    Narrator: Gomez Pugh
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 10 hrs and 55 mins
    Language: English

    Genres: Fiction, Gay & Lesbian
    Publisher's Summary:
Victor Bayne honed his dubious psychic skills at one of the first psych training facilities in the country, Heliotrope Station, otherwise known as Camp Hell to the psychics who've been guests behind its razorwire fence.
Vic discovered that none of the people he remembers from Camp Hell can be found online, and there's no mention of Heliotrope Station itself, either. Someone's gone through a lot of trouble to bury the past. But who?

    Camp Wow!
JCP kicked the series up a notch when Camp Hell was released and Gomez Pugh does the same! Every familiar voice is more nuanced and the new ones just terrific.
    Well done!
    My favorite PsyCop yet!
When I saw the length of this book I was already happy. I love falling into the PsyCop world and letting it take me for a ride. The longer length works great for me.
I think my favorite thing about this book was the progress made between Vic and Jacob. Both of them made incredible leaps forward in their character arcs, and it was exciting.
As always, the description and the crafting of the prose was spot on. The scene in Crash's apartment was so vivid, I feel like I've actually been there.
    Excellent book!
    Nothing but love for this
Was excited when this was released on Audible. I loved everything about this book. Jordan Castillo Price is a brilliant writer. But Gomez Pugh is FAST becoming one of my favorite readers. I can't wait for the next one to come out. Kudos!
    Camp Hell: Hell Yeah!
What made the experience of listening to Camp Hell the most enjoyable?
As usual, Gomez's narration is on point. His new voice, Stephan, is perfect. Can't wait to hear more from Crash.
What did you like best about this story?
That it is over 10 hours long.
Have you listened to any of Gomez Pughs other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have almost every audio book that he's narrated and they're all great.
If you could rename Camp Hell, what would you call it?
    Hell Hath No Fury....
    Any additional comments?
I want the next one NOW.
    Loved it
I love PsyCop. This book is my favorite so far but they are all excellent. I like them because not only are the stories entertaining and fresh, the MC's and peripheral characters are all thoroughly engaging and fun. I am so glad I found this series and I can't wait for book 6.
One thing that was a tiny bit disappointing in this book was the sex. In the previous books Phil was a verbal participant in the enjoyment, which added to the hotness of the scene. This time it's more one sided with Vic's voice being the only one heard during and upon completion of the sexy time. It might read better, but in the audio version it's a bit flat.
Also the narrator Mr. Pugh is excellent. Great voice and inflection. I can listen for hours and not get sick of hearing his voice.

    Publisher's Summary:
Taren Laxley has never known anything but life as a slave. When a lusty pirate kidnaps him and holds him prisoner on his ship, Taren embraces the chance to realize his dream of a seagoing life. Not only does the pirate captain offer him freedom in exchange for three years of labor and sexual servitude, but the pleasures Taren finds when he joins the captain and first mate in bed far surpass his greatest fantasies.
Then, during a storm, Taren dives overboard to save another sailor and is lost at sea. He's rescued by Ian Dunaidh, the enigmatic and seemingly ageless captain of a rival ship, the Phantom, and Taren feels an overwhelming attraction to Ian that Ian appears to share. Soon Taren learns a secret that will change his life forever: Ian and his people are Ea, shape-shifting merfolk...and Taren is one of them, too.
Bound to each other by a fierce passion neither can explain or deny, Taren and Ian are soon embroiled in a war and forced to fight for a future - not only for themselves but for all their kind.

