Great series, book 2!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series by Ruby Dixon! The story of an event the people of Earth call "The Rift" where dragon shifters end up suddenly on Earth from another dimension and their need for human females to keep them from madness has a unique flair. The sarcastic and witty conversations that the hero and heroine have make the audiobook so much fun to listen to. Great narration and I'm looking forward to the next book!

Oh my God! Another totally awesome adventure.

This book is about Claudia's friend Sasha and the Dragon claims her dock it was touch and go there for a bit given Sasha's background but I really enjoyed this story I'm so keen to read the next one I went ahead and buy it on Kindle until the audible comes out LOL dock has a little more memories of the past. So it's very interesting to get a better look into Dragon culture. I'm not exactly sure of his books next but I can't wait to see what's going to happen and what they do about this so Solorian problem!!!!!!! and I would love to know what causes the dragons repeated mating cycles.

Archon is NOT the father!!! Archon is NOT Acheron's father!!!

Okay, if you have been keeping up with the story, you kind of had this idea, but this book confirmed it! Who is he? Well, can you say a big possible Kessar? That's what I pick up from this book, or it could still be Savitar or, maybe not. I know, I know, make up your mind, but it's so very hard to do! We are set up for the next part of the Dark Hunters story with this one, and I can't wait!

Okay, now the book review...

We got a lot of good and useful information with this one. You get the full story of how the dragon's came to be, and who made them and why they were made. We learned the truth about Urian and Pheobe. That Pheobe is not dead, but she is not the same, and we still see Apollo being his usual shitty self. The time line kind of messed me up with the fact that in this book Acheron is still sleeping with that

"Goddest Bitch" Artemis. You pick that up from our wonderful girl Simi! Yes, she's back and in full Simi mode! Thank God for the Simi!

Take the plunge and get this one! Well worth the credit!

Wow just wow

Alrighty so this book sees the full merging of the Dark-hunter and Lords of Avalon serieses with the events of this book taking place largely in Camelot. There are some hints in this book about Ash' s real dad but it's left a mystery. I CANNOT what to see Urion's book and it looks like Phoebe will be in this book as well... but we though she was dead. This book was amazing and we have fully switched to the Galu and Apollo being the big bad.

A Tree Transforms into a Human

I enjoyed this book. The premise is interesting. A tree suddenly transforming into a human. However, the woman begins to wonder if she's always been a tree. She goes on a quest, hoping to find someone to turn her back into a tree, and meets all sorts of people along the journey, including those who betray her. It's a typical quest story, with very little magic involved except for the fae forest. I think some of the characters were inconsistent, and some of their reasons for doing things a bit weak, but otherwise I did enjoy the tale and may check out more by the author.

Well Written

Well Written but story is just not my cup tea. If you like Faes and weird creatures then you will like this story. For myself I have no interest in reading book two,three etc.

I loved this story

This was a great start to a series. I can't wait for the next one.. I hope it's not too long a wait.

This was much better than book 1....but still no Cat and Bones... Ivy and Adrian are good together, but Ivy and her sister are really whiny...and I would like to see them toughen up a bit...sure they are in constant danger and there is a lot going on...but still toughen up..you are a savior ACT LIKE ONE!! I am interested in see where this goes....but I want more Warrior Princess...and less whiny sorority girl....Solid 3.5 for story 5+ for narration Tavia never disappoints me!!!

Narration to fast

For a better listening experience play this story at a lower speed. Feels like the narrator was in a hurry to finish her tale.

I thought I was listening to Vlad again....

I was so disappointed with this book. I'm obsessed with Jeanine Frost and her books. But this one fell short for me. For starters Adrian's accent was changed and it sounded identical to what Tavia Gilbert used as Vlad Tepesh' voice. It was hard getting past that. But also this book was boring. I'm hoping she's just setting it up for an AMAZING 3rd book.

Another winner!

As usual, another great story. I didn't care for the change in the characters accents from the previous books, but quickly acclimated to them.

Jeaniene Frost is the best

I have read all the books in this series before this one, but it has been a while. Jeaniene does an excellent job of catching you up without rehashing the previous books in detail. I didn't miss a step. This, like all the others, is a very exciting book. Ms. Frost does a wonderful job of providing a quality story. There is depth and substance to her stories. The continuing story of Ivy and Adrian is riveting. The narrator, Tavia Gilbert, does an awesome job with the characters and their personalities. Looking forward to more books with this team.

