  • Ep.12 DP's Mind: How to Keep Growing After Retreat; Gracepoint's Cultural Distinctives

It's another episode of DP's Mind, where Tof picks DP's Mind on different topics. We discuss the winter retreat we just got back from and how people can continue to grow after these "mountaintop" experiences. We also discuss things we found "weird" about our church when we first started coming out, and other cultural distinctives of our church.

  • Ep.11 AMA with dpcp

Here's our second AMA (Ask Me Anything) episode! Questions covered on today's episode:

    • What are your thoughts on Progressive Christianity? Tangentially, how do you balance or prioritize the command to love with obedience to God when those seem contradictory?
    • What are some stories of how you "caught the vision" of Acts 2 Church and how you saw yourselves as ministers specifically in college ministry?
    • How do you make positive change in yourself when you feel like it's impossible to change, in particular, when dealing with your relationships with others and trying to change within that dynamic?
    • Questions about gender roles in the church? Are women allowed to be pastors? Is it expected for women to do domestic responsibilities? Is there a biblical principle for these things?
    • How has it been raising your kids in a large close-knit church that does life together as opposed to raising them in a very nuclear family?
    • How do we balance attracting non-Christians to church without forfeiting the standards for our life described in the Bible?
    • Where do you see the Chicago church another 4 years from now? Hopes? Worries?

    • Ep.10: Merry Christmas, Church!
It's hard to believe we're on our 10th episode already! Here's a special Christmas episode made up of audio contributions from staff and students from Gracepoint Chicago. It was great hearing from all of you!
I mention this at the beginning of the episode, but this will probably be the last episode until the middle of January (so that we can focus on preparing for the upcoming Winter Retreat (you can still sign up at tiny.cc/retreat2023). But we will definitely be resuming dPod again after that!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! We'll see y'all in 2023!