Started out as if it would be M/M/M PWP...
    Any additional comments?
Started out as if it would be M/M/M PWP, then morphed into what I was expecting from the (very pretty) cover art as the story progressed.
When I bought this, I was expecting an epic fantasy romance with Mermen (just look at that cover!). Id never read anything by Shira Anthony, and I was a bit thrown when, during the early chapters, it seemed like the story was heading into slave-fic, menage, territory. Hang on, I thought, wasn't this supposed to be more fantasy and less... erotica? I actually started getting discouraged, but the story changed direction once Taren is separated from Rider and Bastian, and meets Ian. From there it was more what I hoped it would be. Fantasy, romance, and some action.
So, if you were actually looking for M/M/M PWP involving the ships captain, quartermaster and their newly acquired slave, then youll be disappointed because the the story doesnt revolve around that relationship even though you do get a few explicit scenes in the beginning.
Overall I liked the characters, their dynamic, and how mermen were portrayed.
This isnt my first experience with Michael Stellmans narration, and as expected, I enjoyed the way he read the story. Hes not the kind of narrator who uses a wide range of character voices and lots of flashy stuff, but I totally have a voice-crush on him (is that a thing? Should be a thing). His voice just sounds so pleasant to me. No issues with pace and enunciation, either.
Ive already gotten the next book in the series.
    It Gets better
Would you try another book from Shira Anthony and/or Michael Stellman?
    yes
Was Stealing the Wind worth the listening time?
Yes, the story gets better as it goes!
    Any additional comments?
The book starts as overly simplistic m/m fantasy erotica, but by the end it acquires a plot and evolves into a fairly unique & interesting world. Parts of the story are only worth 2 stars & others 5; I settled on 3 because the transitions are clunky & even the best parts are somewhat predictable. However the book is well narrated and has a lot of potential.

Stillwater College in Virginia, 1966. Freshman Peggy, an ingénue with literary pretensions, falls under the spell of Lee, a blue-blooded poet and professor, and they begin an ill-advised affair that results in an unplanned pregnancy and marriage. The couple are mismatched from the start - she's a lesbian, he's gay - but it takes a decade of emotional erosion before Peggy runs off with their three-year-old daughter, leaving their nine-year-old son behind.
Worried that Lee will have her committed for her erratic behavior, Peggy goes underground, adopting an African-American persona for her and her daughter. They squat in a house in an African-American settlement, eventually moving to a housing project where no one questions their true racial identities.
As Peggy and Lee's children grow up, they must contend with diverse emotional issues: Byrdie must deal with his father's compulsive honesty while Karen struggles with her mother's lies - she knows neither her real age nor that she is white nor that she has any other family.
Years later a minority scholarship lands Karen at the University of Virginia, where Byrdie is in his senior year. Eventually the long-lost sibling will go, setting off a series of misunderstandings and culminating in a comedic finale worthy of Shakespeare.

    Publisher's Summary:
The year is 1987. The boys wear pink Izod shirts, the girls wear big hair, everyone has a stash box, and AIDS is just an ugly rumor rumbling like a thunderstorm from the cities. A teenage runaway wanders the side of the road, a heartbeat away from despair, and is rescued by a long-haired angel on a Harley. But that's just the beginning of their story.
Josiah Daniels wanted peace and quiet and a simple life, and he had it until he rescued Casey from hunger, cold, and exhaustion. Suddenly Joe's life is anything but simple as he and his new charge navigate a world that is changing more rapidly than the people in it. Joe wants to raise Casey to a happy and productive adulthood, and he does. But even as an adult, Casey can't conceive of a happy life without Joe.
The trouble is getting Joe to accept that the boy he nurtured is suddenly the man who wants him. Their relationship can either die or change with the world around them. As they make a home, negotiate the new rules of growing up, and swerve around the pitfalls of modern life, Casey learns that adulthood is more than sex, Joe learns that there is no compromise in happy ever after, and they're both forced to realize that the one thing a man shouldn't be is alone.

Heartbreaking, Heartwarming, It's Got It All!
For the most part, I consider Amy Lane an insta-buy and Sidecar (audiobook version) was certainly worth the money spent. Josiah and Casey's story is not your typical gay romance; Casey is a homeless teen and Josiah a noble, kind man not about to take advantage of a vulnerable youth, so they don't actually get together until many years after they meet. So their story is a long, winding one, set to a late 80's soundtrack (well, the chapter titles are 80's song titles, at least), taking the pair through their first meeting when Casey is a gay, homeless teen in need of a home and Josiah over 10 years his senior and with a home and caring heart to provide. While Casey would jump at the chance to have a sexual relationship with Joe, Joe refuses and focuses on healing Casey's pain, both physically and psychologically, jumping through hoops to ensure that Casey has a safe place and a future.
Sidecar winds through the decades, carrying Joe and Casey through heartache, heartbreak, and so many heartwarming moments, a meandering trip through the vast hills and valleys of love. The tale touches on what it means to be gay/bisexual in the 80s and 90s, what it means to be a father (because Joe very much is Casey's foster father for those first 6 years), and what it means to sacrifice for the one you love.
The audiobook performance by Chris Patton is tremendously good, with very distinct voices for Casey, Joe, and the other characters, emotional and evocative and, at times, just plain sexy. His Joe sounds like like I'd imagine him to, especially when he's cranky, and his Casey voice grows with the young man, high and vulnerable when he's an adolescent, and deeper and more confident as he ages.
There are very few audiobooks that I will wind up listening to again and this one just made that list.
    Utter Perfection
"Joe grimaced" for no less than 2,345 times in Sidecar. I'm joking, but I'm not; but you will not grimace at this amazing title. About as heartwarming a story as I have every read. It is perfection. The center of the story is not Joe, however; it's Casey.

