Well Played

Played by the Master by Opal Carew is the first book in the Mastered by series. (I'll be reviewing all of them here!) And in this first installment, we find Jacquie. She is desperate to help her pregnant sister's husband get out of hot water with his boss, Race Danner, billionaire owner of Danner Industries. It seems her brother-in-law was facing charges for something he didn't do, and Jacquie needed to convince Mr. Danner to drop the charges.

She decides to ask for a favor and gets herself into Danner's high stakes poker game. Instead of being kicked out for not being on the invite list, Race decides to play a much more private game with Jacquie where the stakes are very different.Can she get the charges dropped? And just what will she be bargaining with?

You'll have to get the book to find out. And you'll be glad you did. Played by the Master was a fun, very hot and sexy enjoyable read. It was somewhat short, but I like stories like that. A quick, romp with a sexy billionaire. Who wouldn't enjoy that? And Opal is a terrific writer, so you know the sex scenes will scorch right off the pages

A must read series

I just want to say I read a lot of books but I really don't write reviews very often. I felt with this book and series i needed to write a review to say thank you to the author. I like a lot of alpha male books, bikers, MMA fighters, and special Forces guys, I have read my fair share. This series was not your cookie cutter biker alpha male book. I love that I couldn't guess or predict what was going to happen. I actually laughed, was left worried and I actually enjoyed reading / listening to this book. I usually read or listen to about 200 maybe give or take books a year, and a lot of these alpha male books begin to be repetitive. Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful book that I could enjoy. I have added you to my top 5 favorite authors. Can't wait to see what else you have for me to read. Thank you!

amazing MC story

There are few authors that I go back to and read over and over, and Scott Hildreth is one of them. Love his style of writing, the details and the care that goes into character development.

Hung, is one of my favourite books! Biscuit is HILARIOUS. His stories will have you laughing out loud.

The only part about this book that I would improve is the female narrator, as mentioned in other reviews, at times she sounds like she is just reading, and doesn't draw you into the character ad well as she could have.

This is a great Purchase though. You will not regret!

Good Book

I liked this book just as much as the others in the series. This book was one of the funniest so far. I did not care for the narrators. They read the book more than performed.

First, all the books are good in this series and you get updates of the other characters from pervious books. Biscuit is a funny guy always telling stories. Be warned his stories makes you bust out laughing with the crazy stuff he does and says. The main thing is this is a good love story and Kat is an amazing woman. Love the Happy Ending..

Different story.

Even though the story was somewhat interesting, I had a difficult time getting past the cold, detached relationship between the two......moving through their relationship like two emotionless robots. I never quite developed a liking for either of them, nor cared what happened to them. The grammatical errors were distracting....extra words in sentences, calling Henry Michael and Michael Henry, etc.

Bridget Taylor is a awesome writer. Her characters are so true to life you feel like you are right there with them. At times I wanted to hate them but mostly love them. I can hardly wait to read more of her books.

The publisher's summary doesn't give a lot of information. This audio has an intriguing steady paced plot with a cloak and dagger feel. There were a few intense moments, but the plot wasn't too dark. It's filled with suspense, danger, terrorist, a mysterious, and dangerous organization lead by a even more mysterious alpha who's almost like an anti-hero, but one you'll fall in love with. Zara gets sucked into their world when Raven mysteriously appears in her room one night wanting to earn her trust. She works for a company who's secretly developing technology that could be used to harm millions. At first she doesn't want to believe, but after conducting her own research she can't deny the facts. The main characters are great, and there are secondary characters that play significant roles, and you get to learn more about them. Things really heat up between Raven and Zara, as he starts earning her trust, and protecting her which leads to some hot, steamy erotic sex scenes. I was pulled in from the first chapter, but the more I listened, the more I became entranced with the characters, plot and romance.

The only reasons I didn't give this story five stars; 1) it's kinda long, and only told from Zara's POV, and due to just hearing her POV there were a few times throughout the story I was ready to get out of her head, and back into the action. 2) I really wanted to hear Raven's POV, and see things from his perspective. Not sure if any future stories will be told from dual POV's, but if they are, dual narration would be perfect...as long as it's the right male narrator.

Tieran Wilder did a great job with the narration. The male characters voices were good, but the lead female character could sound high pitch at times.

Months ago, I saw this audio offered through audioboom, but didn't request it due to the lack of reviews on amazon, and the length, but did keep it in my wishlist. When I requested and received the second book to listen and review, I knew I wanted to go back and listen to the first book before starting the second. I'm so glad I did, because Raven was a great book. It's worth a credit, but if your caution about starting the series, it's an awesome KU/whispersync deal! I have over 800 audios, and this one's in my favorite four/five star pile.

Amazing Secret (society???) group

Tieran Wilder does a wonderful job portraying all the different characters and was absolutely wonderful at showcasing the edgy darkness of this story. I loved all the intrigue and shady dealing and the mystery of everything going on. Throughout the entire story I couldn't decide if I loved or hated Raven (still can't too). There were times that he was adorable and so sweet and other times where I wanted to smack the crap out of him.

Scary, realistic and addicting

Wow! I don't think I can do the job of reviewing this book properly. This was a nasty view of two motorcycle clubs, a lot of crime and the degradation of women. I have to say I could not put this book down.

Once I got into it, I really enhoyed it.

I easnt a real fan of the narrators voice for the female character, but the story was the real draw. Well read, but poor inflection. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

This title is super short but it defiantly wets the apatite for more!

Zara Hunter is in a bind. Her father ran off with the money she owes Reese and its A LOT. She fears for her and her bothers life and is prepared to beg if thats what keeps them both alive. She isnt prepared for the payment he requests!

Logan Reese controls all the shifter fight clubs in the city and not someone you want to make an enemy of. He is prepared to crack some skulls until he comes face to face with Zara. She makes his Lion purr! Logan doesnt just want her, he NEEDS her! He makes her an offer she cant refuse and HOT times ensue! My only complaint is that the rest is not in audio yet.

Smokin Hot!

My word, this was one smokin Hot listen! I loved this couple. They already had a great marriage and their kids were finally out of the house so they finally had time to really focus their all to each other. Both had been thinking of it but didnt really know just how much or how far the others fantasies went. One day out of the blue, Deans wife Jillian takes the initiative to visit him at work; where she proceeds to fan the flame that has already started burning. I wont spoil the details but the journey leads to them becoming closer and closer in all sorts of ways. Dean also learns that certain fantasy turn out to be more of a nightmare for him.

The narrator, Lia, is so great at every book she does! I had to go back and see if there was also a male narrator. Her voice blends in and out of all characters and minute accents so naturally. I cant wait to listen to the next in this series.

Marriage games starts out vanilla. But it is because Jillian knows nothing else. Dean has known the wild side but loves his wife so much he gives it up for her. Until the boys are out of the house and Jillian is ready to play.

romantic love that everyone wishes for. I loved this story. I really enjoyed watching Jillian and Dean grow closer and compromise. I look forward to continuing their story.

Lia Langola is a wonderful narrator. She has a voice that is so easy to listen to. Ms. Langola has a way to make the story come alive. She narrates emotion, feelings and scenes with such animation that it feels as if you are right there in the story.

holy hot sex scenes!

The story is decent and easy to relate to if you are married (actually gave me some ideas). The sex scenes are super hot.. They are perfectly narrated. Starting on the second book immediately. I can't wait!

BDSM w/ love

I have never been interested in BDSM. However, Ms. Wilde shows a different side that makes this series fun, hot, sexy and not scary. Her writing is now at the top of my TBR pile!!
