    Publisher's Summary:
It's easy to become cynical when life never goes your way.
Cole Reid has been a social recluse since he was 15, when he was outed by his high school baseball team. Since then, his obsessive-compulsive behavior and sarcastic nature have driven away most of the population, and everyone else hates him because he's gay. As he sees it, he's bound to repulse any prospective friends, let alone boyfriends, so why bother?
By the time Cole enters college, he's become an anal-retentive loner - but it's not a problem until his roommate graduates and the housing department assigns Ellis Montgomery to move in with Cole. Ellis is messy, gorgeous, straight, and worst of all, a jock!
During a school year filled with frat buddies, camping expeditions, and meddling parents, Cole and Ellis develop a friendship that turns Cole's glass-half-empty outlook on its head. There must be more to Ellis than a fun-loving jock - and maybe Cole's reawakening libido has rekindled his hope for more than camaraderie.

Well, Crap, It's Not Perfect, But I Still Loved It
Yes, just like the characters in the story, the book title is not perfect, it's dorky. Yes, the author changes point of view here and there (and out of blue), but darn it, I really liked the characters and even though there really is nothing very original about the plot and course of the story, I really loved the characters including a neurotic protagonist with his quiet-type lover to be with their friends. The sexual scenes, again, fairly traditional were still very hot and very well done. Narrator Jason Lovett indeed became Cole, bravo!
    well crap!
Would you consider the audio edition of My Roommate's a Jock? Well, Crap! to be better than the print version?
absolutely not, I've read the book more than once and loved it but I have no desire to listen to the audio version again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love cole, he is quirky
Which character as performed by Jason Lovett was your favorite?
I think he did a great job but that being said, I didn't like his voice or something, it just got on my nerves
    Any additional comments?
I think it's a great story, It's sweet, funny and a tiny bit of angst.
    Strange, funny, and mostly enjoyable
Wow... okay... that wasn't exactly what I expected.
Anyone else expect a really light, fun romance from the cover and the title? That's what I thought it would be. I was expecting another book like Frat Boy and Toppy but this was more serious than I expected. It had a lot of highs and a few lows. I'll break it down for all of you below ;)
First I'll talk about the narrator because the narrator can make or break an audiobook. Jason Lovett did a really nice job with the story. He sounded age-appropriate (KEY for a book about college students!) and was really easy to listen to. He had a nice, even speaking voice that had a lot of expression to it. My one complaint is that all of his characters sounded kind of the same, but other than that, I really liked his narration. (And I checked out his youtube videos and he is adorable so, bonus points!)
Now on to the story. I'll begin with what worked for me.

    A Senses Series Story.
Howard Justinian has always had to fight for his freedom. Because he was born blind, everyone is always trying to shelter him, but he's determined to live his life on his own terms.
When an argument with his boyfriend over that hard-won self-reliance leaves Howard stranded by the side of the road, assistance arrives in the form of Gordy Jarrett. Gordy is a missionary's son, so helping others is second nature - and he does it in such an unassuming manner that Howard can't say no.
Life is barely back on track when Howard receives shocking news: his sister died, leaving him her daughter to care for. Howard now faces his greatest challenge yet: for Sophia's safety, he'll need to accept help, but will he learn to accept it from Gordy, the one man who will not curb his independence?

