Title: Francesca Woodman Zig Zag

Subtitle: Through the Lens, Book 7

Author: Marina Vaizey

Narrator: Anneliese Rennie

Format: Unabridged

Length: 9 mins

Language: English

Release date: 01-18-17

Publisher: Cv Publications

Genres: Arts & Entertainment, Visual Arts

Publisher's Summary:

Francesca Woodman killed herself at the age of 22, the biographical fact that colors her work and which it is de riguer to mention. She left behind paintings it is said, as yet publicly unseen, and literally hundreds upon hundreds of negatives and 800 proofs of black and white pre-digital photography. And since that very early death - and early death, whether suicide, accident, disease or murder has been sometimes seen with rabid cynicism as an outstanding career move - she has over the past decade and more become something of a cult figure. Or rather her imagery has, collected by the grandest, and given prestigious showings (in 2011-2012, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim). She, her life, and her subjects - usually one and the same - have been the subject of the kind of publication that needs a shopping trolley to get home. The 2006 Phaidon monograph has already been reprinted three times.

If I had the chance to see what was all about I would wasted $5. Totally disappointed

These are just a few pages with very minor information on Francesca. It's impossible to see a real preview of the contents. If I had the chance to see what was all about I would wasted $5. Totally disappointed.

Guardatevi intorno, quanti oggetti abbiamo in casa, oggi? Li avete mai contati? Provateci.

Title: Masaccio: The Trinity at S.Maria Novella

Subtitle: Emergence of a Psychodynamic Image

Author: Nicholas James

Narrator: James Milton

Format: Unabridged

Length: 20 mins

Language: English

Release date: 12-05-16

Publisher: Cv Publications

Genres: Arts & Entertainment, Visual Arts

Publisher's Summary:

Despite his short span of activity, from 1423 to 1428, Masaccio can be placed as the signifier of a radical break with the period of Italian painting known as the Trecento, and, alone among his contemporaries, in his use of dramatic realism points the way to the spectacular creations of the High Renaissance, in which artists such as Michelangelo, Raphael, and Palladio achieved a fusion of classic and humanist ideals in painting, sculpture, and architecture. The essay explores The Trinity at S.Maria Novella in Florence; its radical conception, the circumstances of its commission, its history, and condition.
