In the mid 1930's Cajun musicians were adapting to the more modern string band sound. Many of the groups in south Louisiana were traveling to Dallas to audition to the labels; The Jolly Boys of Lafayette were one of them. They recorded one session in 1937 and along with Joe Falcon, they were one of the last groups to record Cajun music with a accordion until the 1940's.
