    Author: William Buhlman
    Narrator: Arika Rapson
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 11 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-16-14
    Publisher: William Buhlman
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 190 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
Adventures in the Afterlife is a powerful journey of spiritual awakening; a bold quest for answers and enlightenment. The old assumptions of heaven are confronted and an expansive new vision of our continuing life is presented. After being diagnosed with cancer, William Buhlman, author of Adventures Beyond the Body, pursued answers to the mysteries of our existence after death. Confronting his mortality, he experienced profound insights into what lies beyond our physical body. Our journey into the next life is the basis for Adventures in the Afterlife. The author chronicles his out-of-body experiences and lucid dreams through the eyes of a fictional character, Frank Brooks. The insights are sometimes surprising, but a clear message is always apparent; we are powerful, spiritual beings and we shape our reality now and in the future. The purpose of this book is to prepare us for the many thought responsive environments we will experience. William Buhlman teaches and lectures worldwide on the subjects of out-of-body experiences and spiritual empowerment. Visit the author at astralinfo.org.

A linear narrative format helps explain Afterlife
William Buhlman's other books, his youtube or podcast interviews and talks, and his How To Have an Out of Body cd series have made me already familiar with his work. So, I wasn't sure what to think when he announced he was making a fictional book.
But, after reading and listening to Adventures in the Afterlife, I "get it." Many of the experiences he has previously talked about are in here. And, like many other authors or teachers or experiencers of OBE in a greater reality usually not perceived by many people, the stories shared were previously offered in bits and pieces. By writing this book, William Buhlman was able to share various experiences in a linear fashion. This makes things a bit easier to grasp. Not that his experience was linear, but by this type of presentation, the "other side" was introduced in a more organized fashion.
If you enjoy this book, be sure to read the books by Robert Monroe, Richard Martini, Michael Newton, Annie Kagan, Elisa Medhus, Gary Zukav, Eben Alexander, Brian Weiss, and if you want to dig deeper, want to "pop the hood, and see how it works" then read Tom Campbell - all these authors are on Audible.
The great thing abut Adventures in the Afterlife is that it works to introduce people new to the concept of a greater reality, and also serves to make sense of all the bits and pieces people have heard from OBE experiences.
    Interesting listening, mind-expanding concepts.
    It's just what I wanted!)
Thank you for this wonderful, eye opening and inspiring creation). The book changed my life..
I want to thank the narrator as well - very professional work.
    Loved it
Loved it from start to finish. Changed the way I thought about life and afterlife. I would definitely read this again.
    Fantastic!
This book really opened up my mind and helped me stop being so trapped by traditional beliefs of the world. It will made very intrested in OBE's.

    Title: An Introduction to Theosophy
    Subtitle: Theosophical Classics
    Author: Helena P. Blavatsky
    Narrator: Adam Hanin
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 46 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-04-14
    Publisher: Lamp of Trismegistus
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 27 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
Madame Helena Blavatsky, in two introductory essays, offers students of Theosophical beliefs a wide-reaching and worldly outlook on the Ancient Mysteries. While demonstrating that much like Rosicrucian and Masonic philosophy, Theosophy has, at the heart of its doctrine, the concept of a Universal Brotherhood, she by no means forgets to include numerous Eastern influences, which help set apart the distinctive path of Theosophy, from other arenas of esoteric study, while at the same time giving numerous examples of personal expression and choices, within our collective, spiritual interests.
    Members Reviews:
    Where's the rest?
Somehow I'd expected more. This is a very basic introduction. Would be helpful to someone who didn't know anything at all about Theosophy, to help distinguish it from what it isn't. But so much has happened with Theosophy since Ms. Blavatsky's time, that an introduction would need to place it more historically. I could see this as an introduction to a book of much later essays by other, more recent, writers. Perhaps it has served as this. I do wish audio books had more front matter . . .
    Illuminating information
This is for anyone who wants to know the roots and meaning of the term Theosophy. While somewhat dramatic, Hanin expresses the material with an authoritive voice that would make Madame Blavatsky proud.
    A Good overview
    Easy to listen.
Not over the top. Covers some good grounds.
    Recommend listening.
    Thanks Audible
    Enjoyed Blavatsky viewpoints
What did you love best about An Introduction to Theosophy?
Understanding what and where Theosophy believes. Very interesting since her name is well known and prevalent in these circles.
    Brilliant* Truely Enlightening *
A good beginners guide to Theosophy's theory & Practice. I really recommend it for anybody new to Theosophy.