    Publisher's Summary:
John Carey is just out of rehab and dying inside when he gets word that Tory, the guy who loved him and broke him, has removed himself from the world in the most bitter way possible - and left John to clean up his mess.
Forced back to his hometown in Florida, John's craving a hit with every memory when he meets Tory's neighbor. Spacey and judgmental, Galen Henderson has been rotting in his crappy apartment since a motorcycle accident robbed him of his mobility, his looks, and his boyfriend all in one mistake. Galen's been hiding at the bottom of an oxy bottle, but when John shows up, he feels obligated to help wade through the wreckage of Tory's life.
The last thing John needs is another relationship with an addict, and the last thing Galen wants is a conscience. Both of them are shocked when they find that their battered souls can learn from and heal one another. It doesn't hurt that they're both getting a crash course on how growing up and getting past your worst mistakes sure beats the alternative - and that true love is something to fight to keep if your lover is fighting to love you back.

    What happened to Sean Crisden?
Is there anything you would change about this book?
    The narrator.
What did you like best about this story?
Reading it. Honestly, three hours in and I had to stop listening to it. I love Amy's Johnnies series but the narrator just ruined it for me.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Gomez Pugh?
The previous narrator of the Johnnies series, Sean Crisden.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably not, only because I can't imagine it ever being made into a movie.
    Any additional comments?
There is a huge difference between a voice actor and a narrator who just uses accents to differentiate between various characters. Gallen is supposed to be a highly educated corporate lawyer, a 'land-shark'. Instead he sounds like a whinging hick who just fell off the back of a turnip truck.
    Brilliant narration - wonderful hurt/comfort!
    Any additional comments?
While the players and the setting changes, the game remains the same. Gomez Pugh picks up the narration for the final installment of the Johnnies series, and does it beautifully. Pugh consistently delivers a dynamic and impressive performance.
While the other three books in the series focused on the Johnnies set and life in and around Sacramento, Black John focuses more on the characters, on Johnnies owner, John Carey, in particular, and is set mainly in Florida.
John has just completed a stint in rehab for a long-time cocaine addiction when he receives word that the first person he ever loved, Vittorio "Tory" Petrelli has taken his own life and left a will asking John to release his ashes into the sea.
When John arrives back in Florida to clean out Tory's apartment and get rid of his stuff, he meets Tory's next door neighbor, Galen Henderson, who helps John with the apartment cleanup, and emotional support. The two work their way through Tory's things, and piece together his final days.
In the process John and Galen grow closer and fall in love. Unfortunately, Galen is battling his own demons and has been hooked on painkillers since a terrible motorcycle accident left him with crippling pain, a limp, and scars.
One of the things that nearly killed me was just how good the hurt/comfort is in this story.

Sometimes you have to play love by ear.
Aaron Seavers is a pathetic mess, and he knows it. He lives in terror of incurring his father's wrath and disappointing his mother, and he can't stop dithering about where to go to college - with fall term only weeks away. Ditched by a friend at a miserable summer farewell party, all he can do is get drunk in the laundry room and regret he was ever born. Until a geeky-cute classmate lifts his spirits, leaving him confident of two things: his sexual orientation and where he's headed to school.
Giles Mulder can't wait to get the hell out of Oak Grove, Minnesota, and off to college, where he plans to play his violin and figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. But when Aaron appears on campus, memories of hometown hazing threaten what he'd hoped would be his haven. As the semester wears on, their attraction crescendos from double cautious to a rich, swelling chord. But if more than one set of controlling parents have their way, the music of their love could come to a shattering end.
Warning: Contains showmances, bad parenting, Walter Lucas, and a cappella.

