Good Story for Kids, Positive Message
A cute story for kids, if maybe a little simple. When you hear that the protagonist needs to find a magic amulet to defeat shadow dragons, it suggests sorcery. But when that amulet turns out to be the Bible, which doesn't do anything unless passages are recited, it turns very positive. It could have been developed further, and it is very short. But it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, so take it as a good story for kids, with a positive message.
adventure story with a powerful message for young readers
Bravo! This whimsical, witty little book had me laughing out loud and wishing I had done a better job of paying attention in Sunday School! Children will identify with Edgar, a fully-outfitted little hero armed against his foes with tennis balls, good humor, wisdom and a good memory. A page-turning adventure story with resounding moral lessons for readers that are either just starting to branch off on their own, or still love being read to. Just the perfect mix of adventure, virtues, magic, and teamwork between a few good friends, you will be asking yourself when the sequel is coming out. Mr. Davis transmits a good bit of cultured humor and wit within these pages that keep adults engaged and laughing. A wonderful first book, Mr. Davis!
A Christian Adventure with Life lLessons
This is a very Christian based story, and Christian kids will love it. It has many lessons that will be learned while entertaining young kids. Ages 5 to 14. About a dozen Bible verses are used.
I really enjoyed reading Edgar and the Dragon
I really enjoyed reading Edgar and the Dragon! The story captures my attention all the way through. Joseph explains the good and evil in a good and easy way. I hope this book will be translated into swedish - It would then be easier for me to read it with my son. This book is good for both young and old!
Well. . .Who doesn't like dragons?
Who doesn't like dragons? Well, Henry and Edgar loves them & so do I.
Henry also loves balls, especially tennis balls! I think it is because they're green.
It never occurred to me that they could have any value attached to them.
Edgar, I think is a very clever boy. I wish Henry were half as clever a boy as Edgar.
But, alas, Henry is powerfully handsome, charming and sweet, & cuddly.
Henry runs very fast & jumps high. He also crawls low under the beds. & that is just fine for a dog.
