Slow start but great finish

I'm not sure if it was the choice of voice actor (which I didn't care for at all. Her voice was annoying) or the actual book, but the beginning was slow and rather an almost Jane Eyre-ish (a story I loooove btw) wannabe. Once I got more into it, the story was intriguing. I couldn't stop listening! The ending left my mouth hanging open and I was frantically searching for the next book. I can't wait to see reading.

Good story, narration was annoying

The overall story was good, but the narrators voice was monotone and breathy. It took away from the experience.

This narrator will melt your knickers!

I absolutely LOVED this audiobook! I think English accents are hella sexy anyway, but narrator Rob Groves has an incredible smooth-as-warm-pudding voice that just melts me. This is the story of James, a Dominant, and several of his submissives. Rob manages to master both James's steely determination and warm nurturing affection when dealing with his subs. Make no mistake: this book features discipline, bondage, vulgar language and hotter than hell sex. However, these individual stories are ROMANCES and the true emotional connections between James and his submissives are at the crux of each relationship. It's a wonderful ride that I strongly recommend to everyone who enjoys dominance erotica.

Narrator was perfect for this story

Such a great book. The narrator was wonderful and perfect for this book. He had the right accent and really seemed very confident as the character of James, the dominant. The story is delightful. It is the memoirs of a dominant as he first enters the lifestyle and continues with some of his different experiences. It was not chronological but it worked really well. I really liked the ending which I will not give away in this review. The author does a great job of bringing the story to life. I enjoyed this book immensely.

Perfect, Wonderful & Amazing Real Story

I really love James Collier's characteristic. He's romantic, gentle and a fantastic dominant. Can't belief there's still such gentleman out there. Mirren's story sounds like a fairytale and am really curious what happened after that weekend as it was not mentioned. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story of your life & I really enjoyed reading it. Really hope that there will be more books from James Collier and Maggie Carpenter! Excellent series

This entire series is exceptionally well done. Ms. Tilton has totally nailed the timing and images for this genre. Everything I've read of hers has had well developed characters, and extremely hot scenarios. I'm going shopping again for more of her different stories.

Yet another scintillating book from this author

This is the seventh in the Institute series by this author, and yet again she does not disappoint. Olivia Rogers has a secret desire to be owned and mastered by a dominant man, but cannot convey these desires to her boyfriend, Jared. Unknown to her, she is being watched by Gabriel, the trainer at the Institute, where women are sent to be trained in all aspects of submission and punishment, to be sold to a wealthy businessman for his harem.

It is only after being thoroughly trained by Gabriel, in all aspects of submission, that Olivia comes to realise just how much she needs to be mastered, and wishes that Jared had discovered this when they were together. In her usual inimitable style, the author draws the reader in to the erotic and compulsive world that brings the uninhibited world of Dominance and submission so vividly to life. Yet another five star book from Emily Tilton, and it is easy to see how her books continually rise to the top of the bestseller lists for the genre. Highly recommended.

Sizzling!

Oh man, another sizzling HOT story! I was hooked from page one and read it straight through, seriously. Great characters, strong plot, well written and hot enough to melt your Kindle, what more could you ask for? You don't have to take my word for it, quit reading here and read the book for yourself. Heartwarming and unforgettable

I absolutely love this series and I. Had hoped that River would be able to find something or someone to call his own. Someone to be able to see through the bullshit and help him wake up. Kai and Wen did a wonderful job bringing this book to life and pulling the emotion through. I am definitely telling my friends to not only read this series but listen to it as well!!!! I can't wait to see what comes next!!!

Yes, I would listen to River James again. Like Keanna, I have a soft spot for those broken boys. They can never really escape me. And River is broken and beautiful and so deserving. He deserves the happiness he has always kept from himself. He deserves a chance to be clean.

Who was your favorite character and why?

River. River is my favorite character. It wasn't always that way, but getting his story, hearing his troubles have made me a forever River James fan and lover.

What about Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott s performance did you like?

As always, these two rock the chemistry.

Too long and a missed opportunity

Only the interplay with the other family members saved this book. It had an good but incomplete ending. The fact that the couple was interracial was ignored and never addressed which ion one hand is a sweet fantasy but sooo unrealistic as to be absurd. The only point to the plot was how hot the relationship could be if it was made to seem illicit even though both were consenting adults, and how much of an overprotective bully big brother could be. Not a great premise for the entire plot.- boring. Ok on the Romance Package but not worth the credit and too bad as this series is normally better than this.

I really liked this book and would recommend this book. I wish this author didn't use God's name in vain. You don't have to use " GD " to have a great book. It had a great storyline and sexual storylines. I wish I could have read more of their story about the wedding and maybe some children. I wish her friend would have gotten with his brother Flynn or her brother Drake.

Wasn't my favorite and Harmony was a little to winey for me. She couldn't stop and put her self in his position for 1 min. Other than that..I loved it. traditional love story. Can't wait to start the next.

Loved the book--Audio is awful

What didnt you like about Heather Buttlers performance?

Her voice just irritated me--I won't buy anything she narrates in the future--even if I love the author's work.

Any additional comments?

I read the Kindle version of this book and love it. However, the narrator ruined my perception of Tilly, and I had to re-read the book to get her true essence back in my mind. She is a pivotal character in this series; therefore, I needed to find the real Tilly again before I could continue to enjoy the series.

5 Cardinals Rule Stars

I eye read this book last year, it was the first time I had read of a female Dom or Domme. I was highly interested, just in the dynamic she had with her clients Bob to be exact. But Tillys story stuck with me all this time. When I would read a BDSM book featuring a Female Dom she would pop into my head. Books that stick with you dont come around very often thats for sure. (Or they dont for me)

I have all of Tymbers work on audio, I didn't put two and two together that this was Tillys story because well I thought of Tillys Rule not Cardinal.. So I was looking thought my Audible and reading blurb something I hardly do and say Tilly so I had to listen ASAP.

I think I loved it even more in Audio! The narration I really enjoyed she did a great job in my opinion.

Chris was Tillys Dom but Landry is Chriss Dom.. Yeah this are about to get shaky.

Its a great story of living through hard times and turning yourself around. Coming out stronger then when you started in so many ways.

I cant say I am a huge Chris fan but I get why he did what he did (a little bit). I dont like it and I still want Lan to, (be all I will hold him for you haha.. )

I had a feeling Landry had something up his sleeve the whole time even if he said he didn't. I think though I was mostly surprised at Landry and his feeling for Tilly. There connection kind of blew me away at how strong it got.

Then you have Tilly and here feelings or hard feelings I should say toward Chris, not that he didn't deserve it because he totally did. But that relationship was kind of interested to watch.

Over all I enjoyed this book whether its with my eyes or my ears. I hope others check it out because it was pretty awesome.

Big Impact

This story has a very emotional pull. Tilly has lost everything that had meaning is able to pull from an inter strength and has reinvented herself.
