When Clay's father suffers a heart attack, Ronnie, having recently lost his dad, springs into action, driving Clay to the hospital over 100 miles away. To stay close to Clay's father, the men share a hotel room near the hospital, but after an emotional day, one thing leads to another, and straight-as-an-arrow Ronnie makes a proposal that knocks Clay's socks off! Just a little something to take the edge off.
Clay responds in a way he's never considered. After an amazing night together, Clay expects Ronnie to ignore what happened between them and go back to his old life. Ronnie surprises him and seems interested in additional exploration. Though they're friends, Clay suddenly finds it hard to accept the new Ronnie and suspects that Ronnie will return to his old ways. Maybe they both have a thing or two to learn.

    Finally! An Andrew Grey Surprise!
I don't listen/read Andrew Grey books... ever... they are all the same hum-drum format... so I stopped a long time ago... However... Tristan James narration.... well heck... I will listen to anything this man narrate!!! SOOOOOO GLAD I DID!!!!
I came for the narration, stayed for the absolutely wonderful story!! I don't know if this is a newer Grey publishing, but dang... this was just so good! The way the two main characters circled around each other was great... They were best friends, then lovers, then enemies, then friends, then lovers again!! Awesome...
Ronnie was the best character ever... He takes meds for his "head" issues...guys has got some serious OCD... a little bit of ADHD as well... but for Grey to write this character so well, and make him seem so normal... just threw me for a loop... I loved it!!! Kudo to Grey for finally writing something that kept my attention the entire time...
I honestly think it was James narration... It was simply brilliant... I always love James narration... hands down one of the best male narrators for this m/m genre out there...!!
Great buy, sale or credit... just get this book... you won't be disappointed...!!
    hot
Excellent narration. Great storyline with some very hot steamy sexy action and main characters you fall in love it. 5 star narration, 4.5 star story. I highly recommend.
    Charo
    Great read, Fantastic Audio!
If you could sum up Eyes Only for Me in three words, what would they be?
    Fantastic - Passionate - Poetic
What was one of the most memorable moments of Eyes Only for Me?
Taking the journey with Ronnie as he navigated the troubling waters surrounding his sexuality and accepting that.
Have you listened to any of Tristan Jamess other performances before? How does this one compare?
Oh heck yes, I love James voice. He has this husky tone to his voice that really fit well for Ronnie.
Who was the most memorable character of Eyes Only for Me and why?
Clay, of course. His love and devotion to Ronnie is unwavering, his friendship unmovable, even facing the very real possibility of losing him.
    Any additional comments?
    e-book review November 2015 4.5/5 stars...
Unrequited love is a bitch, especially when its your best friend youre in love with.
Clay Potter has wanted more than just friendship from Ronnie pretty much since they met. Several things keep the lust at bay.

    Title: Second Hand
    Subtitle: A Tucker Springs Novel
    Author: Heidi Cullinan, Marie Sexton
    Narrator: Iggy Toma
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 11 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-22-16
    Publisher: Riptide Publishing
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 148 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Gay & Lesbian
    Publisher's Summary:
Paul Hannon moved to Tucker Springs for his girlfriend, but she's left him with a house he can't afford and a pantry full of useless gadgets. All Paul wants is to get back to normal, even if he's not sure what that is anymore. When he wanders into Tucker Pawn for a gift to win her back, he meets El Rozal, pawn shop owner and all-around cynic.
El Rozal doesn't do relationships, especially not with clueless straight boys still pining for their ex. El may make his living dealing in castoffs, but that doesn't apply to men. Still, when Paul starts clearing out his old life, pawning kitchen equipment he never wanted in the first place, El is drawn to Paul in spite of himself.
Paul and El have nothing in common except a past full of disappointments. There's no reason to believe the two of them could fit, but in El's line of work, one man's junk is another man's treasure. When it comes to love, El and Paul may learn that secondhand doesn't mean second best.
Publisher's note: This novel is part of the Tucker Springs series, which do not need to be heard in order.

