This book starts off fine, but quickly trails off into relationship advice. Now, I understand the interworkings of sex and the state of your relationship, but for over 50% of the book, the word "sex" is barely spoken. Too little Dr. Emily Morse, too much Dr. Phil.

Im picky about sex advice, but this is one of the must-haves.

Whether youre happily vanilla or the type wholl try anything, this book will probably give you a few ideas to make it even more satisfying and fun, either alone or with a partner (or two).

What didnt you like about Janet W. Hardy and Dossie Easton s performance?

Having a younger, more modern adaption would have enhanced my experience. Their performance was good, my extreme reaction was more toward the grandma-like reading from Hardy and Easton - describing hardcore sex acts in detail to 20 and 30 somethings leaves a little bit to be desired.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hire a much younger staff and make it relevant to our modern time.

I dont want anyone to misinterpret this review, this book is great! all the information herein is solid, well delivered, and 100% on point. I have been in a relationship for 8 years where my wife and I love to take women home for 3 way sex, bondage and discipline, top/bottom sex or whatever you want to call it. This book is specifically geared to relationships like these. Some of the ladies we hook up with end up staying around for a while because it just works - some dont. This book is very good at looking at the dynamic of relationships like these and also very good at offering advice for this type of situation.My critique lies in the delivery, and approach. No offense to the authors who also speak the audio commentary (read the book to you), but the experience is like having my hippy grandmother tell me very detailed stories about how her and all her old friends used to get it on back in the day. A lot of the material doesnt translate well to someone who is, say in their 20s or 30s; it just doesnt I feel our generation is way more open than those of the past. So even though, all the information in the book is absolutely great advise for a kinky relationship or a vanilla relationship. They push good, open values that stress on the importance of communication, it's just weird having it told to you by an older person.

Everything you need to know about male pleasure

I'm not sure how I came across this book and it's not the type I usually buy but as a grad student I do like to study topics I'm interested in and well, why not learn all you can about how to give a guy a good time?

This book is very descriptive and sorta medical - the reader is somewhat robotic and technical so it's not the type of book you can get into. Also, if you're fairly good at the topic at hand and just want some tips you may want to skip the first few chapters.

The little stories seemed more like examples of the topic to put them in context - and hey, you can always learn better if you study. We listeners unfortunately don't have the pictures that come with the book so you just gotta know whats going on to understand.

I do like how this book addresses some things like if a person is squeamish about doing it or has an issue there are helpful tips. Or if the receiver isn't having a very good time there's ways to help them through it mentally and/or physically. The STD section was a bit extensive for me and I skipped through some of it but it's probably good for the more promiscuous reader. Overall I'm not sure if it's worth a credit - if you're good to go and feel confident in this department then probably not but if you wanna work on your technique then try it out.

Haaaated It!

What disappointed you about The Sex Diaries Project?

Cohen has managed to take an enticing subject and turn it into a borefest. She spends so much time doing overkill on the narration explaining the motives behind each diarist like it's a %$#@!&* Mutual of Omaha Wildlife Special. Also, the voices of the diarists were just awful. Awful, I tell you.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Extreme disappointment- I tried to give it time, hoping that the narration would finally let up so that the diarists could just tell their stories, but nooooooo. I white-knuckled it for an hour before I ripped the headphones off my head, logged in and hit the "return it" button on the Audible website. No lie.

I was in the mood for something sexy, perhaps a bit titillating, too. After I listened to the sample I was enticed to hear more. What a nice surprise!

The readers are terrific. The personalities of the diarists come off as authentic and honest. And even while I suppose that some of this is exaggerated, I found the diarists to express familiar desires, passions, insecurities and vulnerabilities. Many of the writers describe how their relationships work or don't in relation to sex. The context for their sexual lives is rich. I feel like I can understand some of the kinds of relationships and what drives them very well, even though I've never experienced these types of relationships myself

Also, what's great about this collection is the range of people writing across the spectrum of age and sexual preference. Ultimately, this audio book reminded me of what a gift it is to be alive and to be hungry!

I consider Jack Morin among my trinity of sex education mentors. His teaching, writing, and orginality are my gold standard.

There's few books written about anal sex OR anal/rectal health, but APAH is the Owner's Manual. A rare bird of healthcare, guidance, sociology, therapy as much about health as it is about pleasure.

This book is not a story but the advise that Joan Price gave that I found the most helpful was to be willing to go to the sex toys shop and get a pump for myself.

Joan Price has written two books on the nitty-gritty of sex after sixty: this one, and "Better Than I Expected."

Joan is so forthright, so real about what it feels like to have a mature mind and body, while part of you may always feel like seven...she just gets it.

We all know the hard parts: Loneliness, loss, physical challengesand yet, our libido and fire remain, along with our need for connection and intimate creativity. I think she tells it like it is!

If you're aging and wondering about your sex lifeor you have a friend or parent who you see looking for some answers (or at least the right questions!)I can't recommend Joan enough.

Narrator, Suzanne Torren has a voice like honey, and a knowing way with her phrasing. I buy whatever she's selling.

Too much information?

I'm not sure what to say about this book. I was hoping for straightforward information about successful strategies for coping with an aging body and mind that don't always agree about sex. And indeed, there is some helpful information. But there are also a lot of personal reminiscences, read in a fairly plummy tone, that at times seem like too much information about our author's sex life. I feel like I'm reading Ladies Home Journal.

Would you try another book from Felice Newman and/or Kaylee West?

the reader's voice was shaky. The reader sounded nervous as if the reading material made her uneasy.

What could Felice Newman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Find someone else to read her book. The reader made the book less enjoyable for me.
