I have a Quakenbush safety rifle (22LR single shot) from pre-1900 thought I thought would be good. It’s not in museum condition, but it is fairly clean. Would it be blasphemy to have it threaded for a suppressor and ruin the historical factor? I was also looking at that dark mountain stowaway rifle; but do ya ll know if it only comes in left handed bolt configuration? What did you have as a first rifle or give to your kids as a first rifle? What would be some features you would look for in a rifle for a kid who’s started shooting? Thanks for the great content! Desert D Deagleton - Would porting or something like a Cutts Compensator affect the reliability of a long recoil operated shotgun like the Remington Model 11?

Tony C - A buddy and I were just discussing buying a linear compensator for our Ar15s. We really don't know much about them but thought it would be a cheaper route to lower the decibels as well as not having to go and get a tax stamp. Just wanted know your thoughts, pros/cons on them. Do any of yous guys use them? I will still be getting a suppressor in the future just was thinking of getting one of these for the time being.

Hunter D - Good dayI have a question for the group, what are your thoughts on the Ruger M77 chambers in 257 Roberts for deer hunting? I know it is an old round but I have loved this gun for whitetail, turkey head shots and other exotic deer in the Texas Hill Country, Most of my shots have been within 200 yards and this gun has always been a tac driver and has always provided a 1 shot kill with 100Gr ballistic tip sierra, loaded with 40gr of H-380 powder. This is a gun a family friend gifted me for my 6th birthday 30 years ago he built the load for and sighted it in (i have never adjusted the scope) and has been my go-to hunting rifle. I'm going to pass this down to my son and i want another deer rifle for myself and I want something that can reach out a little further and have a little more stopping power. What is your suggestion for a great hunting rifle that will last the rest of my life and possibly be good for deer and possible elk, bison, and other mid to large exotics?