My Dragon

Great book. It reminded me little of the Warriors of Hir by Willow Danes. The non ability to communicate was hilarious. Both narrators were great doing each characters point of view. Neither Kyle nor Claudia understood each other. At first she thought he wanted to eat her and he could not make her understand he wanted to be her mate. I love dragon stories and normally i prefer ones that have a balance of action and romance but even though these were more on the romance side, they were fantastic. I am currently listening to the second book.

For the love of dragon!

I must say this is one of the most interesting books I have listened to in a while. RD managed to weave romance in a sort of post apocalyptic earth... something very few people manage to capture well.

The story is a little slow pace for my liking but it actually works. I would have liked for the first few chapters to be shorter but i stuck with it long enough to get caught in the story's web. I can imagine this is what would happen if dragons did somehow manage to invade the planet. After years of dragon rampages, nature finds a way to balance out the the power by linking a dragon to a human mate. Of course, the story wouldn't be as much fun if the female goes willingly. The story focuses more on resolving the heroine internal conflict, understandably because it's not everyday a human falls for another species. There is a bit of explicit sex scenes but for a paranormal book, it was a bit vanilla. Don't get me wrong she wasn't annoying but it would have been better if she didn't run hot one moment then cold the next..There are a few secondary characters but not enough back story about them to really make me like or dislike them. There were a few that got what they deserved! For a while I thought, RD was going to let them get away with their crap but lucky for me she didn't.

The narration was ok. I have listened to both narrators before and while they are not top of my list, they are good enough to keep my attention. To be honest, as a paranormal romance fan, I would say if you are going through a dry spell (I am right now.. sigh) give this book a shot. It's a couple of hours of entertainment and is really not that bad in my opinion.

I just couldn't make myself finish it...ugg!

I've listened to 100s of books and only returned 2! I just couldn't get into this...too slow, too predictable, heroine was an idiot and irritating.

Super entertaining, unsure on narrator!

Would you consider the audio edition of White Hot to be better than the print version?

No, I read the first book and wish I'd read the second one. I had a hard time with the narrator, I thought she did a good job but her voice was way too mature for the character. At several points I thought she sounded in her late 50's which didn't make sense for a 20 something main character. I found her male voice for Mad Rogan to be a little silly, he sounded a bit like an aging cowboy.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the quirkiness of all the characters and the world building. Ilona Andrews never disappoints with a full cast of unique and interesting characters with a solid world. The house system was well developed, the fight scenes had great pacing and the intimate scenes caused some good blushing!

What does Renee Raudman bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

I have a hard time leaving a bad review because I genuinely think Renee is a good narrator, just not for this book. I don't want to nitpick, my main thought is just that her voice is too matronly for a 20 something character. A few times when Nevada exclaimed or gasped aloud (rather than us hearing her internal dialog) she had a bit more of a higher, more breathy voice which I thought was a little more realistic.

Pure fun & escapism!

This is such a FUN series! Fast moving and Packed with action, adventure, magic, romance. Pure fun! Starting book 3 the trilogy finale Wildfire immediately!

Please let there be more

I seriously love this series. It's up there with Kate Daniels- it's that good. Please, please, please let there be more!

Better than the first

Let me start by saying I love everything Ilona Andrews writes. Any of their series you pick up will be amazing. This series is no different. Nevada is snarky, loyal, fierce and can shoot her enemies with precision or break their minds with her magic. Mad Rogan got his nickname because he will do anything he has to to win, and his enemies shudder at his name. Love can make you vulnerable, and neither Nevada nor Rogan do vulnerable very well. When an enemy kills Rohan's people and leaves Nevada's client a widower and a single father they will stop at nothing to avenge the fallen. It means working together and dealing with their own issues.

Good book

I really enjoyed this story. Reagen, a bounty hunter who is down on her luck; Darius, a vampire prince lets say; and Dizzy & Callie the all powerful mages make for an intriguing, interesting, sardonically humorous listen that will keep you wanting more. This story has just the right blend of splendid action and passion to keep my wayward interest. The poop scene had me cracking up. I'm looking forward to book 2.

Refreshing

I really love the storyline and the narrator does fabulous voices. The female lead is a strong character and very funny. A delightful read.

Badassery Galore!

Reagan Somerset has a secret. A big one. To keep her secret, she hides on the fringes of the magical world as a freelance supernatural bounty hunter.

The vampires have a secret, too, and they need Regan to help them keep it. Put between a rock and a hard place, Reagan has little choice but to play ball with the vamps. Only thing is, Reagans not a team player.