    Title: Waking Up
    Author: Sam Harris
    Narrator: Sam Harris
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 51 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-16-14
    Publisher: Random House Audiobooks
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 130 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
For the millions of people who want spirituality without religion, Sam Harris new book is a guide to meditation as a rational spiritual practice informed by neuroscience and psychology.
From best-selling author, neuroscientist, and "new atheist" Sam Harris, Waking Up is for the increasingly large numbers of people who follow no religion, but who suspect that Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Rumi, and the other saints and sages of history could not have all been epileptics, schizophrenics, or frauds. Throughout the book, Harris argues that there are important truths to be found in the experiences of such contemplatives - and, therefore, that there is more to understanding reality than science and secular culture generally allow.
Waking Up is part seekers memoir and part exploration of the scientific underpinnings of spirituality. No other book marries contemplative wisdom and modern science in this way, and no author other than Sam Harris - a scientist, philosopher, and famous sceptic - could write it.
    Members Reviews:
    wow
Simply great. A balanced, useful, contemporary synthesis of philosophy, neuroscience, and contemplative methodology.
Sam Harris is possibly the most reasonable man alive.
    Sam Harris has outdone himself
Great writing by a great mind.
As usual Harris offers a new perspective on things, one which would have been extremely difficult to arrive by oneself.
Thanks Sam, I've enjoyed it thoroughly.
A clear headed look at spirituality
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for spiritual fulfilment without religion. Sam Harris talks about the benefits of a contemplative life with insight and reason, identifying and cutting through the mumbo jumbo of religious doctrines.
    Eloquently written
Highly recommended. A wonderful book that articulates beautifully how Sam has come to observe the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. Sam also challenges us to question the legitimacy of our ideas, and to remove those that do not benefit all humanity. Worth a second, and a third listen.
A new way of looking at spirituality
This short, but excellent audiobook was exactly right for someone like me. I have always been intrigued by the power of the mind, having spent a lot of years trying out lucid dreaming and dabbling in types of meditation and hypnosis. Unfortunately, a lot of times when researching said topics, you get to handle unwanted mumbo-jumbo about how the experiences are deeply religious or transcendental beyond what our minds can grasp.
Sam Harris takes an entirely different approach, luckily. He starts with the mind. With consciousness, and the self. He writes about "spirituality" from experience and experimentation, firmly rooted in science and objective research. And that's exactly what is needed in a subject as this: someone who can approach this from both sides, and find a middle ground. The science of Zen, as it were.

    Publisher's Summary:
Discover the ancient science of life and awaken your power of healing, success, and miracles.
Is it possible that the choices you make in every moment of every day have a direct effect on the world around you? Could it be that our ancient ancestors left precise instructions for us on how to use our choices to bring healing to our bodies and lasting peace to our modern world?
In Speaking the Lost Language of God: Awakening the Forgotten Wisdom of Prayer, Prophecy, and the Dead Sea Scrolls, you'll discover that the answer to these and similar questions is a resounding "Yes!" Visionary and scientist Gregg Braden takes you on a journey of exploration, discovery, mystery, and insight. A journey that leads you to the wisdom of the ancients and an understanding that the most powerful force in the universe resides within you now.
In this illuminating program, Gregg cites study after study in which modern science is now proving what the ancients have been saying since the beginning of time: There is an unseen web of energy that connects us all. A growing number of scientist call this web of energy the Mind of God.
It's through this newly recognized form of energy that we are connected to one another and to the events of our lives. Consciously or unconsciously, this web reflects each choice we make as the healing of our bodies and the peace of the world. As we come to understand this "inner technology" we can claim the experiences that we choose, not only for ourselves, but for our family and our community as well.

    Well developed, well done
Great lecture, will listen to it again. Easy to follow. The music in the background initially detracted from it. I almost stopped listening to it, I'm glad I didn't stop. The book became better and better as the lecture went on.
Taught me how to pray again
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book teaches you how to pray by leading you into the intricacies we have overlooked or foundered through. It is so simple, yet empowering.
I used to get "lost" in prayer trying to cover all the bases and details the way newagers said it had to be done in order to have success. I found it an awful lot of work with less than optimum results despite elaborate dream boards for various areas of my life, written affirmations stuck all over my bathroom mirror & home, and wasting countless hours sifting through tons of pics to make Mind Movies.
It reminded me I had once practiced this method of prayer and not realized it. Funny, because I had immediate success with it then, but I never applied it to all the other areas of my life, and yes, the prayers were over weather! Now I experience good things pouring into my life at the end of the day despite what obstacles were placed before me.
This is a very welcome and wonderful change after so many years of hopelessness, struggle, disappointment, despair and defeat.
Be willing to listen deeply and repeat as you go along to make sure the simplicity of the method and his message saturate you!
    Thoughts are energy!
Our thoughts are focused energy and our emotions are the power with which we manifest matter in the world around us...
