Dr Rosie Kuhn episodes

  • Connecting with Creativity, Devotion and Inspiration.

In this episode, Don and I began by acknowledging the death of Patrick Stewart and how he played such a great role model for leadership and inclusion. We then discussed how one connects to their creativity, their relationship with inspiration and how one lives into their devotion--not devotion to God, religion or spirituality but to family, values and life itself. We had a lot of fun, as always!

  • When One Good Thing Happens Something Unexpected Can Follow #28

First let me say that the recording isn't up to par, so I apologize for the difficulty you may experience in listening. This episode is about how every moment provides some opportunity to learn and grow, and creating a radio show is no different. In some ways it gets easier, and in some ways the next learning opportunities follows right behind.

    Enjoy!

  • Aging: Does It Always Require Decline and Decrepitude?

Regardless of your chronological age, chances are you’ve thought about aging—wrinkles, decline, decrepitude, and that nagging question: Who’s going to love me when I’m old? In this episode, Don (52) and I (74) explore our own experiences with aging, the fears, the surprises, and the unexpected gifts. Aging isn’t always a box of chocolates, but there’s a whole lot of good that comes with it, too! Come listen!

  • All the Little Places Where Guilt Lives in Our Daily Life

So much of what gets dismissed in life are moments when we feel a tinge of guilt or sadness, or upset, and we ignore it. These are moments when we can be creating hurt to ourselves and we don't even know it. This Episode explores the tiny places where guilt may be experienced and we don't address it. Guilt isn't necessary. Guilt is most of the time hurtful to our hearts and souls. Guilt is something we carry for years and don't even know why. Don and I address all of this in this playful jaunt around Guilt.

  • Hope and Faith: Do I Believe Something Else is Possible?

Over the decades of doing what I do, I've learned this: Faith is my willingness to remain in relationship with the Unknown while it is becoming.”

There are times when I don’t believe it yet. I can’t see it yet. I have no idea how it could happen. And I am willing not to close the door on its potential.

It's a big practice to move from hope to faith. But, my own experience is that It is worth the effort. Take a listen.

  • How Far Out is Woo-Woo?

Don and I had a great conversation with my dear friend Elizabeth Sabet. Elizabeth is an expert in the field of Spiritual Integration, and in Spiritually Transformative Experiences. We explored where that woo-woo edge is for people, how and why they avoid or reject it, and what they could discover about themselves perhaps by just touching what's on the other side of their comfort zone. To find out more about Elizabeth, you can find her at: https://elizabethjsabet.com.

  • Who Inspires You to Be a Better Person?

Today, Don and I talk about who inspires us to be better people and what that actually means. Does is mean more connected, kind, compassionate, or does it mean something else? Come listen! And if you have any questions, comments or things you'd like us to talk about, just email me at [email protected].

  • Accountability -- YUCK!

Everyone has a relationship with this word—and for many of us it immediately triggers, “It’s your fault! You're to blame, I didn’t do it! And, guilt, punishment, or you should have known better.” But something can show up once we stop looking for faults, blaming, guilt and shame.

Don and I had a pretty amazing discussion about all of this, including wisdom from Superman and Captain Picard! We always have fun integrating the wisdom of super heroes with our own unique brand of wisdom.

  • What do I think an apology is supposed to accomplish?

In our conversation today, “When do I need to apologize?” very quickly became a conversation about responsibility, guilt, intention, impact, authenticity, and relationship.

How often do we say “I’m sorry” when what we actually mean is “Please don’t think badly of me”?

Maybe the first question isn’t Should I apologize? Maybe it’s What am I taking responsibility for?”

  • What Do I Get By Remaining Unforgiving

Forgiveness is one of those processes that is complicated and messy but makes such a huge difference in people's lives. Today, Don and I discuss the "Yes, I want to forgive, but..." What comes after the but is what gets in the way from us actually allowing forgiving to unfold. As always, we laugh at our humanness. So fun!