    Sensational!
It would be difficult for this Book 2 to eclipse Book 1 about Walter and Kelly, but it did. Bring a box of Kleenex, you'll need it plenty. Heidi is a dream writer for this stuff. One can only hope that she continues to write and write and write. Thanks Heidi!! Thank you too Iggy! Wonderful narration, another indispensable layer to the sweet delicious dessert that this book is.
    this book was everything!!!
I didn't think it could be better than the last one but it was! I loved seeing characters you loved from the first book. I loved the HEA but that there were real hurdles the people you cared about had to jump over to get there. it was raw, it was beautiful. worth every penny
    Glee+Pitch Perfect+Boy Melodrama
I think Iggy Toma did a better job narrating this than Love Lessons.... Or maybe I've just gotten used to him.
This has heaps of angst, the kind you'd expect from a CW teen drama. Almost everyone has some drama going on with them. And there are parent issues up the wazoo with Aaron and Elijah winning the crappiest parents award.
If you like your MM romance with a lot of teen angst, a big cast of side characters, musical jargon, and if you wanted more of Walter and Kelly from the first book, then you'll love this. Narration was really good. It was easy to distinguish which character was speaking because they're given distinct voices and the paint was good. Not too fast or slow.
    Fantastic
OMG, what a great listen. Frequently in my audiobook reviews I praise the narrator for bring the story to a new level. Although the narrator did a wonderful job, in this case the book eclipsed the narrator. I do not believe this is not a stand alone book, you have to read/listen to the first book in order to really enjoy this one. What a great ride with Aaron and Giles. Their story was a roller coaster ride of emotion, angst, horror, joy and down right whooping fun. Put it this way, while reading I rented Pitch Perfect and downloaded Titanium; a movie and a song I had never heard before, but now love. It is hard to put into words what the story (really two stories) is about. The first half of this book made me want to tear my hair out with all the misunderstandings and angst.

    Romance with a Brain
The series is captivating and riveting. Ms. Bramhall always does a great job of showing as many sides as possible while challenging our intellect.
    love it
The Writer is amazing. I loved every minute of the book. keeps you on the edge of your seat!!
Frightening Plot could be seen on CCN
This without a doubt was the best story of this genre I have ever read/listened to. This is the first of Ms Bramhalls' offerings that I have read/listened to and I am totally blown away. The story involves two couples who are tied together without really knowing it. Ms Bramhill kept a great balance through out the book. It was almost like reading/listening two separate books until she weaved them together seamlessly. The pace was fast without being overwhelmed. I see this as Rizzoli and Isles, Cagney and Lacey, in a James Bondish type setting. The plot lines could have been taken directly out of news sources of today, frighteningly so. Being prior military and a cop to boot I found the story is believable and pretty much accurate. The only issue that I had dealing with the audio portion, and not necessarily her fault, was when she referred to the Britishs' MI6 as M(Sixteen) very minor. I was not aware of her previous offering of "Ladyfish" and as far as I am concerned, even though this is a sequel it can stand on its own. With that being said I will definitely read/listen to "Ladyfish." Wonderful job Andrea!!!
    I truly enjoyed this book
it was a surprise when I bought this book that it was a continuation of the other one Lady Fish, which was great. the narration was good , funny at times when it came to some.of the characters.
his book was engaging, exciting, lots of awww moments and some sweet tears.
there is a part that should come.with a disclaimer. as some could find it to be a trigger. the violently told rape is relived in this book more that when it's brought up in Lady Fish.
However this book was well written, very likeable characters and enjoyable story line.
    Ho Hum Overall
I was able to finish this book - so it wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. The Narrator's pronunciation of "Baby" grated on my nerves. It is supposed to be a term of endearment but she made it sound like an accusation.

    it was a good book
    Any additional comments?
What really got to me in a bad way was the same issue I had with Zach previously: Jeremy, too, thinks he knows best and bullies his love interest when the other guy only wants to protect him and even explains that its a matter of significant danger.I was annoyed by the Zach, who I didn't enjoyed in Inside Out. In this book, he was so over the top aggressive towards Lowell. Lowell won my heart, that's all there is to it.
Loved Story but please change Tristian's voice!
Over the story but hated the voice used for Tristian! It was too nasal.

Victor Bayne's job as a PsyCop involves tracking down dead people and getting them to spill their guts about their final moments. It's never been fun, per se. But it's not usually this annoying.

