    Short & very informative
    Anyone who:
    1. Want to learn what the chakra?s system is;
    2. Need a reminder of main characteristics of each chakra;
    3. Want to know which organs and how, are related to which chakra;
    4. Or is simply sceptic about human energy system;
    should listen to this audio.
    New Age at its worst
    Well . . . this is well-read and the author uses complete sentences.
    Otherwise, this was very disappointing. After the intro (which you can hear in the sample), the author goes on to describe how all ancient cultures perceived something which can be described as an aura. She talks about how western culture has lost this knowledge. She claims that if you don't balance your chakras, you will develop cancer and/or heart disease.
    Then she discusses each chakra very briefly, spending a little extra time on the first and fourth. The "meditation," if that is what it is meant to be, consists of saying, "Visualize the red energy centered at the base of the spine. Feel that red energy in every cell of your body. Once you have, let it go. Now visualize the orange energy at your waist," and so on.
    Finally the author suggests that you imagine seven distinct personalities, each with the viewpoint of one of the chakras, and consult each of the seven whenever you have a problem.
    If you are interested in meditation, I recommend instead Ken Cohen's _The Power of Qi_ available at Audible. It is not chakra-oriented, but it has three distinct meditations.
    I am sorry I got this!
    I found this to be a waste of time. It had one meditation, one exercise, both very brief. The explanations of the chakra's were also brief and negative. Yes the world is changing as the speaker repeats often, just as she repeats often about heart disease, std's and aids. I did not learn anything and I wouldn't want to be healed by this woman with her negative world changes. Isn't meditation and trying to get you chakra's in order supposed to be from a positive energy?
    i want more
    this is excellent but disappointly brief, even at an hour.
    i've listened twice so far and really enjoyed; would like to hear more detail now on each of the chakras - a) normal B) how to develop, enhance; c) how to know if chakra is stultified
    no lo recomiendo
    hay muy pocos ejercicios prácticos y mucha habla sobre la supuesta relación enfermedad-chakra. es decepcionante.

    Title: Unleashing Your Psychic Potential

    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 1 hr and 40 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-26-04
    Publisher: Hay House
    Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 65 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
    In the second half of the program, John points out that we protect ourselves in the physical world all the time (locking doors, wearing a seat belt, taking vitamins, etc.), but since there is more to us than our physical body, we need to protect ourselves from negative energy as well. Psychic self-defense allows us to maintain the energy in our own auric field, thereby preventing others from affecting or draining it.
    Members Reviews:
    Title doesn't match the subject
    This left me a bit confused because John consistently refers to this book as "psychic self-defense" which isnt what I expected. I thought this would help me learn how to hone in on my own intuitive nature- and it does, but it kinda reminds me of Defense Against the Dark Arts (for all you Potter fans!)
    That aside, it's still a great book. John is awesome in it and you will undoubtedly learn some good practices for developing your intuition and the protective measures to keep from unwittingly entering creepy territory!
    It's amazing!!!
    It is what I was looking for. Excellent exercises and powerful knowledge.
    The reader has a wonderful tone and easy understandable pronunciation.
    I love this book. Good job!
    Big Head
    This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
    Someone that needs to know his credits
    Would you ever listen to anything by John Edward again?
    Not likely
    What didnt you like about John Edwards performance?
    He talks more about himself than anything!
    What character would you cut from Unleashing Your Psychic Potential?
    John Edwards

    Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio
    Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 9 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
    An audio guide that every seeker should hear, Spiritual Literacy answers the universal question, "How can I live a spiritual life every day?" Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, who have been covering comtemporary culture and the spiritual renaissance for more than 25 years, believe that we can read the text of our lives and of the world around us for sacred meaning. All we need is spiritual literacy. To illustrate their point, the Brussats present "readings" about daily life from present-day authors - spiritual teachers, essayist, novelists, filmmakers, poets, naturalists, and social activists. This collection is unprecedented - an enthralling treasury of brief "aha!" passages from such writers as Maya Angelou, Thich Nhat Hanh, and many more. These remarkable readings tutor us in the art of lingering with our experiences and seeing the world with fresh eyes. Life's meaning and the presence of Spirit are found in the shape of a child's foot, in an encounter with a wild animal, or in the process of preparing a meal.

