Alright, let’s trim the fat and turn this into Apple Podcasts–friendly show notes — short, punchy, and skimmable while someone’s driving or folding laundry.
🎙 Episode Show Notes
The Dr. Noble Podcast – “The Entrance” (Parent Like a Pro Wrestler, Part 2)
If you’ve tried everything to fix your child’s behavior and nothing seems to work… this episode is for you.
In Part 2 of our “Parent Like a Pro Wrestler” series, we talk about The Entrance — the moment when you stop reacting to behavior and actually look closely at what you’re dealing with.
Because before you fight the behavior, you need to know who’s in the ring.
🥊 Big Idea
Behavior is often a symptom, not the real problem.
In this episode, I walk through the four buckets that should be considered before jumping into discipline or behavior plans:
🪣 Developmental – Skill set matters more than age (autism, ADHD, learning and communication differences)
🪣 Environmental – Divorce, death, moves, trauma, and big life changes
🪣 Psychiatric – Anxiety, ADHD, ODD, mood and learning disorders
🪣 Medical – Constipation, sleep apnea, vision/hearing issues, iron or thyroid problems, seizures, and rare genetic conditions
I also share a real story from fellowship where a child referred for “behavior” actually had a genetic condition — and how missing that would’ve sent everyone down the wrong path.
🧪 Testing & Medical Workups
We talk about:
• When labs and imaging make sense
• Why random testing usually doesn’t help
• When genetics or neurology should be considered
Translation: needles and MRIs rarely fix tantrums.
🧠 Takeaway
Before you fight behavior…
Know what you’re fighting.
Don’t wrestle the symptoms.
Wrestle the source.
🎧 What’s Next
Next episode: we finally get in the ring and talk about what to actually do — the functions of behavior and why kids behave the way they do.
