Publisher's Summary:
As human beings, we are great storytellers. We tell stories about who we are, what we're doing, and why we are doing it. The problem is, sometimes those stories are fiction; created by our own blindness to reality. We are such good storytellers that we often don't know we are deceiving ourselves. The brain has evolved to make information processing simplified and, with this, has created a need to simplify the world. The problem is, sometimes rational thinking becomes sacrificed for this simplicity.
In The Little Book of Stupidity, Sia Mohajer draws on extensive research and makes surprising connections among 10 of life's most pervasive cognitive biases. It is a story about how stupid we can all be and also how we can become more compassionate as a result.

Brilliant explanations about the stupidity of all of us
The DunningâKruger effect is a cognitive bias in which relatively unskilled persons suffer illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability to be much higher than it really is. Dunning and Kruger attributed this bias to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their own ineptitude and evaluate their own ability accurately.
I copied and pasted the above from Wikipedia because I could not believe that someone would cover their face with lemon juice and think that therefore the surveillance camera would not detect him. I did my own research on the web and it appears that indeed this is a true story. I still cannot believe this, I do not know if I will ever be able to believe this. I think Iâm being taken for a ride here but if this indeed a true story, then this is very funny and most definitely worth a read. I cannot stop laughing, this book explains so much about the world we live in. It's ten stars for the belly laughs I got out of this.
Well, we human beings are fundermentally flawed.
This book is a wonderful starting point where you can broaden your knowledge about what we are as human beings, why we behave like this or that and how our acts affect us.
Psychology has come a long way and now we have psychological answers to many things that have regarded as simply conundrum or supernatural.
The author, a teacher, is a good story-teller and shows something useful among these answers with this short, easy-to-read book with interesting stories in each chapter.
Yes, human beings are basically story-tellers and like to listen to stories.
Enjoy!!!^^
I am stupid, and so are the author of this book plus you.
If you don't believe the title of this review, read this book. Sia Mohajer does an excellent job in making the science of decision making and behavior understandable and actionable. In doing so, he points to 10 well-researched so called "biases" - those irrational tricks that our minds play on us, whether we are aware of them or not. He illuminates these with everyday examples and lets me think and think again. Knowing our stupidity makes us a little wiser! Moreover, it makes us understand others better, and grow our compassion for everyone's irrationality. Five stars for both the content, the research behind it, and his nice and crisp style of writing.
Great EZ Little Starter Book
Sia sure did hid homework. I have suffered through so many persuasion book, rhetorical, and fallacy books as a method of self understanding. Sia gets it.
