We all wish that were true.  Even for# influenza, a yearly booster with different antigens is required. #Tetanus requires a 10 year booster. Even childhood vaccinations such as #MMR and #polio must be repeated if you are planning travel into an area where these diseases are present. All immunity wanes over time.

In the case of #Covid, the virus is mutating and the currently available vaccines made against the original strain are not completely protective.   Boosters are now under development by Moderna and Pfizer.

CoVid infections are associated with devastating brain damage without evidence that the virus itself infects brain tissue.  Columbia University neuroscientists now publish these conclusions following their study of 41 consecutive deceased CoVid victims.

All had severe Covid disease with lung damage but only half required intubation.  No viral particles or viral RNA were found in brain cells even in the olfactory bulb that mediates smell and taste.  The cells showed signs of oxygen deprivation in association with blood clots, mini-strokes, and significant damage from immune inflammation but little evidence of killer T cell invasion.  

The findings suggest brain damage as the result of remote hyperimmune cytotoxic storms.

Hitting speed bumps at speeds exceeding 28 mph may cause brain injuries to a 3rd trimester fetus and uterine stress for the mother.  This warning comes from engineers at the University of British Columbia.

The investigators derived their conclusions from models that calculate the effects of speed bump shear on the fetal brain as well as the uterus after a vehicle hits the bump.  Variables include the vehicle speed and the speed bump size.

Crunching the numbers leads to the conclusion that vehicles with women in their late pregnancy stages should go over speed bumps at 15 mph or less.  They similarly caution care and suggest slower speeds when traversing bumpy terrain.

Thiazide blood pressure drugs including hydrochlorthazide can bump up the risk of deadly skin cancer by 60%.  This the conclusion from a University of Toronto study comparing 302,634 adults on hypertensive medications and 605, 268 unmedicated matched controls. 

Increasing doses of thiazide medications were associated with increasing incidence of melanoma and the less lethal keratinocyte carcinoma.  On the whole those on this medication had a 60% higher incidence of melanoma, a 52% higher incidence of advanced keratinocyte carcinoma, and a 44% increased rate of keratinocyte carcinoma.

Those with light, sensitive skin prone to cancer should use another blood pressure med.  Those on thiazides should have their skin checked carefully by a dermatologist.
