Dr. Amy Moore: "Everyone Can Be a Shining Light" – A "Giants in Plastic Surgery" Interview

Listen Later

In this convivial "Giants in Plastic Surgery" episode of the PRS Global Open Deep Cuts Podcast, Amy Moore MD discuss her rapid rise to becoming the Chair of the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Recounting the valuable inspiration of Dr. Susan Mackinnon and mentorship she received in academic plastic surgery, Dr. Moore explores both the decisions she made and their inherent trade-offs. Chronicling her experiences of being a mother, surgeon, researcher and leader, Dr. Moore offers insights of value to budding surgeons, and—like Dr. Mackinnon was for her—an example for aspiring women to visualise a career in surgery and research.
