A great book of humorous life lessons by a southern pageant queen who really knows her pearls. I read it in one sitting, on the two year anniversary of my beloved mother's passing. There were so many things in this book that resonated with me. I don't know you, Jane, but I could almost be you. Thank you for writing this.
GOOD BOOK
Not what I expected...so much more! Lots of good advice from birth to death. You'll laugh, cry and rejoice. I would recommend this book to every age but should be the go-to book for every Christian couple who wants to bring your children up in the way the Bible teaches
Read this book if you like to giggle
This is a very funny book filled with tips on leading a more joyful life, encouragement in difficult situations (which the author calls âdark pearlsâ), humor involving being a beauty queen and a true Southern gal, and handling sad family situations. When she faced a family member who hates her, she prayed, cried, and believed at first that by acting as a Christian the relationship would heal. When it didnât she shares âmend your fences before the stampedeâ and learn to establish boundaries for safety. Many of her anecdotes paint funny word pictures, like when she rides in a parade as a beauty queen, on the hood of her mamaâs car, and falls right off. She is quick to laugh at herself and give us the giggles.

Another wonderful book from this great southern humorist and Christian author. Jane has a way of bringing the subjects we'd sometimes like to avoid, into the light, while making us laugh. You will find yourself nodding and saying things like "well THAT'S the truth!" out loud to yourself all the way through. For anyone who has never experienced the writings of the wonderful Jane Jenkins Herlong, "Bury Me With My Pearls" is a great place to start. This is one you will want to buy in multiples to give for Christmas, and keep on hand for your girlfriend's birthdays. Jane is a unique person with a real talent for insightful yet fun story telling.
