Dorothy and friends are FINALLY admitted to see the Wizard.. but not before Tara and EmKay unpack the history behind Dorothy's favorite expression: "Jiminy Crickets!" and uncover some amusing cut lines and scenes. Episode highlights include illuminating the inspiration and design behind the throne room, the special effects that went into creating the Wizard's talking head and voice, EmKay putting Tara to the test to define some advanced level spelling words and some personal reflections on being given a broomstick to take the long way around. Today Tara and EmKay are ELATED to kick off a brand new series: The Slipperhood! New episodes will be dropped on Fridays throughout the summer as a space for conversation and celebration to honor those who feel a kindred connection with Dorothy in their own unique way. Our first guest is the incredible Tiffany Sutton (@followtheyellowbrickgirl), an actress living in Los Angeles who shares her passion for the ruby slippers (you're not ready, ya'll!!), memories from her visit to The Land of Oz, Disney bounding on her instagram and her dreams for the future as she roller-skates down her yellow brick road.

Before our friends are finally admitted to see the Wizard, Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion has a few vibrato-filled proclamations to make about genuflecting chipmunks, which leads Tara and EmKay to realize they don't remember any lyrics from their time touring the musical "Sister Act." Whoops. Other deep dives include a moment of appreciation for the Art Deco inspired set, the origins of the phrase "king of the forest," some proposals for more appropriate and inclusive lyric rewrites, and the frustration of being told to "go away" by people who are supposed to be our leaders. Genuflect, ya'll.
