Would you listen to The Cowboy Rescues a Bride again? Why?

Probably not. It was a good story but not enough for me to listen to a second time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cowboy Rescues a Bride?

When the cabin falls down and Ned and Fila are trying to get safe was a nail biter for me.

Also when the bad guy comes into the cabin. Ned is very sick and Fila is the focus of the bad guy, knowing he had bad things in mind for her.

This is yet another story of the woman having to save the man.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Ned realizes what Fila means to him. He would do anything to have her in his life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wasn't able to listen in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

This was a good story but it didn't wow me. Ned setting up a restaurant for a woman with a 7th grade education and no training on how to run a business was a bit out there for me. Also she was suffering from PTSD and everything she had gone through. That doesn't just magically disappear. Another thing that was a bit of a stretch for me was Ned running the ranch without being able to read. That just couldn't happen. Also having a billionaire living in a trailer behind an animal shelter is just a bit too much for me to believe as well.

This book took my breath away!!!

Fila. She has been though so much in her young life. The journey she has to take to find herself will leave you breathless.

Only get this book if it is on sale

This book started out ok but later became irritating to me. It irks me when characters draw a wrong conclusion based on flimsy evidence and then runs off! Who does that anymore? That storyline is very outdated.

THEY TRY TO OVERCOME THEIR PASTS FOR EACH OTHER

Charley is very beautiful, shy and sweet Model but she's afraid to let anyone get too close because of a terrible incident she witnessed in her past which has forced her to build a wall around her heart so she doesn't get hurt again. Jude is a sexylicious gorgeous Fashion Photographer but he's also a manwhore with different women each night but when he sees Charley and her friend dancing in a Bar one night suddenly he's consumed by her, his Angel..... however he doesn't want to want her and leaves. Then, when he's on his next photo assignment who should be the star model.... yup, you've guessed it, and suddenly there's an intense sexual awareness between the two of them with some very sensual photo scenes.

Again, he doesn't want to want her because of a tragedy that haunts him and one he feels responsible for but he can't ignore the strong chemistry and he decides to take a chance because he just can't let his Angel go. His next assignment is in Hawaii and he arranges it that Charley is the main Model and a slow and sweet romantic build-up follows with tender touches, heartfelt declarations and lust filled looks. More sensual photo scenes follow but he's all Alpha so it will be when he decides and when they eventually have mind blowing sex he's lost but Charley is just waiting for the goodbye scene that she's sure is about to happen. Jude wants her to share her demons and trust him so issues an ultimatum.... one that he will regret because it has disastrous consequences for both of them.

A really enjoyable listen with two likeable leads, a best friends secondary love story, an easy-going saccharin sweet storyline with the lust, passion, chemistry and sexual awareness being so well written I thought Jude's lens would steam up and crack. More mental heat than actual sex scenes but when there is one it's graphic and there's plenty of thrusting, adjusting, claiming and fireworks. Two unstable people who take that leap, let each other in, overcome everything and heal one another.....

A nice read and sequel. I enjoyed how the characters developed from the fist book.

Stay true to your calling

I enjoyed the older ladies who kept doing good even though old. Schizophrenia is not the bad malady the author thinks. There is so much they can do today for it and most do not end up being put away for good. Also, a husband and family should never not be told about what happens to the mother of the family. Other than that, I enjoyed it because it was different. Women often are overlooked in the ministry unless you become a nun.

Holy Guacamole! This one is smokin' hot!!!

The 2nd book in Tiffinie Helmer's Wild Women of Alaska series gives us Jesse and (Erich) Sloan. It's a short book (novella) and I usually complain about those, but I don't think I could have survived any more of these two -- they are a combustible pair. I'm absolutely certain that Sloan has the testosterone of 10 average men. Jesse has quite a bit herself, being a bush pilot raised by her father, also a bush pilot. He's all man and extremely swoon-worthy, but the one thing I didn't like about him was that he always called her "Woman." C'mon, even Tarzan bothered to learn Jane's name!

Although we don't actually see them getting physical until the halfway point in the book, the whole thing was literary foreplay, from start to finish. By the time I got to "The End" I felt like I'd been "rode hard and put away wet." Now that I've recovered, excuse me while I go back to read it again...

Always an Adventure

I've been reading Tiffinie Helmer's stories for some time now. And I will admit, her mysteries like Shiver and Death Cache are my favorite. But every once in awhile she gives us a book like Bushwhacked. A love story. Sure the characters have flaws, Sloan is hard on everyone, especially himself. He's harboring pain so deep that when love comes calling, he's ready to smack it down before it can reach him. Jesse is a strong independent woman who runs her own business and drives her own plane, better than most men. She doesn't need a man in her life but she can't help loving Sloan in spite of himself. If ever there were two souls who needed to be together it is Jesse and Sloan. Oh and did I mention, the hot smoking climax's of those souls coming together? Yea, you should really check this one out. My only wish that it would have been longer.