    Hate the narrator/reader.
Story is good. Like characters. Reader does not fit story and doesn't do the characters justice. Prefer a different reader.
    A Light Enjoyable Listen
I liked this. I listened to it over a few days on the to-and-fro work trek. The narrator felt a bit off sometimes, which was a minor issue, but to judge the story itself, it was light and sweet.
When Howard - who is blind - is left abandoned at the side of the road by his boyfriend after a fight, a stranger pulls up and helps him while he waits for the friends he has called to come pick him up. This stranger - Gordy - has an immediate attraction to Howard, and the two of them have a chance to reconnect a short while later. But dating a blind man is a no easy task, Howard knows, and having just come off a relationship with someone very controlling has been hard - Howard values what independence he has managed to create for himself.
If that had been the sole source of stress in the story - these two men navigating the give-and-take issues made all the more difficult with the inclusion of Howard's blindness, then it would likely have fallen a little short. But Love Comes in Darkness goes further, and throws a massive new event directly into the life of Howard, and shakes everything to the core. Being independent is no longer the primary concern for Howard, and everything else might have to go if he's to do the right thing by those he loves.
Well told, and I have realized since that this is actually book two, and that some of the supporting characters were the main pair in book one. I'll be adding it to my queue.
    nice, however. ...
I love the story however it would have been nice for the narrator to pronounce the names of places properly
    Nice story
I liked this when I read it, and have enjoyed the audio. Max does a good job. However I've never noticed before how many "asked" and "Saids" there are in it. Eventually it became a bit of a nuisance. Overall however you can't go wrong with an Andrew Grey.

Caring for a loved one with cancer is tough. Doing it alone is overwhelming - especially when that loved one is a child. But ever since Ken Brighton's partner left him, Ken has spent his days at the hospital with his daughter, Hanna, hoping for a miracle. Maybe the mysterious care packages that appear for Hanna don't qualify, but they bring a spark of hope into his and Hanna's tired life - and so does Ken's neighbor, former singer Patrick Flaherty.
For two years Patrick hasn't been able to focus on anything but the life he should have had. An injury robbed him of his voice, and the idea of introducing himself to new people intimidates him. But over the past months, he's watched as his neighbor nursed his sick child, and once he meets Ken, Patrick starts to crave a life with him-a life he isn't sure he can have.
Ken doesn't realize he's fallen in love until the doctors send Hanna home, saying there's nothing more they can do: Hanna will either recover or succumb. Ken's heart is set on a new beginning - with both Patrick and Hanna. But Patrick's silence leaves Ken wondering what Patrick wants.

One of my least favorite narrators
    **2.5 stars**
Audiobooks are extremely subjective. When you read a book yourself, you have your own idea of how the character sounds, but when you have an audiobook, the will of the narrator is forced upon you. This can be hit or miss, and I have really visceral reactions to some narrators. A few narrators have made books that might have been mediocre into absolutely fabulous reads. I have also had the opposite experience. This is one of those.
I kept trying to place the age of the narrator of this book as he was reading. I even attempted to look him up online mid-book to see what I could find out about him. I finally guessed his age to be around 65, though I never got confirmation. The narrator has that ever so slightly wobble to his voice and kind of a formal accent that gives his voice an elderly feel. That is not a good nuance for this book. The narrator read this book more like a children's book than an adult M/M romance and I actually cringed at the sex scenes. It felt like watching my grandparents have sex. It really took away from the story for me.
Now, the story itself was cute, if a bit melodramatic. I thought that the romance was sweet and I love a character with a disability. I had some issues with the pacing of the story (it felt very slow, but that might be an issue with the narrator again) and the lack of a story arc. I also had some slight issues with the character of the child, but I am pickier than most on that because I have a daughter about the same age and I know exactly how a kid that age acts. In addition, the way Mark was kind of forgotten about towards the end of the book bothered me (what happened with him??).
Though this book is a big hit with all of my friends, I just wasn't feeling it. I think it had potential, but whether it was the narrator or the content, it just missed the mark.