    A wonderful book!!!
    This book is great and one of my favorite all time books. It has so many wonderful thoughts and you can pick it up and get inspired on most every page. It keeps you thinking and reminds you how to do better in so many ways!!! Another cool thing about it is that you can skip around and after you have read it all of the way through you keep getting inspired when you read any part of it separately. A must have for anyone that loves God and wants to be the best person that they can be.....
    Perfect for the moment!
    This has been a wonderful gift for many of my friends and relatives over the years. I always receive beautiful notes of gratitude, as each person finds passages that they feel speak directly to them just when they needed it. Simply one of the best finds I've made on my life!
    Nice Book to Gift
    I bought 4 copies of this book to give as Christmas/holiday gifts. I have previously purchased probably almost a dozen copies. This is a very nice spiritual book - but not focused on any particular religion. It makes a nice Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa gift - or as a "support" for anyone who's going through a tough time due to illness, death, loss, divorce/break-up etc.
    I've never read it all the way through - it's not that kind of a book - although I suppose one could read it that way. i tend to just open in up and see what message the Universe is trying to get to me.
    A marvelous resource
    Holding this hefty book in your hands, you cannot help but admire and respect the editorial efforts of the Brussats. They have put together a dazzling compendium of spiritual wisdom -- and have certainly done a lion's share of promoting many wonderful books that probably wouldn't have gained public attention otherwise! Many of the books they've quoted are now prized possessions on my book shelf, and I am grateful for having had this resource to light the path.
    My only caveat -- and maybe it's just my issue -- is the way the book is organized and categorized.

    Another great book by Erika Grey! Thank you! Jesus is coming soon. I believe the 2 witnesses are Elijah and Enoch because they are the only 2 people in the Bible that never died.

    Langue: Français
    Date de publication: 12-04-13
    Éditeur: Audiolib
    Evaluation: 4.5 sur 5 sur 10 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Résumé de l'éditeur:
    Qu'entendons-nous par "bonheur" ? Dépend-il de nos gènes, de la chance, de notre sensibilité ? Est-ce un état durable ou une suite de plaisirs fugaces ? N'est-il que subjectif ? Faut-il le rechercher ? Peut-on le cultiver ? Souffrance et bonheur peuvent-ils coexister ?
    Pour tenter de répondre à ces questions, Frédéric Lenoir propose un voyage philosophique, joyeux et plein de saveurs. Une promenade stimulante en compagnie des grands sages d'Orient et d'Occident. Où l'on traversera le jardin des plaisirs avec Épicure. Où l'on entendra raisonner le rire de Montaigne et de Tchouang-Tseu. Où l'on croisera le sourire paisible du Bouddha et d'Épictète. Où l'on goûtera à la joie de Spinoza et d'Etty Hillesum.
    Un cheminement vivant, ponctué d'exemples concrets et des dernières découvertes des neurosciences, pour nous aider à vivre mieux. Une interprétation qui articule avec clarté l'aspect méditatif, philosophique et pratique de ce livre qui est d'abord une apologie de la simplicité.

    Paying it forward
    Mary Garner, early on in this radiant book states, `Our greatest strength is not in how much we differ from each other but in how much--how very much--we are the same.' She is an observer of humanity, watching for signs of human kindness, and having the faith that there is the possibility of a transformative spirit accessible to each of us. Garner comes to this book well prepared, holding degrees in religion, theology, clinical psychology, and international law. Reading her fine book it becomes obvious that she maintains a strong desire to be of service in teaching, human rights advocacy, counseling, disarmament negotiating, dispute resolution, and global efforts of interfaith cooperation and peace-building. Her other books I could find are `The Hidden Souls of Words' and a book of fiction called `River Road' which seem to carry the same degree of sensitivity and subject matter as this little book. Her philosophical hero (at least one of them) seems to be logotherapist, psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl (1905 -1997) whose experiences led him to discover the importance of finding meaning in all forms of existence, even the most sordid ones, and thus, a reason to continue living. Frankl became one of the key figures in existential therapy and a prominent source of inspiration for humanistic psychologists.
    Garner's Introduction discusses the presence and the meaning of angels and how they appear at the most propitious times. `My life's continuing journey has evolved to envision a New Eden: a more loving, compassionate, and insightful way of living. This inner vision, when it is allowed to advance and move through us, can transform our individual lives - and, hopefully, the world around us.' Garner starts her many shared stories with a number of experiences with taxi drivers and how these men made a difference on many occasions in the lives of others. In each of the stories she shares she focuses on how depending on our inner visions can keep us focused on the importance of the continuity of mankind - that string of instances that demonstrates how connected we all are if we only remain astute and aware of the positive flights of angels that hover over us.