    Solid performance once again!
    Any additional comments?
I really like Iggy Toma's narration in this - he gives a solid performance, I like most of his character voices, and he sucked me into the story making me ignore the outside world completely. Which is a good thing. No matter what my boss or co-workers might tell you.
Second Hand is one of those stories that has a slow build-up to the romance. Mainly because main character Paul is one of the most clueless characters I've seen portrayed in a long time. Paul is also what I call a downer dude or an Eeyore. He's constantly dragging about lamenting his life and the choices he's made. It's hard for me to like a character like that very much.
Conversely, El, for all his chain-smoking and brusque ways, was a delight to get to know. The problems he faces with his family situation felt real, and were, I thought, handled well.
I like that the story has a slow build up to their relationship. I like the time it takes Paul to realize, and then comes to terms with, liking El in a romantic way.
What I didn't like is the ex-girlfriend and the drama she brought to the story. Whenever she showed up I was livid while listening; practically boiling over with rage.
I also didn't like the POV. Paul's POV is in first person while El's is third person. It was weird. I'm not sure if the weirdness was lessened or exasperated by the narration. I just know I didn't particularly care for it. It wasn't a deal breaker, but it did feel like two different stories mashed up into one book. Which, I guess if the two authors were penning different portions that makes sense, but I would have though it would come together more cohesively.
At the end of the day, though, it was an enjoyable listen with a sweet HEA and fans of Tucker Springs shouldn't be disappointed with this installment of the series.
    Loved it!
What made the experience of listening to Second Hand the most enjoyable?
I didn't know what I was in for when I popped this in. I guess, based on the cover and blurb, I expected that it would be an ordinary, run-of-the-mill story about two guys falling for each other. That's not what I got, at all. It is a comedic delight.

    Publisher's Summary:
When sculptor and author Barb Davis is given an NEA grant to pair original feminist sculptures with searing first-person essays on transitions in women's lives, she organizes a two-week writing retreat with 12 of the best, brightest, and most notorious lesbian authors in the business. But in between regularly scheduled happy hours and writing sessions, the women enter a tournament bass-fishing competition, receive life coaching from a wise-cracking fish named Phoebe, and uncover a subterranean world of secrets and desires that is as varied and elusive as the fish that swim in the waters of Lake Champlain.
Set on the beautiful shores of Vermont's Lake Champlain, Backcast is richly populated with an expansive cast of endearing and outrageous characters who battle writer's block, quirky locals, personal demons, unexpected attractions, and even each other during their two-week residency. For Barb and each of her 12 writers, the stakes in this fast-moving story are high, but its emotional and romantic payoffs are slow and sweet. Filled with equal parts laugh-out-loud humor and breathtaking pathos, Backcast serves up a sometimes irreverent, sometimes sobering look at the hidden lives of women, and how they laugh, love, lose, and blunder through their own search for meaning.

I LOVE Ann McMann!!! This is a Laugh Out Loud book.
What an awesome weave of characterizations in a well crafted tale of life! What a beautiful work! I recommend all of her stories. I long for more audio books! Ann McMan has a special talent for mastering the character development in each of her books. Her gentle weave of character in this tale feels so very authentic. Another fabulous book.
    Well written and told
This story had both comedy and tragedy. The author was able to spin this tale out and reel it back in so all of the pieces fell together and provided the story with a very heart felt and warm closure. Well done, I highly recommend its reading. I was thoroughly touched by this book. I have read it and listened to it. It is worth to experience both platforms.
    Reality
Once again Ann has written a very interesting book. Sometimes we don't realize how people were raised and how they were perceived. But I Ann found a way to put her humor in this book and I love Quinn.
Reality Can Be One Tough Topic
If you could sum up Backcast in three words, what would they be?
    Herstory is past.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Mavis or Pheobe
    Which scene was your favorite?
The last scene. Too bad it was just the snake that got shot. Maybe just a kneecap or something, but dude got off easy.
Who was the most memorable character of Backcast and why?
The character development was two sided. We knew something about their past, even though we can't now attribute the past to specific characters, which is one of my complaints about the use of the epilogue... Otherwise, GREAT character development. Good stitching of friendships together and how each woman balances the other.
    Any additional comments?
I'll start with my most positive thoughts and leave my grumpiness for last...
One of the things that I admire about Ann McMan as an author is that she writes from a place that allows her to speak frankly and authoritatively regarding religion and LGBTQ issues. She does this respectfully, not pigeon-holing the whole lot of them, but not letting them get away with their ignorance either. It's a delicate road to walk.

