As we embark on our first marriage series as a church, the Lord has strongly pressed it into my heart to begin by addressing the many singles we have in our church family. I believe the Lord wants us to cut through all of the noise from our culture regarding singleness by addressing 3 minimizing myths that tear at the souls of far too many Christ followers as it relates to the status of singleness. I hope you will join us this Sunday as we collectively come together (as a group of kingdom citizens) to get our hearts and minds focused on God's design for every one of us, regardless of our relational status.

Jesus cried, made a truth claim, and offered an invitation. As we answer the call to following Him, we are entering into a realization that He is with us, for us, and loves us. With the heaviness of death, however, it can seem like God is too far from us to even care. But with Jesus, death is just the beginning.

As we end our series through the book of Daniel, we come to the most famous story in the book – Daniel in the lion’s den. We are tempted to make much of Daniel's example of courage in the midst of such unimaginable adversity. But in doing so, we run the risk of missing the glaring reality that his courage was actually forged long before that fateful night. It is here, in this story we discover that courage isn’t something that is summoned in a moment; rather for the believer, courage is developed through a lifetime of day to day moments with the King of Kings.

The position of a disciple requires the posture of a servant.

I'm sure many of us have heard the phrase, "The writing is on the wall.". This usually comes up when something bad is about to happen. Or, a particular outcome is predictable. This phrase comes right out of Daniel chapter 5. The year is 539 B.C. and Daniel and his friends have been in Babylon for nearly 70 years. There is a new king on the throne of Babylon and he cares nothing about the God of heaven. In fact, the scene opens with an all out drunken party that the king is personally hosting. He does something that provokes God to show up and shut down his party in a terrifying way. God writes three words on the wall that change the course of the entire nation's future. Join us this week as we unpack what these three words are and how they calibrate our lives as well.
