first messenger of the psyche’s need for transformation.
This video is for anyone who has:
- Ignored bodily signals they didn’t understand
- Felt “off” without knowing why
- Experienced physical or emotional cues before a major life shift
- Wondered how individuation shows up in real life, not just theory
Your body is not betraying you.
It may be inviting you into the next phase of becoming.
