Publisher's Summary:
Woot the Wanderer finds himself at the home of the Tin Woodman of Oz and desires to hear the story of how a woodman made of tin could come to be. The Tin Woodman tells the tale of how he was once Nick Chopper, a man of flesh and blood, in love with a young girl named Nimmie Amee. The Wicked Witch of the East was not happy about this and so she enchanted his axe and had him cut off his limbs one at a time, which were replaced with limbs made of tin.
Nimmie Amee still loved the tin Nick, but he was unable to love her back because he had no heart left in his tin body. The conversation makes the Tin Woodman decide to go and find his old love, with the help of Woot and the Scarecrow. Meeting other characters and adventures along the way, they venture to find Nimmie Amee on a quest to see if she still loves the Tin Woodman and whether the two can live happily ever after.
L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author of children's books, most famous for his The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Baum wrote 13 sequels to his first Oz book and still has a huge fan base to this day. The Tin Woodman of Oz was the 12th book in the Oz series and serves as a back story to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

A Delight
Baum's 12th Oz book. While the stories had become a bit repetitive by this point, the introduction of new characters continues to entertain and there's something just so charming about these. They are, in every respect, American fairytales. If you like fantasy or have kids of any age, get these books.
Amusement and Adventure
The Tin Woodman, along with the Scarecrow and Woot the Wanderer, set off on a journey to find the Tin Woodmanâs former love, Nimmie Amee. Along the way they have many adventures including meeting the Tin Woodmanâs near twin, the Tin Soldier, and meet many old friends including Polychrome the Rainbowâs Daughter.
As with all Oz books, this twelfth one, The Tin Woodman of Oz is filled with adventure and amusement. Wordplay isnât as common in this one, but when itâs there itâs lovely (for example, the Tin Soldierâs original name was Captain Fyter). I highly recommend this and all the Oz books to people of all ages.
No pictures; many typographical errors
There are no pictures in this edition at all. Most, maybe all, of the original editions did have some pictures, which I would have liked to have seen. Also, as with the other free editions in this series, there are many typographical errors, mainly misspellings. There is also the occasional bit of text that's randomly bold for no apparent reason. I suspect that a printed copy of the book was scanned and run through OCR, with no follow-up accuracy check.
The story itself is pretty good. Although all of this series is clearly written for children, it's entertaining enough for adults to enjoy reading as well. But as an adult, I couldn't help but notice that many of the characters in all of these Oz stories, including the central characters, are often conceited, arrogant, and rude, yet at the same time, quite polite about it.
came fast and was nice.
am giving as a gift for a collector.