This is a great book with well developed characters and a sound plot. The setting is in New Orleans and Ms. Breene does an excellent job of portraying the personality and feel of the city. As I think about the book, I realize what makes this novel so enjoyable for me is the realness she portrays of New Orleans. Ive been there. Ive made fun of the wanna-be witches lurking in cemeteries. I can picture Reagans house sitting somewhere in the 9th Ward, the tourist tours going through the French Quarter and I would certainly believe that there are magic workers living in the Garden District.

That narrator for this audiobook, Ms. Nicole Poole, is one of my favorites. She has a great voice and is very adept in creating believable character voices.

This book features a snarky, supernatural bounty hunter full of badassery, a dynamic duo of crazy mages, and a sexy-as-sin Elder vampire. Listen at your own risk.

Great Story

The lead character has a lot of sass and makes the story alive. I giggled.

This book was fun to listen to!

I almost didnt buy this book because of three major reasons for me. First, I am extremely tired of vampires and shape shifters; I am really beginning to hate vampires. Second, the cover no one in a wife beater is sexy, no one. Third, there is a second book and its not on audible. I have had this happen before when I like a series but audible doesnt get all the books, it makes me mad. I am glad that I was desperate enough to try a new author and it turned out that I love this book! This book was funny, interesting and kept my attention while doing the dishes and laundry.

A DELICOUSLY WICKED FAIRYTALE

How does Kresley Cole do it?... time after time she's delivered riveting listens and, even though we are now at book 17, they've never ever been boring, dull or predictable because her paranormal world-building skills are just amazing. And, every time I finish the latest instalment about the mythical characters of The Lore, I'm immediately craving the next one - and so on.. because she has never disappointed me, has never failed to entertain me and has always managed to spin a fresh new IAD story.

In this book Nix the Ever-Knowing is up to her usual tricks by orchestrating things so a banished virgin Fey Princess is tossed into Hell as the reincarnated mate of the King of Pandemonia. The chemistry between Sian and Lila was off the charts, the sexual tension was palpable, the passion was hot and the quick witted banter between them was fun. Loveable characters get tangled up in the wickedly clever dual POV storyline that'll amaze and entertain. Robert Petkoff's narration was flawless as he brought everything to life.. and he IS the voice of The Lore.

Worth a credit? Yes.. and I'll happily continue to buy books from this very talented Author.

Beauty and the Beast.

What a great story. I have always been a fan of the beauty and the beast story and this is a great twist added to one of my favorite series. I couldn't wait to listen to it and it paid off. I hope Kresley Cole never stops writing this series. I laughed so hard when Lila pulled here first trick on Sian. I loved this world before when Lanthe and Thronos were stuck in it and now I love it even more. There wasn't a lot of action in this book, but it has a lot of mischief and that really brought the story to life.

The Three Brooches is an amazing outstanding novel by author Katherine Lowry Logan. With the entire Celtic Brooch series, she blends time-travel romance perfectly with heart-racing action adventure. As with the prior book in the series, the Broken Brooch, almost the entire MacKlenna Family is featured in this book (about a dozen adults and five children). [If you have not read any of the books in the series before, please read The Ruby Brooch and The Sapphire Brooch before attempting to read this one].

This book centers around the "legend of the three brooches:" when the ruby, sapphire, and emerald brooches are together, their combined power can open a portal to the past. The story basically starts when a message appears in an 135-year old painting of Kit MacKlenna requesting help in the form of insulin for a diabetic. Soon thereafter almost the entire MacKlenna Clan go back to 1881. In the span of about 24 hours a parade of horribles befall on the clan with several main characters in dire jeopardy of losing their lives. Plus Jack Mallory wanders off as he has a tendency to do and before you know it, he's uncovered a plot to overthrow the government using the gold and riches from the Confederates that disappeared after Lincoln was shot.

Teri Schnaubelt narrated this audiobook as she has done with the previous books in the Celtic Brooch series. Teri is simply outstanding, using differing voices for male and female characters and discerning the younger from the older characters. Although this book is a little longer than others in the series running at 15 1/2 hours, I never felt like the story was drawn out unnecessarily. There was too much action going on! I can't recommend this audiobook and the entire series enough. A+

Road Tripping with the Clan

I know better than to start a new Celtic Brooch series book before bed, I do. really. Sadly I could not wait to listen so ended up staying up most of the night.
