This convo could go on FOREVER. But basically, non-binary stuff is real, it can be logically explained. Arguments for and against it can get really complicated and messy. A lot of my own ability to come out to myself and others centers around my environment being relatively safe, accepting, and understanding (at least a tiny bit). Topics include tucute vs truscum, transtrender, are our experiences trans ones? Are binary and non-binary trans people working towards different realities? Are we hurting binary trans people by being vocal because our experience is “less real”. More importantly, as a privileged white person (me) am I just looking for something to make me feel oppressed? As a person born with a penis (me) am I just looking to rid myself of dirty dirty masculinity? These are important questions that loom over us, most times with intent to invalidate and sent from our society. Personally my response to those would be, no I am just attempting to be a more successful, true, and happy me by identifying as and being non-binary. I’m not looking for praise or to seem cool or different. I can logically and concisely explain why I think this way and what the experience means to me. It’s real and not just a fantasy constructed for attention. Again, this convo could go on forever, but I know these topics are flying around so many enby people’s heads every day.
