This morning our guest preacher is Rev. John Yorio, Senior Pastor of Saluda River Baptist Church in West Columbia. The Bible teaches the principle of submission in several different contexts, one of which is the context of the body of Christ. Scripture text is 1 Peter 3:8-9.
This morning we continue our study verse by verse through the gospel of Matthew as Jesus shares three more parables with the crowds. What is the kingdom of heaven like? How are we to understand God's kingdom? Scripture text is Matthew 13:24-43.
This morning we continue our study verse by verse through the gospel of Matthew. Jesus begins a series of seven parables which he uses to teach the crowds. Not only does he use the parables to teach, he explains to his disciples the reason why he uses these parables to teach the people. The first parable Jesus teaches deals with four responses to the message of the kingdom, represented by four different types of soil. Scripture text is Matthew 13:1-23.
Pastor Mike, along with one of our deacons, is currently engaged in mission planning with a local church in Vitoria, Brazil. Please pray their time will be fruitful as they learn about the church and community we will be serving. Dr. Gary Anderson brings the message from Scripture today in the Pastor's absence. Today's message speaks of King David from 1 Samuel 13.
This morning, as we continue our study verse by verse through the gospel of Matthew, we see even more clearly the desperation of the Pharisees in their opposition to Jesus. There are clear principles, however, to be learned from their interaction. Scripture text is Matthew 12:38-50.