    Can't a guy catch a break?
On a more sinister note, Vic discovers there's absolutely no trace of him online. No trace of anyone else who trained at "Camp Hell," either. Keeps getting better!!
I'm a long time fan of JCP and her PsyCop series (not to mention all her other books!) but hearing them performed by Gomez Pugh has elevated them to perfection. He IS Victor Bayne. I'll listen to these stories again and again. Jordan Castillo Price, PsyCop and Gomez Pugh are the best out there.
It's No Secret..... I Love This Series
What made the experience of listening to Secrets the most enjoyable?
As per usual, Gomez Pugh brings his 'A' game to this audio. I love the characterization of each voice. I can't imagine anyone other than him narrating this series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Secrets?
I like the fact that Victor would protect Lisa from everyone, including Jacob and herself.
Which character as performed by Gomez Pugh was your favorite?
I love his version of Ms. Mattie. She's awesome.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Secrets and lies, much to despise....
    Any additional comments?
Every book gets better and I anticipate the next one even before I finish the current one. They can't be released quickly enough for me. Great job Jordan and Gomez. Next please.

Who was your favorite character and why?
    Victor, Cash, and Jacob
Which character as performed by Gomez Pugh was your favorite?
    all
    Cripes.
Would you consider the audio edition of Secrets to be better than the print version?
No, I don't prefer one over the other, they are just different ways to experience a book.
Have you listened to any of Gomez Pughs other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have all the books in this series, and he IS Vic, this book is no exception.
    Any additional comments?
This series get better and better as we learn more about Vic and his background, as well as the way he grows with each book.
It's just getting better and better!
    Wow. Just. Wow.
When you think you know somebody.
In this story we see the boys move in together. But really that wasnt as big a deal as Id have expected it to be. Instead we get some weird stuff about Crash/Vic and Crash/Jacob. I think something is heading our way that will involve Crash more seriously in the future.
Lisa comes back so Yay! I love Lisas talent and how she and Vic are so good for one another. Its wonderful that they can share the depth of their respective talents with each other since nobody else seems to be quite as psychic?- as them.
Jacob was the shocker in this story.

The sole survivor on a science vessel adrift in deep space, Zeus was adopted by the Emperor and Empress of the Mar'Sani, though he is both human and blind, and seen by most as unfit to join the royal family. Though they were able to repair his vision, Zeus does not trust his eyes and the nobles of his parents' court refuse to ever trust a frail human.
Dargon Kal-Turak, along with his symbiote and lover Alpha, command one of the most dangerous ships in the stars. Narrowly escaping a trap, they dock in a space port to make repairs, but find that the Psonics hunting them are closing in fast. In desperation they kidnap the port master mechanic, unaware that the man they've brought on board is more than he seems, and will bring far more upheaval to their ship, their lives, and the stars than any of them could have imagined.

    Nice story, meh romance
nice story! I really enjoyed the concept and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
My favorite part was definitely the prologue with Zeus' adoption!
My only problem with the story was the romance between Zeus and Dargon as it felt almost forced and way too rushed.
At times it was also difficult to keep up with the different aliens but the ones that were more thoroughly explained was very interesting - I just wish there would have been put more time into explaining some of the characters before moving on.
    Impossible to listen to
I loved the book Alpha Trine, so when I found it & the sequal on audio, I purchased them. I just got around to listening. I had to DNF the audio because the narrator's S's kept hurting my ears. There is equipment a narrator needs to produce quality output, devices that soften those S's.
Unfortunately, this book is unlisteneable. Which is sad. I truly enjoyed the book. But the audio version is useless to me.
    Good
I enjoy this enough to listen to it multiple times. I like the different creatures and can follow them fine. The biggest criticism of others is the multiple and varied characters. That is fine for me. My problem is that the narrator is a bit stilted. I'm not sure if it's his reading or the lack of contractions in the text itself. The thing is that it would be natural that aliens wouldn't follow our casual diction and rules. Regardless, it does detract from what is otherwise a highly entertaining and a little bit weird tale.
    Great Sci-fi.
I loved this book on first reading, Michael Stellman does a grand job of bringing Zeus, Dagon and Alpha to life. It was great fun to revisit these guys. I'm looking forward to listening to Striker now.
