The Unforeseen:

The perfect plan to disappear forever. No more cops. No more lawyers. In the end - freedom.

A restaurant full of patrons are enjoying lunch at their favorite downtown Kansas City lunch spot, when a group of armed men enter. The patrons had just become hostages. The elite group of mercenaries have but one goal: to hold the restaurant for less than five hours, until dusk. At sunset, the plan is for the hostages to be released. As the men and women flood into the street, the restaurant will explode and the mercenaries, along with their benefactor, will escape in the chaos created.

Simple enough but for a few minor details. Amongst the hostages is the hierarchy of Kansas City's organized crime; and watching them, four FBI agents. But the plan had accounted for their presence. In fact, the plan had covered every foreseeable contingency. However, the plan could not account for The Unforeseen.  

Amongst the patrons, a man named Logan and his girlfriend, Michele, on a lunch date celebrating an anniversary. Within minutes of being inside the restaurant, one of the armed men places his hands on Michele bloodying her perfect face, inciting Logan's rage. Unbeknownst to the armed men or Michele, Logan, is the world's most skilled killer for hire, who is now determined to avenge her. But he has to do so without revealing himself to the gunman, the FBI or most importantly, Michele.

Deep in the swamps of the Okefenokee lives Hatchetface.

Betrayed by his friends, mauled by alligators and left for dead, he arose from his watery grave with superhuman strength, an indestructible body, and a vengeance as old and unstoppable as the land itself. Consumed with bloodlust, he patrols the swamps, protecting his home with an array of crude weapons.

But Hatchetface is just a myth, cooked up to scare the locals from venturing too far into the swamps.. or at least that's what everyone thinks.

Follow the story as hapless teenagers, land developers, police officers, and more wander a little too far into the darkness. Each of them will soon learn that the legend is all too real.

Professionally, Sheri works as a teacher in Missouri Public schools and plans to retire in May of 2020 with thirty years of experience. She got her bachelor's degree and first masters in special education from Missouri State University. Later, she decided to pursue administration and got a second master's and a specialist degree from Lindenwood University in educational leadership. Instead of becoming a principal or person in a district's central office, she decided to raise her favorite animal: Pomeranian dogs. Sheri raises exotic colored fluffy babies and sells them to people who love to hold their little princesses or princes. She is licensed and inspected by Missouri State, USDA, her vet, and AKC. Someday, when she has less on her plate, Sheri would love to show her dogs.

Cameron is your average, run of the mill, seventeen-year-old kid. He did have some random thoughts over the years that he wasn’t quite like others, but never talked about that with anyone—he didn’t want to be labeled a “freak.” Aside from that, everything about his life is about as normal as could be. He goes to school, has friends, has fun with girls at parties, and just enjoys his altogether normal life, until the night that everything is shattered.

Just before he turns eighteen, Cameron’s parents are murdered by home invaders wearing masks; and that’s when all hell breaks loose—literally.

Cameron is shoved head-first into a world that he never would have believed could possibly be real. A world where monsters truly exist, and not just the human kind, but the kind you read about in books and see in films.