    Publisher's Summary:
Erica Ryan is flying home from London after a disastrous business trip. Free spirit Abby Hayes is flying into New York City to visit her mother before jetting off again. Both end up in Gander, Canada, when their flight is diverted because of 9/11. For ninety-six hours they share a rollercoaster of emotions and find themselves drawn to one another. Will their nascent connection survive everyday life when they return home?
Georgia Beers is the author of eight lesbian romances and has won the Lambda Literary Award and the Golden Grown Literacy Award.
    Editorial Reviews:
When American airspace was closed on 9/11, many planes already in the air were directed to an unlikely location: Gander, Newfoundland. This remote Canadian town is the backdrop for renowned lesbian romance writer Georgia Beers' riveting story 96 Hours. Stage and screen actress Romy Nordlinger richly voices the emotional turmoil of Erica Ryan and Abby Haynes, very different women who wind up stranded in Gander against the backdrop of terrorist-inflicted tragedy. Inevitably, the two form a deep bond - one that may or may not last past this traumatic, history-making 96 hours.
    Members Reviews:
    Very moving and superb narration!
What made the experience of listening to 96 Hours the most enjoyable?
The story was a deeply woven intricate study of a harrowing time - personal relationships and the beauty of relationships. I loved it from beginning to end.
What about Romy Nordlingers performance did you like?
Sensitive and beautifully narrated she's also great with the accents. I really liked her for being so able to be immersed in the characters and their stories. Beautiful. I found myself very moved and wasn't sure if it was the book itself or the narration but it must be a mixture of both.
    Excellent Listen
Woven around a very typical lesbian romance novel the author relates the story of the people of Gander, Newfoundland in the aftermath of 9/11. During the 24/7 coverage at the time one of the great stories that was either unknown or overlooked was the way that the natives of the small Canadian town opened their hearts, their homes and their town; to the planes diverted there when US air space was closed. To see more about those events and the 96 hours in question check out YouTube's "A yellow Ribbon, Gander."
The romance was the stock girl meets girl, they find a reluctant growing attraction, they fight it; then finally act on it. The good feelings are lost; they part, both are upset. Then by an act of fate they're brought back together, their hearts soar the music plays and they walk off into the sunset together. Ms. Beers is a good writer and despite the predictability of the plot you're drawn in.
I highly recommend this book if for no other reason than the background story about Gander, and I thank my daughter for introducing me to this author.
    Thrown Together by 9/11
A lesbian romance set against the backdrop of the 9/11 attack on the twin towers? It sounds like an oxymoron but Georgia Beers knows what shes doing.
I have never been so scared and on edge at the beginning of a of a book.
Over the course of the book, the characters, an uptight scientist, and a wandering free-spirit, are stuck in an airport in Newfoundland, Canada, grounded by the attacks on the Twin Towers.

    Awesome!!
This is a collection of maybe a zillion of Mr. Lanyon's short stories. Every one I wish was longer. This author just has an amazing gift for creating MCs that are smart, witty, vulnerable, endearing and any other adjective you can think of. There are different narrators for each story and they were all fantastic; not a bad one in the lot. How is that possible?! Does he have a stable of great narrators on retainer? Mr. Lanyon, please share them with the rest of the audiobook world!! Anyway, as I said, my only complaint was that the stories were not longer and were all HFN endings. Josh Lanyon doesn't believe in HEA; he just leaves you satisfied, but still wanting more.
    Excellent collection
Josh Lanyon portrays "real" people. I always feel like his characters could be a friend or neighbour.
I often forget I am reading/listening to fiction...
I have read many of the stories in this collection, but I enjoyed several of them more this time due to great narration.
    An exceptional group of stories...
This is a book of short stories by the fantastic writer, Josh Lanyon, and he continues to entertain and enthrall me with his story telling. I'm hoping to meet up with Chance someday and try some of his chocolate's. Almost 14 hours of storytelling and the narrators did a fantastic job. They credit four narrators but with the mix and mingle of the characters in the various stories, I would have suspected even more. A definite must read/listen. Lanyon is an excellent writer and he does it again with this culmination of intriguing stories...
Excellent, and the narrators are well chosen
Josh Lanyon is one of the best writers in M/M, but more to the point here, he does the best audiobooks in this genre. I don't see a list of narrators with their stories in this collection, so here it is:
JM Badger: Perfect Day, In a Dark Wood, Other People's Weddings, Critic's Choice
Rob Granniss: A Limited Engagement, Until We Meet Once More, Sort of Stranger Than Fiction
Adam Chase: In Sunshine or in Shadow, In Plain Sight, Just Desserts
Michael Oaks: The French Have a Word For It, Heart Trouble, Slings and Arrows
All of the narrators are really excellent, but I particularly impressed with Michael Oaks, who captures the intensity and determination of some of Josh's younger protagonists.
    So lovely!
What made the experience of listening to In Sunshine or in Shadow the most enjoyable?
The stories - i love these stories! I've read and reread them and now i can also listen to them which is lovely.
Plus, the narrators are very, very good. I also liked the fact that the narrators alternate so that each story has a new voice, and I like the short story format - i can fit these stories between daily tasks and it's relaxing and satisfying to hear a story from beginning to end.
Who was your favorite character and why?
One of my favorite characters is Ford from Heart Trouble. This is such a sweet little story and he's such a sweet guy.
Also, Angelo Faust's butler from Critic's Choice.

