I totally enjoyed this!
Wow, this book was a surprise, in a fantastic way! I don't normally read pirate type stories, either. Wasn't expecting this to be so good, I just guessed it couldn't be near as good as the Runes series by this author (Ednah Walters). But I really like this even better than Runes! The flow is fast & fabulous, I couldn't put the book down, I stayed up way too late reading & had to go to work the next day with a book hangover. The world building kind of unfolds as Lexi finds things out through the the story, which kind of pulled me into the plot. The characters are unique with Lexi being easily likable, Storm on the other hand can be such a love him one minute but be mad at him the next -type of character. But by the end of this book, there's barely any mad at him left. I totally enjoyed this, picked up the next book before I even went to bed, read it the next night for another late night. Now I just have to wait for the last book! The only down side to this that I saw, there is cliff-hanger endings after book 1 & 2, & at the time I'm writing this review, book 3 won't be out for almost a month. The wait will drive me bonkers! I also would totally love spin off books (sequel series?) of the 5 other captains finding their mates.
Another Great Book from Ednah Walters
Storm, Phantom Islanders Part I, by Ednah Walters is another great read. I am a big fan of the authorâs other two series, Runes and Guardians, and this one is starting off great.
I was skeptical about this book â âPirates, Really?â but it quickly turn to âOh YEAH. Pirates!â
Lexi, a nanny to a very wealthy family, struggles with a disabled brother and a step-monster who abuses her. Her only focus was taking care of everyone in her life, but that all changed when she rescued Storm.
As captain and leader, Storm, embraces the pirateâs life. He claims her for his own, abducts her, whisks her away to his magical phantom island and hides her away in his castle/fort. I can totally forgive all that because he is a hottie with a definite sensitive side.
