this book is a must have for historical authentic references for any modern philosophical alchemist. it was a long hard and dry read however the information contained, although a textbook and for reference only really is mind blowing and important if you are a serious student of alchemy.

Gonna hafta hear this one a few times!

I've been a student if alchemy for quite some time, but it's nice to hear the info aloud.

This was appallingly bad. It is filled with old world Christian judgements etc.

Superb not sure about reader though

Neville Goddard is absolutely God! His work is fabulous and priceless. Superb. I just didn't like the reader, he was too fast for my liking. The pausing wasn't enough for moi.

I listened to the end but I kept wanting to quit. The narrator sounds like the guy back in high school that you would hope didn't get called on to read.

Excellent

Full of nuggets. Rich in wisdom. Can be used as a devotional or read through. I love and listen to it many times over.

Challenging in all the right ways.

Bill Johnson stretches me, but I have yet to hear him say anything that doesn't come straight from scripture. The way he thinks challenges me to actually know God instead of know ABOUT God. His books are not for lukewarm Christians. They are for people with grit and guts who want to push aside doubt and fear and experience God in all his wonder.

Just about t start the second time through.

This book is a constant stream of truths. I enjoyed it so much and got so much out of it I am going to listen to again.

Great Heart

The author has a great heart and it is conveyed at many points throughout the book. sometimes I feel it can be a little simple and then other times it's very deep. There are many things throughout this writing that you can apply to your life to have a deeper walk with the Lord.

Great Book! Inspiring!

I loved it. All of the prayers in it are written from the heart. It's a great read or listen ;) for anyone looking for a deeper relationship with God.

Narration ruins the material

If you could sum up Never Argue with a Dead Person in three words, what would they be?

I've seen Thomas John during large group readings and what he does definitely impresses. I'll remain skeptical, while still hopeful that there isn't some trickery going on. He definitely has come up with facts that people confirm with great emotion, things that one would not find on the internet. Therefore, it was fun to listen to his story and other stories based on his experiences and past readings.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I believe this narrator is the same person who narrated children's stories that I used to listen to in the car with my kids. He attempts to transform adults into cartoon-like voices. Women all come off as bimbos and he uses a falsetto that is insulting. In fact, nearly all of his female characterizations seem to indicate that either he, or the author, think that women are profoundly idiotic. I found myself wanting to hear the material but was so angered by the narration that I could hardly stand to listen a moment longer. Bad choice. The book might be great, but the narration completely kills it.

Ick-Save your credits

It's was hard to listen to this narrator. He certainly was enthusiastic, but more fitting for a children's book. His impersonation of a woman's voice was grating. Of course, he possibly was trying to make up for the lackluster story and figured sounding like Cinderella's evil step-sisters in unison couldn't hurt. I didn't make it past the fourth chapter and only because I don't give up easily.

Would you try another book from Thomas John and/or Jeff Cummings?

No.. I don't like Jeff Cummings interpretation of female voices. I find them annoying.
