Meanwhile, Cloud Dancing has a difficult time getting used to his new post-Washita reality.
Is the town unfair to Preston just because he is a banker?
Is Michaela blind to how many of Preston’s personality traits she herself possesses?

WISDOM TEETH! MIKE’S A SUB! CONTROVERSY!
What happens when the Reverend needs his wisdom teeth removed and can’t teach for a few days? Dr. Mike steps in to teach! Thankfully no major medical emergencies occur during this week because Mike is far too busy ignoring the children’s actual homework in favor of teaching evolution. The town is in an uproar and Michaela doubles down. When MaryAnn Daggert is being neglected by her guardian, Michaela devises a plan that will take MaryAnn out of his care—provided she can convince the town council.
Is Michaela a good substitute teacher, or is she neglectful of the assignments the Reverend left?
How does Brian eat that huge sandwich?
How sad is it that poor MaryAnn has never slept in a bed before?

TYPHUS! QUARANTINE! QUININE!
“The Cheyenne say only the white man needs a watch to tell him when he’s hungry.”
Sully’s funny quip at the opening of this episode launches a tragic pathway for the Cheyenne as the army bestows typhus laden blankets to the tribe. As the body count rises, tragedy strikes close to town as well when Matthew comes down with the typhus and the immigrant camp is affected as well. As a backdrop to the tragedy, Brian prepares to portray George Washington in the town pageant.
Do you agree that only engaged whores should be allowed in the pageant?
Is this Wolf’s most important mission to date?
How great is Cloud Dancing’s character in this episode?
He nailed the portrayal of the complicated emotions that accompany the devastation wrought by the typhus!
Join Kelly and Mark as they explore these questions and the way that virtually every group in town is affected this episode that is an interesting mix of unspeakable tragedy with some lighthearted moments sprinkled throughout.
