A Good Read, But Read the Cinder Series Instead
When I first got this book, through the Kindle First offer, I was extremely excited because I still enjoy books that use fairy tales as references. However, if you are looking for a retelling of the Snow White character, or more than just a few passing references to Snow White, then maybe the book is not for you. Sure, the main character, Lumikki, is named after Snow White, but that doesn't quite play any significant role in the book.
I was quite excited as I was reading the book because it hints that Lumikki is different than other people her age. She's hyper-sensitive to noises, can expertly read peoples' faces and emotions, has a nose for a wide-range of perfumes, and seemingly is pretty strong and athletic for a teenager. The reader does not find out until the very end why this is so, and it's a little disappointing. There are some silver linings though: it appears that more questions will be answered in future books, so it might be best to read the series when more books are released.
Other than a little disappointment with the story line, there are also some odd translation issues. This, of course, cannot be helped, but it does make reading it a little rocky. If you want to read a series that does really well at retelling the stories of fairy tale characters, then check out Cinder!
    intriguing after a slow start
A good beginning to a series, I'm not sure. Not the perfect stand alone novel either. The author tries too hard to ensure the protagonist, our very own fairy tail princess, is complex and has depth--but when we find her secrets it's a bit underwhelming. The attempt to develop her into a new Lisbeth Salander is far too obvious and the narrative gets bogged down in an attempt at complexity but ends up also a little disappointing. It's a good premise and interesting beginning, but the characters don't lend themselves to easy likeability and interest like their Dragon Tattoo'd predecessor. A good start for a smarter, younger crowd though. And it's nice to have an intelligent, capable female to follow.

I read the book Knifepoint by Alex Van Tol, and personally I like it.
In the very first chapter on the very first page, the way it was written just grabbed my attention. The main thing that caught my attention was â Confused, I try to sit up. But i cant. It feels like Iâve been tied down to the bed with a million tiny threadsâ. Once I read this I wanted to know more about what was happening. Throughout the book the author had great wording and went into good detail and the detail kept me interested in the book to keep reading. I really liked the book because I am into mystery and crime type of shows, so I figured that a mystery type of book wouldn't be too bad.
I recommend this book to anyone that likes a book that keeps you wondering what's gonna happen next. But if you aren't into mystery or crime books, then this book isn't for you. Through the entire book it keeps you thinking and wondering about what is next. -Keegan L.

It was supposed to be a chance to get a taste of country life before she had to settle down to something more serious. Jill thought working in the mountains, taking vacationers on horseback adventures, would be a great summer job. Unfortunately, things were not working out on a number of different levels.
Her co-workers seemed to have more fun partying every night, which left Jill to take up the slack every morning. If that wasn't bad enough, her boss, James, seemed to think it was his duty to make life even more miserable. He was demanding, and at the same time incredibly creepy. She was beginning to think this might be her last day on the job.
The day started out with a nearly impossible task - rounding up 60 horses and getting them saddled and ready for the scheduled trail rides. The work was exhausting and made more difficult by the fact that Jill knew her co-workers were probably still tucked in their beds, sleeping off the fun times of the previous night. The only thing to brighten her day was the good-looking guy she spotted hanging out around the corral.
After a morning trail ride, Jill expected to have a quick lunch and get a few minutes of rest, but the handsome tourist approached her and stated that he was her next scheduled appointment. He announced that he was interested in a wilderness adventure ride. The adventure rides were really for the experts, and Jill had never put herself in that category; however, James was right there to insist that she was the person for the job.
Once the ride began, Jill quickly assessed that her companion was not much of a horseman, so she was able to slow things down and truly begin to enjoy the afternoon ride.

    Coin Heist
Coin Heist has the feel of an ABC Family made-for-TV movie. It's cheesy, fun, and there's no way in heck it would ever happen in real life! It also has a bit of a Breakfast Club vibe, with teens from different groups coming together for a common purpose, and forging new friendships in the end. Alice is the brain. Jason is the class clown. Dakota is student body vice president. Benny is the scholarship kid. But they all have one thing in common: they need money. More specifically, they need money for their school since Jason's dad--who is the headmaster--gambled away $50 million of the school's funds. Oops.
It all starts with a trip to the US Mint. Alice immediately realized that their computer system isn't very secure, which gets the attention of Jason. He's become a social pariah since the news of his father broke, and he feels like he should fix it. Then Benny overhears Alice and Jason, and wants in on it, because no money, means no scholarship for him. Finally, Dakota wants to lend her skill set, since she wants all of the school's clubs and after school activities back in place for her college applications. They all have everything to gain, and everything to lose, but they're in it to win it!
Of course, there's no way I could believe four high school juniors could ever successfully rob the US Mint. But Coin Heist made me think it was possible for 300 pages! They planned, and planned, and planned some more. They have back up plans for their back up plans. But everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Details were overlooked for the overarching plot, but that was okay. I was just having so much fun seeing if they could pull it off!
Coin Heist was just a really quick, fun, feel good read. It's one of those books that just lets you turn your mind off and enjoy the ride. I think the outcome is fairly obvious, but that didn't stop my enjoyment of how they got there.
    Creative and Imaginative Story!
This was a very imaginative story. The plot itself with the entire coin heist is highly unlikely to happen in real life but you never know. ;) It has a little something for everyone - action/adventure, a hint of romance and family relationships.
It was a little slow to begin with but once the stage was set I was hooked and I am not kidding you I woke up in the middle of the night just to read a few more chapters. It is told from 4 different points of view which was nice but even with the characters names at the beginning of each chapter could get a bit confusing.