    A Horror, Mystery Suspense/thriller & Gay Romance
Where does The Blue Moon Cafe rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
The Blue Moon Café is a horror mystery suspense/thriller and gay romance all in one that will pull you in, scare the crap out of you and have you rooting for the unlikely relationship between human and werewolf. Non-traditional in that it strays from modern-day romantic epics and ends with a shocking surprise that just might break your heart. One of the best audiobooks I've listened to in years!
What did you like best about this story?
The horror, suspense and wonderful love story between two unlikely men.
Have you listened to any of Topher Samuelss other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, and I really enjoyed Mr. Samuel's smoothe, calming voice, which he ratcheted up at the terror and suspenseful portions to scare the crap out of me!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Scare the crap out of me!
    Any additional comments?
I usually listen to audio books (the unabridged versions) via headphones traveling on hours-long plane rides or driving long trips alone. So when a book Ive had my eye on was released in audio book format recently, I decided to take a chance and listen while in my car which proved quite often as I found myself looking for places to go, errands that needed doing so I could listen to Rick R. Reeds suspenseful, romantic thriller, The Blue Moon Café.
Taken from the blurb for both print and audio format: Someoneor somethingis killing Seattles gay men... Something moves in the dark night at full moon hunting and killing gay men in the places they gather.

    Somebody Killed His Editor
What did you love best about Somebody Killed His Editor?
I love comic mysteries. This narrator was really able to bring out the comic elements and still make the characters real.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoy series. I liked the fact that this was the start of a comic mystery series.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The beginning of the book when the MC when fighting for his life on the bridge. It was funny and scary at the same time.
If you could rename Somebody Killed His Editor, what would you call it?
    How Kit and JX restarted
    Any additional comments?
I always like anything Josh Lanyon does, but this narrator really brought out the best in this book and made me laugh throughout the whole thing which I did not do when I read it. I smiled a lot but did not laugh out loud like I did with this narrator.
    And the killer is...
I have to admit...I really loved this book. My introduction to Christopher Holmes was a bit off-setting...in fact I thought I would completely dislike the protagonist. But his self-deprecating humor and his comic perspective actually endeared me. I laughed out loud on many occasions because of Kit's perspective. The introduction of J.X. brought a picture to mind that might be a bit inappropriate to share, but I knew early that something was not right in the state of Denmark, specifically concerning Kit and J.X. Josh Lanyon's writing style engages the reader and he did a fantastic job with this tale of mystery. Additionally, the narration of Kevin R. Free was superb and added to the story. One of the better narrator's and I look forward to hearing his telling of a tale again, hopefully he will continue in this series. Great book and I enjoyed it immensely!~~
    Very Well Done
What made the experience of listening to Somebody Killed His Editor the most enjoyable?
Enjoyed the narration by Kevin R Free, he captured Kit wonderfully. I have previously read this Josh Lanyon book and found the audio version delightful.
    A fantastic series!
I have a confession to make I've fell blindly and unconditionally in love with the main character of this book. Kit Holmes is struggling with mid-life crisis big time: his long-term relationship has just ended, his career is going downhill, he is concerned about his health, he feels old and he complains a lot about all and everything.