    PINEAPPLES DON'T GROW ON TREES!!!
How can this and the previous book be so full of overly complicated/detailed and frankly unnecessary botany information yet consistently make this ridiculous mistake of referring to pineapple trees.
    Good Book but Silly Mistakes
I live in a area that grows sugar cane and pineapples. They do not burn sugarcane here anymore, it actually reduces the sugar content in the cane.
Pineapples also do not grow on trees. Lol. Pineapples grow on a plant that grows on the ground. It was a hilarious mistake. Otherwise this was a fun story and I loved it.
    not worth it so disappointing
this character Amber is written so ditzzy I have been yelling at the book... I think the authour is trying to build suspense ... however it makes one feel the the character Amber is beyond stupid. the main series Imp is fun and entertaining , with brain cells.
    Enjoyable romp
What did you like most about Sins of the Flesh?
The way the Character of Amber develops as she grows up
What did you like best about this story?
Its just a feelgood book bit of romance bit of explicit sex and an (implausible) story that just takes you along - not a book that needs a lot of brain power - great for listening to when a bit tired.
What does Hollie Jackson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
The book is well read with easy to identify characters, not sure it really gains from reading but definitely doesnt detract.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Be interesting to make a film that could be shown in mainstream cinemas as parts of the book are definitely a bit risque and more likely to be found in a porn film - still if 50 shades could be made into a mainstream film who knows
    Any additional comments?
Suggest reading the first books of Imp series and Demons of Desire first as this is a development and spin of a character that first appears in the imp books. Could probably be read stand alone but better if you have the background on Amber and demons and angels or it might make less sense.
Looking forwards to more books in the series if Debra plans to write them - there is certainly scope for continuing the story

Good Read... Erotic Fiction with an Emotional Side
This book is far outside what I would normally be listening to, but I gave it a chance.... I didn't think I would like an erotic fiction, but was happy to have been proven wrong.
Just in case it wasn't clear from the description, this is a very explicit book... But not all that unrealistic. I found the main character to be quite real and understandable. The story while right on the edge of believable (and sightly cliché), was still enjoyable and worth the time.
The main character, Steve, owns a street-side waffle stand. Everyday, he watches his secret crush walk by with his presumed boyfriend. He goes out of his way everyday to make sure he is able to be there when they walk by. One day, he tries to offer him a free sample. When his boyfriend yanks him back suddenly, and returns the next day with bruises, he is infuriated when he realizes the dangerous nature of their relationship... When he arrives at his business the next day to find that his crush is there waiting for him (lacking any other options), he does everything he can to hide him from his powerful, rich, and unstable ex-boyfriend.
As I said, there were a few times that I knew I was reading a make-believe story, but the writing and characters were strong enough that I was actually disappointed that it wasn't longer...
I definitely enjoyed this book. Hope you do too!
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.
    Narration bumps the story up!
Good short story (that continues in the next installment of this series. Story is akin to a soap opera, but the narration makes it better and makes for an overall entertaining listen.
The Ace and the Little Duck
A love story dealing with sex trafficking and a victim named Joey and his desire to escape from his captor. He is helped by the owner of a Waffle House owner named Steve who with the help of some friends helps Joey escape.
It is a story of trust and a blossoming love affair between two kind and sweet men, one a bit rough and the other mild mannered and how they find love and happiness in a broken world.
    Steve & his Little Duck
Since I read/listened to these books out of order, I started this knowing more about Steve than we saw in book 2. That said, it was interesting for me to see Steve from the beginning, to learn about his Little Duck.
I loved the growth Steve went through, the self realizations & control he learned. Joey's story pulls at you, giving a glimpse into a life that is too often overlooked. Both men have scores of baggage to unload before they can learn to trust what is starting between them.