Bushwhacked will sweep you up!!

Bushwhacked's Jesse and Sloan will not only sweep you up but will leave you breathless.

Jesse has been holding a secret from Sloan for four months, but just how much longer will she be able to keep that secret ?. Now with her engine stalled out she's gliding into Whisper Lake. Its going to be either her greatest landing or well it won't and keeping that secret will be a lot harder than this landing. I couldn't finish this one. It was so cheesy and the author's overuse of adverbs made me crazy. The narration was great.

Colton and Lucy --What a Fun Read!

Would you consider the audio edition of I Saw Her Standing There to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the printed book, but think it wouldn't be as much fun!

What did you like best about this story?

I really liked the two main characters. The interaction between the two was a lot of fun to listen to.

I would have, but would probably then need to listen to parts again...because I laughed so much thru parts of this book.

I picked up this series because I'd listened to all of the Gannett Island books and enjoy the family interactions. I look forward to more books in this series. This pair has to be my favorite of all in either series!

A Sweet Turn of Events...

This is a sweet story about a boy tossed out and down on his luck and his journey to self-discovery and his determination to change the course he is on. Zach meets Ben, Ben begins to feel that tingle within but withholds until Zach is ready for unconditional love. This is their journey to happiness and it is a sweet, horrific, loving, detestable, accepting story that everyone can gain something from. RJ Scott's style and Sean Crisden's narration was a delight...a must read/listen

Super Sweet Holiday story - expert narration!

Zachs father beats him and tries to convert him when he finds out hes gay. He goes so far as to home school him to keep evil influences from him. On the eve of Zachs 18th birthday, when his father intends to force him to enlist in the military, Zach runs away. He doesnt have much money, doesnt get very far, but he does end up in the right place at the right time.

Ben is a young, new cop, doing his job, rousting a vagrant on a park bench on Christmas Eve. Zach is scared and cold and unlikely to make it overnight without help, but Bens town is small and doesnt offer much in terms of runaway support. So he offers Zach a place at his moms house for the night.

Well, one thing leads to another and Zachs story gets told. Everyone falls in love with Zach and eventually all of Bens friends and family are enlisted to help Zach out and to encourage Zach to stay and begin a new life.

Zach doesnt know what to do. His sister is still in his fathers clutches. Zach doesnt feel right accepting all this charity, but now that hes 18 he does has some choice in the matter of his life plan and he doesnt want to go home.

Zach accepts the help, eventually retrieves his sister, and starts life over with the help of Ben and his family.

Ben, who is 6 years older than Zach, keeps his hands to himself for as long as he possibly can. But between his own attraction and Zachs, by the time Zach is 19 the two have succumbed and begin a relationship that exceeds friendship.

This is a very packed short story. It doesnt feel inadequate or rushed. Sure, it would have been nice to struggle along with Zach as he grows. Maybe the tension between he and Ben could have been stretched a bit more.

A Hallmark Movie of the Week

An awfully simple little story in which everyone is good; all, or almost all of the citizens of a small Vermont town are all on the same page and all are willing to help. In the end they all come together for the dedication of a new Veteran's Center that will be followed by a job fair. This is a totally sappy story; yet it works.

Sometimes you just wanna feel good and listen to a positive message. I purchased this one for the setting and the story came through. If you're looking for anything rough, gritty, or realistic; skip this selection, it's a total feel good piece of fiction.

Christmas in Vermont

I loved this book when they were in Vermont at Christmas I was there with them. I really liked the reader great job

Not good..

I read several reviews on Amazon and they all said the same thing: "sappy," and it really was. And the narrator made it even sappier and so boring. He read like a robot and the women's voices were horrible. This was written by a man so I should have known there wouldn't be any romance in it unless you count them holding hands when they were buried under the rubble, at least nothing up until I stopped reading at 63%. There was not a bit of emotion in anyones voice in the entire story. From the time Jack saved Hope when the school blew up until he was showing her around his hometown in Vermont the voices never changed. I would never recommend listening to this story, or reading it for that matter, it's so boring.

What made the experience of listening to When We Met the most enjoyable?

Tanya Eby brings the characters to life. I also listen to books while I work and audible makes it very easy for me to enjoy them . It makes all the difference to have a good narrator.