    Worth a listen to! :)
Would you listen to Visions again? Why?
I would most defintely listen to visions again. The cute, first time love story within a story was a very nice touch. Kept my attention throughout because of unexpected plot twists!
What did you like best about this story?
I really loved how the heather seems reserved, and her new found crush brings her out of her shell. really seems like how people grow up.
Which character as performed by Mia DuBois was your favorite?
Heather was by far my favorite!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
this book I listened through all day!
    Interesting story
I enjoyed this book and the narrator was probably very good but the quality of the recording was disappointing.
There was a background echo throughout the story.
    Story was decent
The narration was distracting. There were many mispronunciations and the sound track seemed pieced together. The story was good enough; wish I had read it instead of listening.
    Don't waste your money!
Slow poorly paced story made worse by any pot narration. Worst narration I have ever heard. Many many mispronounced words.
    Terrible
The narrator was horrible. I could not listen to the book and finally turned it off and took a nap.

    Publisher's Summary:
In A Presumption of Death, Jill Paton Walsh tells how World War II changed the lives of Peter, Harriet and their growing family.
The story opens in 1940. Harriet Vane - now Lady Peter Wimsey - has taken her children to safety in the country. But the war has followed them: glamorous RAF pilots and even more glamorous land-girls scandalise the villagers; the blackout makes the nighttime lanes as sinister as the back alleys of London. Then the village's first air raid practise ends with a very real body on the ground - not a war casualty but a case of plain, old-fashioned murder. And even before the second body is found, Lord Peter Wimsey and his brilliant wife are on their way to finding the killer.

Better than Sayers on her own!
Great narrator, for me he is Lord Peter. Can't wait to read another read by him.
    Give us more please
This new series of Wimesy books just get better and better thank for resurrecting him
Not quite Dorothy L Sayers but not far off
I love Lord Peter Wimsey and Ian Carmichael's narration is peerless in my opinion so I approached this with some trepidation. Whilst the solution is not as complex as many of Dorothy L Sayers stories I think Jill Paton Walsh has managed to capture the spirit of the characters beautifully and Edward Petheridge makes a decent fist of the narration.

Helena's high-profile disappearance five years earlier is the one that originally got Seneca addicted to true crime. It's the reason she's a member of the site in the first place. Members Reviews:
    Most irritating narrator ever!
Forget the pros-and-cons of the book (okay mystery but not as compelling as I had hoped considering this is the same author as PRETTY LITTLE LIARS.) Renee Chambliss is one of the WORST narrators I've ever listened to. She reads the entire novel in this voice that is both simultaneously flat and sing-songy. Her cadence doesn't vary from sentence to sentence. It's all read in the same tone, whether it's a funny moment, a scary moment, a dramatic moment, etc. And she does this really irritating thing where her voice RISES near the end of every sentence, so everything vaguely sounds like a question. It's maddening beyond belief and is a complete suspense killer. (In mystery novels, it's imperative the narrator is able to create tension with their voice, something Renee Chambliss is wholly unable to do.) Also, all of the characters sounded alike, it was hard to figure out who was talking. Her attempt at male voices where the worst. Only the character of Madison had a distinct vocal tone.
The book has it's fun moments, but it doesn't feel very professional or polished in both the narrative passages and the dialogue. But maybe I felt that way due to Renee Chambliss, though. I'd suggest if you're interested, pick up the actual novel (or read it on a Kindle). Avoid narrator Renee Chambliss at all costs!
    Meh
First of all, the narration was almost painful. I made the mistake of not listening to the sample before getting this book. Squeaky voice and pitiful attempt at making male voices. You learn to ignore it by the middle of the book.
The story was alright. It felt very high school to me and very corny at times with the dialogues. Some of the parts I caught myself thinking "really?" Because it was so unrealistic.
