This week, we begin our Sight & Sound Season where we cover 5 films no longer on the Top 100 list and 5 films new to the Top 100 list in 2022. This episode is about Werner Herzog's 1972 film, "Aguirre, the Wrath of God." We discuss the background of the film and its troubled production which mirrors the film itself. Klaus Kinski's assholery is explored in depth, as well as the various injuries inflicted (by Klaus) on set. After we cover the background, we dive into an at-length discussion of the film. Finally, we each pair the film with another for a total of two double bills involving this amazing film.
