Especially after downsizing and letting go of a big house with lots of chores people often free up time for hobbies, travelling, or the things they are passionate about. Even after retiring from the workforce, a lot of people enjoy working a few hours and contributing their knowledge, their expertise to the community or a business. This can bring satisfaction and enjoyment and contribute to living a more meaningful life.
If you have downsized and freed up some of your time to focus on your personal growth or your passion, stay tuned to this podcast to hear how you can make your dreams come true.
To explore this topic I have invited Bill Marlow to the show. He is the Director of Greys Assist, a Seniors’ and Retirees’ Employment Agency. His goal is to place quality 'mature' staff, who can contribute to a business's success by offering their experience, knowledge and mentoring capabilities. He is helping senior people with a lifetime of knowledge and experience to find part-time work and to do what they are passionate about.

It is the time of the year to think about and write down your major goals for 2015. Have you thought about your New Year resolutions?
When I started thinking about mine, I realised that I first need to reflect on 2014 and acknowledge what I have achieved this year. When writing down all my work and private milestones for 2014, it became obvious that I have just finished a massive year, jam-packed with activities, events, and things ...
In this episode, I share my exercise of reflecting my year and my milestones. I also talk about my New Year resolutions and how I became clear about them.
I hope that this will help you acknowledge your year and define your major milestones for 2015!
The launch of the Downsize With Style podcast was a major milestone for me in 2014. Just before Christmas, the downloads climbed to over 350 – constantly increasing on a weekly basis over the past three months.
I would like to thank every single person, who listens to my podcast! I will be back with new episodes in 2015! If you find this podcast valuable, please return the favour and leave a rating on iTunes. I will be forever grateful!
Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year!

Handling emotions and dealing with sentimental items is one of the hardest things to deal with when downsizing. We project our memories in our belongings and feel we will lose those memories when we do not possess the belongings anymore. To overcome those feelings, the first step is to understand that our memories are NOT in our belongings, but our belongings trigger our memories.
In episode 20 of the Downsize With Style podcast I share 11 tips to deal with sentimental items.

In episode 17 of the Downsize With Style podcast we look at how to create an interesting and unique interior by mixing and matching.
If you would like to inject your personality into your new apartment, mixing and matching is a good way to go: mix old and new, very expensive and very cheap, colours and neutrals. Be courageous and mix styles, price points, textures and pieces from different origins and eras to create your unique interior. An eclectic style is far more interesting and personal than living in a house that looks like a display home.
Just follow the rule that everything you buy has to mean something to you and your interior will work. It is a simple as that.