Better than the Narration of Trusted Bond but not
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes it was but not because of the narration but because of the story.
What other book might you compare Honored Vow to and why?
Trusted Bond that Honored Vow's narration was only slightly better but still have the same problems of not much diversity in the voices, so it was easy to mix up who was saying what and what was being narrated if you haven't read the book. Also in every single chapter start the name of the book was mentioned like there was a chance of the listener ever forgetting it so it bear repeating. The thing that made it better than Trusted Bond's narration was the fact that we didn't had to hurry along to follow what was going on, this narration was better paced.
One of the bad things was the name Yusuke -and who knows what other name- was read wrongly. It's Yu-su-ke not Yu-suk! That almost had me going back to the book and checking to see if I remember correctly that the tribe of Reshep was from Japan and not another country!
The other book I will compare it too is Change of Heart that Sean Crisden's still remains the best of all.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Really the narrator did detract from the book. His narration was just not rich enough.

Pearce Rifkin is a woman with a plan, and it doesnt include a serious relationship. Chief Surgical Resident is just a stepping stone to her lifelong goal - chairmanship at one of the top ten medical centers. Determined to follow in her fathers footsteps, even though she isnt the son he dreamed of, Pearce has no time for romance. Two women with nothing in common but a shared passion for surgery clash at every opportunity, especially when matters of the heart are suddenly at stake.

    Ok book
As glad as I am that lesbian books are becoming available on audible, there are many more I'd rather see than this one. It's a cute story but if you've read Radclyffe once, you need not really read more if you want a different story. They seem to follow the theme of two unlikely people meeting, not getting along, falling in love, crisis, ending with living happily ever after. Again, loving that lesbian books are available but this story is old. There are also two skips on the recording making it a bit distracting.
    One of my favorite romances
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Despite the short-comings of the narrator, this is one of Radclyffe's best medical romances. I've read it more than once and listened to it more than once.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Turn Back Time?
The entire story is really great.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narrator, unfortunately, completely missed the personality of one main character and on occasion ignored written direction, such as a whisper or a tone of voice. Unfortunate for such a great story.
    Any additional comments?
Absolute only thing wrong with this audio book is the fault of the narrator. Even though the author describes one of the surgeons as having a husky voice, the narrator gives her a wimpy little girl voice that never should be used for a grown woman, much less an aggressive lesbian surgeon.
    Such a great story.
I loved every bit of this story. I was so excited to learn how Pearce and wynter got together. . I also love that their story continues in Radcyffe's Trams Alert book.
This is a easy read , with laughs, lots of smiles, great chemistry and build-up between the Main characters. I love the interaction between the sub characters as well..
You should read this book as well as her others.

Wonderful 2nd book, less than stellar narrator.
I love this genre and story line and was ecstatic to see the second book here. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to who the narrator was until after I had purchased the book. I was all set to hear Sean Crisden, and it was such a let down. I see that the first book has a different audio publisher so this explains the new narrator. I wish I had not purchased this book. Jeff Gelder's voice makes it difficult to follow which character is speaking at times, not to mention the monotone and dull recitation with a decided lack of inflection at times. Another problem is the difference in pronunciation of the special titles and words used here, but this just goes back to the different narrators. There are also several spots in this recording where the book just repeats itself. This just shows a lack in production control and very poor sound editing by this studio apparently. I have been an Audible listener almost since the company's beginning and isn't the first time I have noticed the quality change when audio publishers change and narrators change. Listeners like consistency and we all have our favorite authors and narrators. All in all, it is a great book and if you can get around the narrator, it is a great book in the genre.
    Such a shame...
What disappointed you about Trusted Bond?
    The narration was appalling!
What did you like best about this story?
The story itself; as in the printed version, is excellent.
How could the performance have been better?
Rerecord the entire thing with a different narrator who listened to the first story.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story is great (when you read it on your own), the audiobook was so terrible to listen to that I deleted it shortly after chapter 1.
    Any additional comments?
I read the book which was excellent, but the audiobook was PAINFUL to listen to.
If you listened to the first audiobook "Change of Heart" read by Sean Crisden and expect this one to be just as good- you're in for a rude awakening. Jeff Gelder is an awful AWFUL narrator. I got through chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 and couldn't listen to it anymore, I deleted it immediately.