    Publisher's Summary:
Sloane loves a good mystery. He grew up as the son of two psychiatrists, so he finds most people tediously easy to figure out. He finds his way to Pennsylvania State University, longing for a rural experience, and ends up being lured into joining a frat by Micah Springfield, the hippest guy on campus.
Nothing in Sloane's classes is as intriguing as Hank Springfield, Micah's brother and fellow frat house member. Hank looks like a tough guy - big muscles, tatts, and a beard - but his eyes are soft and sweet. He acts dumb, but he's a philosophy major. He's presumably straight, but then why does Sloane feel such crazy chemistry whenever Hank is around? And why does Hank hate Sloane so much?
When Sloane ends up stuck on campus over Christmas, Micah invites him to spend the holidays at their family farm in Amish country. It's a chance to experience a true Americana Christmas - and further investigate the mystery that is Hank Springfield. Can Sloane unlock the secrets of this family and unwrap the heart hidden inside the beefcake?

The Gift That Keeps On Giving
I love all books by Ms. Easton; this is no exception. Tristan really captures the essence of both Sloane and Hank. I really like the interaction with Hank's family - Grinch stole my heart . I hope that there is a plan for Micah's audio book very soon.
I really, really liked this story!
    Any additional comments?
I really, really liked this story! The slow build-up, moving to a slow burn, then BAM! One of the best wow-I-didn't-see-it-coming sex scenes I've read in a long, long time.
The chemistry between Hank and Greg is palpable even on the page. I thought Easton did an excellent job conveying Hank's struggle with wanting Greg. Though I thought, considering Hank's "struggle" takes over three-quarters of the story, he seems to get over it really, really quickly. It just felt a bit fast considering it is such a slow build-up.
Regardless, 4 stars, two thumbs enthusiastically up! It's a great Christmas-themed book I'll enjoy re-reading again at the holidays.
Tristan Wright does a perfectly good job with the narration. There's nothing really wrong with it, but if I'm being honest it didn't blow me away. While I found the sexual tension and UST is really palpable on page, I didn't feel it conveyed as grandly while listening.
    Unwrap a fantastic Christmas story!
What made the experience of listening to Unwrapping Hank the most enjoyable?
Tristan Wright's narration. My first time with this narrator but I'll be looking for more. He did an amazing job of making sure each character had their own distinct voice.
What did you like best about this story?
It was very much '10 things I hate about you' with the whole, this is why I hate you when I don't really hate you at all. Oh, and the shenanigans that ensued early on between Hank and Sloane...

    Cute but bad
I would have loved this book if I had read it. The narrator was terrible and at times almost ruined it. However, the author's story was different and strong enough to keep me going. With a baby at home I don't get time to sit and read but I wish I could have with this one.
    Not great audio.
    Any additional comments?
    1.5 Stars for Narration
It makes me unbelievably sad to give this rating - because the story is fun, sexy, dynamic, and definitely worth 4 stars - but the narration was HORRIBLE. I feel terribly that the author's very good, very interesting, and very well envisioned work was showcased as badly as it was by Ronald Ray Strickland's narration.
Yes, I said it. The narration is all capitals BAD. Strickland's timing, lack of character voice delineation, the editing, hell...everything was bad. It was like Strickland has never read a book aloud before, got put in a sound booth and told to go crazy, and someone was hoping it might pay off. Well, guess what? It did not pay off. Strickland has odd times where he doesn't enunciate particularly well, but then will suddenly over-enunciate. His speech is halting and then flows almost unnaturally. Also, there were too many times where the audio was badly edited/spliced and suddenly the sound would explode.
Now was it abysmal? No. I've heard worse and, luckily, the story itself saves it from being completely unlistenable. I kept listening because I really wanted to know what happens with Dolf, Tal and Kirk. But I would not recommend anyone get the audio for this.
I would definitely recommend the story - just not the audio.
    Really inexperienced and bad narration
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A better narrator. One who can actually read the words. He had horrible diction and no character distinction.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Liked the shifter m/m/m aspect. That was cool.
How could the performance have been better?
See above. You need a way better actor and performer. This guy was a total amateur.
Good story, but the narration was not enjoyable.
Good story but the narration took away from my enjoyment of the book. Very disappointed.
    Great Story, Bad Narrator
I really enjoyed the story, but the narration left a lot to be desired.

