This book is amazing, deep and extremely practical. I love it. I'm buying this book for almost all my friends.

Simply wonderful!

I loved this book from start to finish. The stories were beautifully told, from Nadine's clients to her personal experience with her mother and grandmother.

Although this book was written in regards to adult caregivers; I've found many uses to where I can apply this to my daily use in caring for children 0-5 and working with their parents.

This is most definitely a book that I will be recommending and reading again :)

Incredibly Compassionate

Before I listened to this incredibly compassionate explanation of the complicated process of caregiving, I had only a sketchy understanding of what was involved. Now, after hearing the authors heartfelt telling of her own story of caregiving and of how her own work as a consultant to other caregivers evolved, my own understanding is much deeper. Her work glows with respect and compassion for everyone involved in the process.

I highly recommend this book both to caregivers, especially those new to the process, and to anyone who needs to support those caregivers in any way.

Beautiful and Important - A Must Listen

Tears in My Gumbo was such a great listen. I love the way the author, Nadine Roberts Cornish wrote this like a recipe book. It IS in fact a recipe book for caregivers as well as care receivers. This book is full of amazing stories but also invaluable information.

There were different stories each with unique situations with helpful tips on ways to handle them. Truly priceless. I can't even recommend this audiobook enough to anyone, especially caregivers. I liked the chapter on advocacy. This is something that is so important.

The author's own story was moving and thoughtful. I love that she was her own narrator. She has a fabulous upbeat voice. She was positive and warm and I'm glad I had the opportunity to listen.

A must for beauty addicts

Sali Hughes is always right. Her writing is fantastic and this book is a must!

Excellent book

I loved this book, it brought back so many memories of lotions and potions that I had long forgotten about, and salis reading of her book was excellent.

I bloody loved it!

I thought this was about branding but it's a bible to beauty products, cult classics & an intro to others I'm about to run out & buy! It includes a brief history of where products originated & which brands started trends & how it was done. Really fantastic insight & obviously the author completely loves what she does as it's contagious her excitement about a scent or product packaging. I plan on telling everyone I know to buy it if you are into beauty, fashion, branding, marketing, social media, a blogger -read this ASAP! I listened to it but also have the book which is great as you can see the products she is talking about but hearing it read by the writer is always a must!

I have done a bit of research into what makes someone shy and found that two things often figure into shyness - birth order as well as a lower self-esteem. It is also important to realize that shyness is not always so apparent. Some people, in an effort to not seem so shy, will go off in the opposite direction and appear to be very outgoing when they are struggling, on the inside, to overcome this affliction. I can relate to this as I am one of those types of individuals. Others often find me to be outgoing, but in reality I get a sick feeling in my stomach when I have to meet new people or exert myself in social situations.

Many Positives in This Audiobook

YOUR AWAKENING SELF was an interesting and good listen. I love books like this one. I found it helpful in identifying and answering many questions. I especially liked the part about boundaries and relationships and having discernment and allegiance to oneself. There is a lot of energy flowing and it's important that it flow smoothly. The parts regarding energetic independence and exfoliation I think were metaphors for freeing up space in ones life, not just externally but internally. We're not all walking the same path but this book helps with the path your on.

Overall, I felt this book, written by Molly McCord was a positive experience and a good listen. I'd like to hear more.

Kim-Char Meredith's performance was uplifting and positive. I had positive vibes just hearing her enthusiasm. I think she did a super job. There was an audio glitch in chapter 8 but it didn't take away from the book.

Powerful insight!

Absolutely loved this book. I rarely use my audible credits on lower costing books but I did on this one because I came across a quote that resonated with me which sparked my curiosity to read this book. Upon reading this, I couldn't believe how much resonated with me on so many levels. Truly grateful for this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I also appreciated the narration.

Si una persona pone una sonrisa en la cara y haciendo unos ejercicios se siente feliz ... eso es un engaño peligroso. La cara fea es el olor del sepulcro del alma sombría que pertenece a todo el ser humano. "No es necesario pintar el sepulcro de blanco ..." Hay que identificar el mal olor que cuenta millones de años y ahí es donde la naturaleza va a buscar la energía para una persona realizar sus sueños. The type of book you pick up and put down to start implementing some of the recommendations. They are clear, direct, actionable and the potential for them to be very impactful is readily apparent. It is quite possible that this book could change someone's entire outlook on life, and in one of the shortest formats for that type of impact that I have come across in my very extensive "self-help" library. Each of the points does a nice job of helping the reader source their own points of happiness and fulfillment, as well as providing solutions that can rectify barriers to those emotions. From the very beginning the book suggests its impact will be to help the reader, discover what they want through discovering who they are, whether that is through looking back through the eyes of their care-free "10 year old self" or taking time to introspectively "determine what matters for you in life and give it a front seat". A perfect balance of basic and profound, I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a jumpstart on finding out who they are, what they love, and what would bring them joy or even those who for whatever reason knew these things but somehow let them fall by the wayside.
