  • 10 Years Of His iPhone
Today on the show, Steven catches up with an old friend to discuss his decade with the iPhone. Ken Reid used to be part of the RNIB, where Steven previously worked, and back in 2013 Ken shared his concerns about the new device and whether or not it would be something actually useful to him. So what happened 10 years on? Today we find out.
Also, Steven reads through more of your feedback - this time without his trusty sidekick. Shaun decided to go for a walk this morning and as a result, appears to have broken his leg. You can expect huge sympathy and concern from Steven. Oh, sorry we meant hilarity and laughter!

  • Audiobooks & Apps
Today on the show, Steven and Shaun talk through some of the audiobook-related news following our story last week on the use of artificial voices for Apple Books.
Steven shows off some of the new voices that are coming out, adding to the two we heard in Thomas Domville's report last week. Plus there's news on a new way to get your Audible audiobooks onto other devices, such as the Humanware Victor Reader Stream. And, Thomas Domville is back with another review of the Bookshare app for iOS, which comes with its own challenges.

  • Guide Dogs & Canes - How They Can Work Together
It's a slightly different weekend show today as Shaun Preece joins Steven to discuss an issue that has been bothering Steven for a while: talking down the white cane while talking up guide dogs.
Steven believes that both options are suitable for the individual who chooses them and it shouldn't ever be seen as lesser than the other situation. Steven has had occasions where people have told him that not having a guide dog tells them that he is not really blind and he wanted to talk about that today following his recent comments on the subject on Twitter.
During that Twitter discussion, he came into contact with a mother of a blind son who has been learning how to use both mobility aids as part of his orientation and mobility lessons. Steven invited Dawn Pickering on to the show this week to hear that story and was amazed at the conversation that followed - and he hopes you enjoy it too.
We'll get back to the tech on Monday but enjoy the chat for now and don't forget to keep in touch with us by emailing [email protected] or calling 1-877-803-4567 and leaving us a voicemail.