    Horrible narration!
I wish I had listened to the bad review one reviewer gave about the narration. It was slow with individual words said instead of flowing sentences. The narrator mispronounced so many words I couldn't keep track of them. Common words. "Rescind" does not have a long "i" sound in it. A few other words: haphazard, strenuous, and the Cy Young Award is not C. Y. Young! Brutal listening.
    Decent story - Bad Narration
It wasn't a terribly original story, but was sweet and well told. I liked the characters enough to give it an overall favorable review and overlook the fact that I've basically read this story before.
This narrator has potential, but didn't hit it on this book. This was not the worst narration I've ever heard and I did listen to the whole book. (I've been known to quit after a chapter with a few bad narrations.) He has a nice enough voice, *bad* female voices though. His pacing/timing was off though and yes, many many mispronunciations - for me the worst was wrought as in wrought iron. I don't know what he said but it definitely wasn't wrought. I can forgive or overlook one or two stalls in pacing or strange pronunciations but this book was SO full of them I don't know that I will be able to listen to it a second time, even though I liked the story well enough. I hope if Christopher Rain is to continue as a regular narrator that he learns as he goes. I'd give him a second chance, but probably not a third unless things improve.
Wish I'd waited for it to be on sale or available through the lending library.
Luckily, I purchased the kindle version.
What would have made Wild Pitch better?
The narrator was not desirable. He's voice sounded as if he was choking, flat. Mason's ex-wife's voice was cringe-worthy. The other women voices were bearable.
Has Wild Pitch turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
    YES. YES. YES!
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story line wasn't bad. However, the narrator did not do the story justice.
    Terrible Narration!
    Liked the the story.
But the narration was utterly terrible. Robotic. Cold.

    Publisher's Summary:
    Sometimes, life requires a partner.
Ed Maurer has bounced back, more or less, from the neck injury that permanently benched his semi-pro football career. He hates his soul-killing office job, but he loves volunteering at a local community center. The only fly in his ointment is the dance instructor, Laurie Parker, who can't seem to stay out of his way.
Laurie was once one of the most celebrated ballet dancers in the world, but now he volunteers at Halcyon Center to avoid his society mother's machinations. It would be a perfect escape, except for the oaf of a football player cutting him glares from across the room.
When Laurie has a ballroom dancing emergency and Ed stands in as his partner, their perceptions of each other turn upside down. Dancing leads to friendship, being friends leads to becoming lovers, but most important of all, their partnership shows them how to heal the pain of their pasts. Because with every turn across the floor, Ed and Laurie realize the only escape from their personal demons is to keep dancing - together.
This novel has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

Iggy Toma once again captivates me entirely.
    Any additional comments?
Iggy Toma once again captivates me entirely. So much so I was resentful of intrusions that made me have to put it on pause. He manages to create a whole world that sucked me in and made me laugh, cry, and sigh. I can't ask for more than that with a story.
The story centers around Laurie and Ed, who couldn't be more different in some ways and more similar in others. The dichotomy of Ed and Laurie's personalities perfectly explain how well they ultimately compliment each other. They are yin and yang to each other, perfect in their opposition, and in what they bring to each other.
One of the things I loved so much about this story is the realism that's portrayed, woven seamlessly through the romance, so that it's not heavy-handed or brought me out of the lovely romantic story-telling. There were so many things that spoke to me personally, particularly of learning to live with the pain you have, to accept the limitations of your body after an injury, of being afraid you'll be less for it all...
Then ultimately learning to live with your own limitations and how to not just deal, but bloom under the strain of it all because of the love and acceptance of your own and your partner's.
I love this and know it will go into my rotation for re-listen.
    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
    Most Enjoyable
I was moved to tears more than once. 'Twas a beautiful story that moved me greatly.
Sweet story with definite Cullinan stamp on it
I have enjoyed every Heidi Cullinan book I've listened to. I enjoy how Cullinan threads pop culture into her stories and often utilizes them for more than just back ground. I was first introduced to this couple as part of the cast of characters in Lonely Hearts and was excited to get to hear their story. I have to say that I was just a *little* disappointed in this story after the Love Lessons trilogy. I wish that Laurie, in particular, had a little more depth to him. I didn't fall in love with these guys in quite the same way that I fell in love with each of the couples in those books. I felt like the "conflict" and disparity in their personalities and backgrounds was written off a bit too easily ...