When Angel understood that it's possible to have love again while still honoring the family he lost.

All of the Fool's Gold books plus others. I like her narration. Some narrators just don't work for me, but she does. I never have any problem listening to her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I usually manage to find humor in all the Fool's Gold books. I love how everyone will help to get each other through the rough spots.

This is one of the series that I always preorder when I know about them.

No tension, all tell

I've read books by this author before and don't remember them being so lackluster. There is far, far too much tell versus show. Description after boring description, all told as matter of fact. A scene with a ladies lunch in which they all introduce their back stories (i .e. Previous books), was particularly stiff and marked the start of my waning interest. There is no tension between characters; from the start both characters have tacitly agreed to be together, their only hurdle mutual commitment phobia. The narrator enhanced the feeling of what I can only describe as a romance procedural. I just couldn't finish; after just half way through I decided to spend time with better books.

Great read

I initially didn't like the tone & inflections in Tara's voice since it was quite different from the reading in Three Little Words" but it seemed to work out. Although I kind of figured that they'd end of together, the storyline was very nice. I'll definitely buy the next book in the series.

Love the story, narrator not so much

First thing I noticed was that the narrator makes the characters sound like they are in their 80's. Okay, maybe not 80's but 60's. It is difficult to get into when you can't really grasp the age of the people you are reading.

Fun & Sweet

I enjoyed this book but I wouldn't say its my favorite Lauren Blakely series. This book was sweet & sexy as always with her stories and the actual drama is light which I love too. I enjoy a second chance romance so I was excited when this story turned out to be just that. I can't say I blame Kat when she can't resist Bryan for long, He is a sweet talker and knows what he wants. This was a little fluffy and predictable but still enjoyable story.

The narration is not a favorite for me, I actually like Emily Durante but just not for this story. The voices just didn't fit the characters for me, especially Bryan, I'm not a big fan of her male voice.

Sometimes good can come from the broken heart of a first love. Kat Harper's first love, Bryan, actually inspired her jewelry line called, My Favorite Mistakes. This love for the fashion and jewelry business led her to a college mentoring course. Each student is paired with an alumni business mentor in their field. Unfortunately, Kat is paired up with her ex-Bryan who runs a men's cuff link company. Of course he's just as hot and charming as he used to be, and he still seems to have a thing for her. Her prof has a very strict no romance policy in his courses. So how is Kat to going to survive the semester? And you know Bryan isn't going to go easy on her.

I really enjoyed Kat's story. She is smart, caring, and sweet. I enjoyed getting to know her as an adult, and also as a teen via flashbacks. I love that she took something that hurt her so much, and turned it into something positive. Her ultimate goal was to make enough money to help her parents failing business, and that really touched me. She was also willing to try to put the love of her life on hold, to make her dreams come true.

Colters Woman was the first Maya Banks books I read. I instantly fell in love with Adam, Ethan, and Ryan. I was so happy when Maya decided to expand the world of Clyde, Colorado and give us Colters Lady, Colters Daughter and Colters Promise. It was bittersweet to read Colters Gift and have to close the door on all these characters who feel like family.

As the story opens we see Lauren, months after the terrible ordeal with her ex, finally settling into the small Colorado mountain town. She has a job and a new place to live and has slowly regained her independence. Trying to move on and leave her painful past behind, Lauren gets an unexpected visit from tall, dark and tattooed, Liam Prescott and Noah Sullivan. Liam and Noah have been on a wild goose chase for months and came to Clyde for answers and to claim the woman they both love. What has Lauren been keeping from them? Does she return their feelings as well?

Lauren cant believe her luck when not one but two men want to claim her. But can the relationship really work with two headstrong alpha males? As they explore the possibility of a relationship, the trios world is turned upside down when Laurens past literally comes crashing down on them. Can Liam and Noah save the woman they love from being thrust back into the previous hell she barely survived before?

It is no secret that Maya Banks is one of my very favorite authors. I absolutely love her character-driven stories and this story is no different. It was wonderful to see all the Colters again. Its hard to believe that only a few years separate the books but many years have aged all those characters we love. There are a few adult themes addressed in the book that may be uncomfortable for some readers consisting of a violent and somewhat sadistic nature.

At the end of the book we are treated with a novella, Colters Legacy, that concludes the series. We find out what happens with Lilys pregnancy; Lauren, Liam and Noahs future; and a final scene with Adam, Ethan, Ryan and Holly that had me balling my eyes out. I will miss all of these beloved characters so very much.

I think thats what makes a great author. Someone who makes us laugh, cry, and give us unforgettable characters that change our outlook.
